Skirts And Heels Are Not Just For Women, This Guy Proves That Perfectly (30 Pics)
InterviewMost of us believe that clothes have “genders.” Our society has the idea that some things are “fitting” for a man or woman to wear, and some aren’t. However, some open-minded people wear whatever they want and express themselves freely, not needing to live up to any stereotype. Like the inspiring Mark Bryan, who proves it’s finally time to eliminate gender stereotypes, especially in clothing.
Who Is Mark Bryan?
Meet Mark Bryan, a man who wears skirts and heels. Mark is an American robotic engineer who lives in Germany. He lives his life like every other person, except that he challenges gender stereotypes every day. He almost always wears a skirt and heels while going to work, to the town, and even at home. And let’s just say he looks fabulous while he does.

Mark Believes That Clothes Have No Gender
damn, with such good looking legs, it would be pity to hide them in trousers...
How come a f*****g shirt is masculine and a skirt is “non-gender”??? Since when this bullshit???
If I could have my booty popping like that I would wear this too! That color is amazing!
After my dad died, I found slides. Miniskirts were involved. No one else in my family knows or has seen them. It’s been so sad that he needed to hide, and that I’ve felt the need to protect him. The pictures are adorable.
Mark told Bored Panda: “I dress like this because I can. Just to be different. I have always admired the women that wore tight skirts and heels. Not sexually, but the power they presented. I don’t dress to be sexual, but to dress like any professional woman would. To me, clothes have no gender. I prefer skirts to dresses. Dresses don’t allow me to mix the genders. I prefer a ‘masculine’ look above the waist and a non-gendered look below the waist. It’s all about clothes having no gender.”
He Has So Many Fashionable Options to Choose From
"I prefer a 'masculine' look above the waist and a non-gendered look below the waist. It’s all about clothes having no gender." I'm wondering why/how shirts are masculine but skirts and heels are non-gendered. It's either all non-gendered or all gendered, surely.
I wear opaque tights for dance and leisure: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGepLXqA4/
We asked Mark what inspires him to wear heels and skirts: “All the fashion options. With men’s pants, you have just a few color options: black, gray, navy, and brown, and no pants with prints. With skirts, you can add reds, green, brighter blues, floral prints, animal prints, etc. Same with shoes, but then you also have many more styles and heel types. Plus you can wear open-toed shoes when the weather is nice.”
His Clothes Make Him Feel Empowered
This makes me so happy to see! My male partner is also dabbling in wearing skirts at home. His view is nothing separates trousers from a skirt other than a seam, and he says it's so freeing and comfortable, especially in summer! I love his bravery <3
I love that you’re supportive of your partner just doing his thing.
Load More Replies...How is anyone able to walk in those heels? i sprain my ankle while wearing flat canvas shoes. is there is secret incantation? someone please help me out.
I went thru a heels phase at one point. It's all in using your ass as a counterbalance to propel you forward. Dynamic equilibrium
Load More Replies...Can I just say DAMN! How the heck does he stay up on those incredible heels?
Beautiful. The skirt matches the jacket so well, does he get them tailor made?
Wow, this looks great on you :) I bet you would look great in anything
Men in other cultures wear robes, skirts etc. they look amazing! He looks absolutely amazing!
That doesn't mean us men should go out and put on & wear a mideastern Man Dress. I do however, understand those men who sport a Manly Kilt for some ethnic celebration. This is a celebration of men gathering for some reunion or other function. This skirt wearing dude is just being eccentric, Plain & Simple!!!!!!
Load More Replies...“I feel no different as to me, it’s just clothes. Naturally, on a cold or windy day, it physically feels different. When wearing heels, I feel taller, but also empowered for some reason. In all, maybe having the inner strength to have the confidence to wear non-conforming clothing has also given me the confidence and strength to handle my pressures at work,” said Mark when asked how wearing heels and skirts makes him feel.
All the mechanics at my favorite auto repair shop wear skirts and heels.
Load More Replies...Ok, I know that he's making a statement here but why when fixing a car??
Wait, what? Why not? Why’s it okay for the office but not the shop? I’m a woman, seems like you are too. Would you not wear shorts to change a spark plug? I would. It makes like zero difference. Maybe it was hot outside

Here I found a pair ALMOST identical :) https://www.luulla.com/product/240288/sexy-purple-criss-cross-high-heel-pumps
Load More Replies...I am a little offended because well he looks better in that skirt than I would plus I would break my neck in those shoes. More power to you!
it is amazing how he can survive high heels. it's not an easy 'job' tho. i just cannot stand high heels. I'm commuting for work and it's just IMPOSSIBLE for me to wear a pair of heels while commuting. his body was built for heels, but not mine heheh
We already know Mark Bryan, the engineer who works 45-hour weeks. But it’s interesting to know that he also models and works as an influencer on a part-time basis. Apart from that, he is also the head coach of a football team. He is currently restoring his 1967 Porsche 911, and his wife keeps him busy with her “honey-do-list.”
How Does He Find Feminine Clothes That Fit Him?
I was thinking that as well. I hate to sound as sexist as hell, but that booty POP!
Load More Replies...Ngl he kinda look like Mark Zuckerburg and Patrick Stewart had a trans child
Lol..I just hide his head on every picture and wow. This guys has some set of legs on him.
A man who wears skirts and heels shared what it’s like to find feminine clothes that fit him: “I am 6’ tall and weigh around 165 lbs. I also have medium to small feet. I wear a size 8.5 US and 41 in Europe. I have a 29” waist, so I wear a size 8 skirt in the US or a 38 in Europe. I also work out 2–3 times a week. So finding clothes my size is no problem.”
When Did Mark Start Wearing Heels?
Louboutin shoes are haut couture. They are made in France with the very best leathers. They cost more than what I have per month. These shoes are very comfortable and last for many years, if one takes good care of them.
I doubt they have a choice since he probably supports them --- financially.
Load More Replies...“Old girlfriend in college asked me to dance with her with us both wearing heels. We did this for more than a year. I got very good at walking and moving in heels. Throughout the years, I have worn heels off and on, but not with skirts. I just started wearing heels with skirts in the last 5 years. It was suggested that I would look a lot better in a skirt and heels than pants and heels,” shared Mark when asked how he decided to start wearing heels and skirts.
What Is It Like for Men Wearing Heels?
dude has a bigger heel collection than me and hot dang those legs are rocking it
And all of us women are wearing pants because they are more comfortable. Go figure.
No, woman started wearing pants because of the way men seen them in the workplace in the late 60s, early 70s. To try and desexualize themselves to be take seriously back then.
Load More Replies...Definitely not king or queen since it’s corny AF.
Load More Replies...If he had bigger feet he would have to order from the drag queen online store. He looks fab!
“I buy most of my heels online so that I can try them at home. This way I can have some shoe time and try going up and down the stairs. Feel how much they slip, the stability when testing stilettos. I’ll also wear them while sitting for half an hour or so. If they hurt right out of the box, then back in the box they go. So having a good comfortable shoe is important, but so is the style.”
“My favorite is a 5-inch stiletto. I just love the way they make me look and the feeling they give. My least favorite thing is walking on uneven surfaces like a cobblestone walkway or a sidewalk with pavers that have gaps big enough to swallow a stiletto heel.”
i see you are dressed to the T to go out??? for dinner and cocktails no doubt! you look fabulous !!
... and highly confusing - I hope that was what he was going for!
Load More Replies...He won’t be getting varicose veins. There is no indication for that here.
Load More Replies...This is definitely in the top 3 for me. I love the darker colors of the skirt and jacket with that eye catching pop of color with the tie and shoes! Really lovely
Can we all just appreciate that his tie and shoes match ... it's my fav!!!
I think this is my favourite of his outfits too. He looks great. Some men make negative comments because they are insecure in themselves. This man is not insecure! I like when men change things up and borrow feminine looks. Or when they wear makeup too.
Why was your comment downvoted? You're absolutely right!
Load More Replies...Absolutely hands down, this is the best of the entire collection. The proper pinstripe set off by the pop of red on your shoes is absolute PERFECTION.
Um, that's purple not red that he's wearing. That being said, I love the look.
Load More Replies...Very hard for me to pick a favorite between this one and the one with the dark blue skirt and jacket and red tie and shoes. You've got an amazing talent at coordinating your outfits for maximum "WOW factor"!
Mark Describes His Favorite ‘Man’ Skirt
If he would be open to it and ear cuff would add some dimensions to the outfits.
She didn't have veins popping out like he does. He's going to have varicose veins real soon.
Load More Replies...Mark described his favorite style to wear: “I wear almost exclusively pencil skirts and stiletto heels. I don’t wear dresses as that is not my style, which is presenting as the man above the waist, with non-gendered clothing below the waist. I prefer my skirts at the knee plus or minus an inch or two. My average heel height for a week is around 4 inches.”
What Are People’s Reactions to Guys in Skirts?
Lots of football helmets. A high-heel wearing skirt-wearing man who plays football! I like it!
Pretty sure he’s referring to it as non-gendered because that’s his whole intention — to make skirts and heels non-gendered.
Load More Replies...Omg. I can’t even. From the waist down this is a female. From the waist up, a male! Mind blown!
Hey love his confidence. He has some damn fine legs I tell ya! However, he kinda contradicts himself as he says that clothes shouldn't be gendered. However, he talks about dressing like a "man" above the waist, & then it's "non-gendered" below the waist? It can't be one or the other.
This one is kind of my favorite. His top makes his arms look sexy and strong. His skirt and heels do the same for his legs. He looks more than just interesting here, he looks attractive to my heterosexual female eyes. Big dïck energy here.
He described how people react to him. Mark said that women, usually around the age of 30 to 40, give him compliments. Men make comments or ask questions but usually will not compliment his appearance.
“Take a person with bright green hair. Green hair is not normal. You look up and see this person, your mind tells you it’s a person with green hair, you think to yourself, that’s odd or interesting, then you go back to do what you were doing and don’t give it another thought. I believe this is the same when people see me in a skirt and heels.”
Mark has been happily married for 11 years and gets full support from his wife and family. “My wife often makes suggestions on what I should wear. My daughter wishes she could borrow my shoes at times.”
That shirt makes the outfit. Love the flowers emerging out of the black background. Nice choice.
ewww social distance FAR away from me you aren't Vaccinated i don't want you PLANDEMIC
He Has Advice for Men Wearing Skirts and Heels
You know you can buy the same Boots but made for a man in wal mart I have a pair myself.
Mark shared some advice for men who want to wear skirts and heels but are too afraid. “If you are asking about heels, then I would say to start with a low heel and work your way up as your confidence gets higher. You cannot be afraid. Some people are like animals, they attack the weak. Show confidence and show the world you are not afraid and nobody will bother you. The only fear you have is fear itself. Skirts? Just do it. Maybe not with high heels, but skirts are much more acceptable on a man than a man wearing heels.”
What Is the History of Men Wearing Skirts?
I love that skirt! But not buying those heels. Yes they match color wise, I don't care for the style of them
Men have been wearing skirts since ancient times. In the Kingdom of Sumer in Mesopotamia, men wore fur skirts tied to a belt called Kaunakes, considered ritual attire. In 2130 BC, men in the Old Kingdom of Egypt wore wraparound skirts called Shendyt. The Middle Kingdom of Egypt saw the rise of men wearing longer kilts, almost like skirts, reaching from the waist to ankles, sometimes hanging from the armpits.
this has gotta be my favorite so far (although all of them r amazing)
Prince used to wear stiletto heels, and managed great choreographies too! Wear whatever you like and makes you feel good!
don't worry, he is just standing there, he will take off the shoes when finish modeling and walk on his stocking feet, no stocking feet I see, that's OK too, Ilove the skirt tough and the sweater and the person who is wearing it all you are a great sport!!
my bf had a similar sweat shirt but i stole it lol. sumthing us girls are INFAMOUS for
Mark Believes That His Clothes Shouldn’t Define Him
“I am old enough to remember that in school, the girls could not wear pants. Pants have now become a non-gendered article of clothing. So why can't skirts and heels be non-gendered? Besides, men wore heels before women did. Maybe not today’s stiletto-style heels, but men did wear heels before women.”
“I do this for non-sexual reasons. Men can wear this style without being labeled as gay or queer. I don’t act like a sissy, which is one of the most frequent comments I get from men. They just assume I’m gay and a sissy until they start talking to me. I am just an average, normal, straight, and happily married guy. I love beautiful women, Porsche, and I just want to incorporate a skirt and heels into my daily wardrobe.”
What do we really think? I thnk those skirts and heels severely limit free movement. That makes for passivity. It's a great look, but it's basically a hobble skirt with bound feet. Any power comes from his personality, not his clothes.
What I really think is that he has no power at all. I think he's a loon
Load More Replies...Rock that sht!!!!! Bless u I'm a bit male that wears what ever I want too. I love femininity I love women's clothing. Life is too short to worry about dumb people be happy with yourself always and God bless.
Good for him. But it feels so unfair that a girl wearing the same outfit with such a short skirt and heels in public would be catcalled or assaulted and people would say she was "asking for it".
If that skirt was any shorter I'd be able to guess his religion.
The straps on those heels don't look vry comfy....or is it just me?
First ones I don't really like - more because they look like the foot isn't in the shoe comfortably.
This would have looked much better with a white shirt or a white with bluish silver pinstripe shirt. It is just 2 bold colors that don't really compliment each other they clash a little imo
Love the pose. So much strength and dignity. Wear what makes you feel invincible.
not tryna sound like im shaming him cause im not, but like, what's up with his right foot, is it just the quality of the photo or something??!
Why shouldn't everyone wear anything they want? He looks great, I think lots of men would!
Just be careful crossing legs and uncrossing, we females have to do the same thing very carefully, just saying, lol
Nothing's "wrong" with it. But gender is meant to be shook up a little.
Load More Replies...He’s put a lot of time, thought and money into his clothes and shoes!
you would never know this was a skirt unless you looked at the story title .
I'm Really curious as to how you drive a bike wearing heels and a tight skirt..
I imagine this skirt must have lycra in the weave in order to allow for bicycle riding, but the heels must present quite a challenge!
I like that he looks like hes about to go to a party i love his outfits
Those are his legs without hose on. It really shows what the body position is forced into with shoes like that. And easier to see on aan because they do not have the hip rotation women do. It is pain.
I'm seeing some discoloration in the calves. The feet look bluish too.
Load More Replies...Interesting enough, the station signs betray that he must live more or less in our neck of the woods. But I have never seen anything about him on local media.
That's because he paid someone to put up these pics.
Load More Replies...Holy Moley!! He had rocked all the looks!! How can anyone walk in those shoes? I think it’s awesome. You do you and you are fierce!!
as a woman, I QUIT wearing high heels 35+ yrs ago because they hurt my feet too damn much.
I’ve never worn stiletto high heels shoes (that were more than 3” high) after seeing what my late Mother’s feet looked like in her early 40s... she had so much feet problems up until she passed away. When she got diabetes in her late 50s the doctor had to amputate her right foot, he said it was from wearing high heels for over 30 years. She passed 13 years later. ☹️😢
Load More Replies...Mark would be a fantastic stylist if he ever decides to change career. Perfect sense of style.
I love the shoes, the skirts are great, but I could do pants just as easily. He has fantastic legs, so that makes the shoes even better! Kudos to you for being strong in deciding what you want to wear!
Wow, love the no hips , broad shoulder pencil skirt look.. i've only seen one woman totally rock this high heel look ,TINA TURNER!!.. but if you can strut them, TRUTT THEM!!! personally i've never been able to wear high heels, love the look of a high end beautiful high heel as a decor art.... and wish i had feet for them.
I have never been able to were these. More power to you, give me the flats.
So jealous, I have not been able to wear heels for 40 years, stilettoes stopped when kids started.
Is It OK for Guys to Wear Skirts and High Heels?
It might not be common to see men in skirts, dresses, or heels, but people’s mindsets are changing. Clothing equality has yet to become a reality, but it takes a few brave people to bring about a change. Like a school in Scotland that celebrated the ‘Wear a skirt to school day!’ These unique initiatives spark debate and force people to question long-held beliefs.
The same goes for Mark Bryan’s bold clothing. What do you think of Mark’s fashion choices? Tell us in the comments and vote for your favorite pictures and styles!

I am jealous of his wardrobe and those legs! He absolutely rocks a skirt and a good pair of heels..
Load More Replies...Gender aside, (because isn't that way this is about?) his outfit coordination is on point! Love the shoes, skirt, tie colours
that‘s what i was thinking. he‘s got a great sense of style.
Load More Replies...I'm not sure why he's breaking stereotypes as high heals were originally worn by butchers, who were nearly all men, to stop the blood soaking into the bottom of their trousers.
Absolutely agree, just like back in the 16\1700s, Women's theatrical parts were played by men, however, that was then, this is now. He is most definitely breaking today's societal standard of gender norms, and I'm here for it!
Load More Replies...I agree. And honestly, I would imagine that a skirt would be more comfortable for anyone with testicles...
Load More Replies...Why is he considering a skirt and heels "non-gendered" but a shirt and tie as masculine?
I can understand the skirts, but if I were a man, I'd be glad to ditch any and all high heels. I never wear them as a woman either.
He dresses well - I have no problem with men in skirts/dresses/heels. But who in their right mind wears 5" stilettos ? Those things are so bad for your body.
90 photos? Seriously? He has an impressive collection of pencil skirts, though. If he's wearing heels every day, even at home, he's begging for a world of foot and hamstring problems down the road.
Personally I don't like heels because they hurt. This guy looks really good in them though.
Car to bar shoes... when there's little walking involved. The rest of the time? BOOTS! My favourite are Fly boots.
