Drawtism says he's creating illustrations to disturb the comfortable. Or to comfort the disturbed. Whatever the case, one might call his works funny, low-brow, nonsense drawings... And the artist would be fine with all of these epithets. He just wants to help people escape the mundane part of day-to-day life.
"A lot of people find comfort in wholesome [content], and I do also!" Drawtism told Bored Panda. "I'm a huge fan of Liz Climo, Adamtots, and Coolman CoffeeDan. But I've always had a very dry and blunt sense of humor with an almost 'outside of the box' imagination and a slightly surreal approach. I think it's possibly a British sense of humor," he tried to pinpoint the origins of his no-BS approach to telling stories.
The UK-based artist resides on the border between England and Wales and hasn't had any formal art training or education. Officially, he's an engineer. But by no means does his profession limit Drawtism's creative capabilities. He's developed a unique visual style and is keeping it real.

In his works, Drawtism touches on a lot of sensitive topics and has received his fair share of snappy DMs. Talking to Bored Panda, the artist said he thinks people get offended far more than they should. "This isn't to say that in all situations people should not be genuinely offended by something (i.e. violent abuse, racism, animal/child abuse, etc.). But it's when people confuse 'disliking' or 'disagreeing' with something with 'being offended' and try to think opinion carries greater weight in arguments than facts," he explained.
One thing to say to anyone who is biased / prejudiced: "Raise your hand if you would like to be treated like (insert group: i.e. African Americans, American Indians, LGBT)?" When they don't, ask them why ... they'll instantly know how the other person is treated and maybe they will get their head out of their a**e
"Ricky Gervais sums this up perfectly with his joke about 'guitar lessons'. If you dislike something, then more often than not, it wasn't intended for your enjoyment, so just move past it and let others view it."
Drawtism said that even though some deem his work as offensive, edgy cartoons is what others expect from him. "That is what some people follow me for, and what others possibly block me for. They say the truest form of art is creating debate, and I have found that my work definitely does that more often than not; positive or negative, it definitely gives cause to converse."
Drawtism's fascination with creating comics dates back to 2018 when he had a terrible motorcycle accident which left him in the hospital for almost 5 months. Unable to walk, it was there that he started doodling on his iPad and enjoyed it. "Fast forward 12 months and scrolling through social media, I stumbled across some very bad portraits someone was trying to sell, and I chuckled to myself and thought, 'I could do that' as a bit of a joke, so I posted on a local sales page a badly drawn picture of a dog which was received hugely with laughs all around, but eventually the mods took my post down."
Slightly annoyed by this, he created his own page to post and carry on having a laugh and the rest is history. "Now, my work has been shared by multiple e-zines, global businesses, and celebrities! The reception I have received has been truly humbling. I just wish I had the support to do it full-time, fingers crossed I’ll get there one day."

Does the artist hide a hamster in every drawing? (In the teacup in this one) I can’t find one in all the drawings, but I may just be missing it.
The little ted between the pillows... or maybe it's a hamster or something!!
I'm really beginning to think this dude doesn't like Snapchat or TikTok...
Ami Temi I love your use of words here: "Uneducated people in third world countries who have religion as the sole solace in an otherwise bleak existence, can revert to hatred in their lack of knowledge". Beautifully said. IMHO Fear is the soil in which hatred is grown. Fear can black out the brightest sun and spur otherwise reasonable people to commit unspeakable acts. History is rife with such stories. Our only choice is how each one of us chooses to conduct ourselves throughout this arduous process. Change of some sort is inevitable. I pray it is a positive change.
I like the message but not the wording. What's with the metaphors?
Load More Replies...Um. The dude's snorkle is under water. I don't think that is how it works.
Yes, you at times hold your breath, dive lower. Then when you come up you hollow first to fl at the tube.
Load More Replies...As a Muslim myself, I can assure you that would't be the case. Well, maybe it would be if people without a sence of humour would be in charge. Uneducated people in third world countries who have religion as the sole solace in an otherwise bleak existence, can revert to hatred in their lack of knowledge, which is not something any normal person agrees with. Unless you're living in a poverty and war stricken country without access to basic education, I can't find an explanation for your hatred. I would have found this funny, whether I'm Jewish, Christian or Muslim. Fun fact: I read about Jesus and Mary, for example, they're very important to us and I'm happy for the changes and compassion Jesus showed. The joke would have been the same to me with Jesus or Allah in it. Just chill, bro and have a nice day!
Load More Replies...I thought this was going to turn into some kind of Parliament joke (maybe the caller is a Tory)
On left "Itching for CRABS", Mid "Catch of the day! HERPES", on right "FINDING NEMO".

The mono brows and horribly smiles are just as bad, I think.
Load More Replies...Excellent work can't stop laughing out loud. Please make more.
Some of these are old and corny but I have to admit most of these made me laugh. Especially those about dogs, and corona hair cuts.
The eyes are in the baby's fists. (He has his dad's eyes).
