People sure do love to take pictures of silly cats. So much, in fact, that a survey commissioned by a cat litter company found cat owners taking an average of 7 pictures of their adorable cats per day. Per day. (But cat owners aren’t the only ones—check out our lists of dog Snapchats, too.)

If you’re a pet owner, you’re probably nodding and saying that sounds about right. Even if you didn’t take any funny photos of the light of your life today, you probably can’t find anything on your phone without scrolling through the dozens you took trying to get the right shot a few days ago, so it all evens out.

Of the millions of pictures out there of funny cats getting stuck in inexplicable places, being jerks, and charming us into letting them use us as beds for hours nonetheless, we managed to limit ourselves to, oh, just 12 dozen or so of best snapchats.

Scroll down, have a look, and don't forget to upvote your favorite hilarious cats!

Basically, for as long as we as a civilization have had cats, we have been carrying them around like babies, complaining about how they won’t help out around the house, and making them wear goofy hats.

Accordingly, for as long as we have had cameras, we have been taking hilarious photos of them and accompanying them with funny captions.

It’s likely that any form of visual expression we invent will be used for cat pictures.

In 2018, Snapchat gave a shoutout to this huge part of its userbase by debuting filters for cats. It doesn’t look like these are still available, but while you wait for Snapchat to bring them back or introduce another round, you can try out this cat filter (for human faces).

Cats’ unusual reactions to the funny Snapchat filter have some concerned owners suspecting that their cats understand when they are looking at a reflection, a behavior which scientists have still not confirmed in cats.

The caption is spot-on. The big advantage Otis has here is that HIS ridiculous looks will vanish by themselves...

I had a conversation with a friend that told me this stray orange cat would show up on her doorstep every evening when she came home from work. She'd feed him, pet him..let him lay all over her couch. Then every evening around 8, he'd stand at the door waiting to be let out. She said, this went on for several weeks. Then one day she was driving home early and saw the same cat sitting in the window of the neighbors house down the street. Clever little bugger was working the neighborhood getting free meals and lots of attention.

OMG - We just recently got our first cat, so I started reading all about cats... I was SHOCKED when I found out they don't just pull out the nail, they chop off half of the toe when they declaw! So cruel! I'm so happy this is becoming illegal in more and more states now.

Cats don't always mean to scratch. They just have very sharp claws. My senior pats my face to get my attention and has been know to draw blood. The solution is to trim his claws, being careful not to cut into the quick. Just take the tips.

Exactly! My cat loves to snuggle and stretch in the lap of anyone she likes but unfortunately her sharp claws tend to come out while doing so. She’s so sweet though.

Cats are the pet we leave alone when they say let me go. Do not put your head/face on me. My grandson has had this happen a few times,

The way the boy is holding the cats face makes me think it's not the cats fault! Cats don't like that s**t :)

I wear my scars with pride! I know which one belongs to which baby. They are long gone now, but not forgotten. Yes, accidents do happen. They were all good and loving. R.I.P. my darlings!

It is very easy to teach cats not to hurt people. They are faster to learn this than dogs! Just shout, or hiss at them if they scratch, or put your finger in their mouths for a few seconds longer than they like, if they bite. No, it doesn't hurt them. I have never had to do this more than once, and I've had cats for over sixty years. I love them. Of course, NEVER use your hand like a cat toy, and allow, or encourage your cat to bite and scratch it.

hiss, yes, because a mother cat does that to her kittens, but shouting achieves nothing also, putting hands in your cat's mouth? WTF?

Maybe the boy played with the cat in a non nice way, even if accidentally and cat reacted in self defense. Children need to be supervised with animals until they are old enough to be nice all the time.

And maybe teach the kid how to play with animals in a responsible way. Whatever he's doing to that cat in the 2nd photo makes me want to blame some of this on the boy and his poor handling of that cat. Not surprised he got scratched.

As a rule, cats are not vicious without a reason, first, is the child too rough in play, or actually I have heard of cats that have a health issue, it could have pain you may be unaware of, please take it to the vet, a healthy cat, is a happy cat !!!

Perhaps a talk about how to treat a cat - or any animal - kind and with respect would do the trick too... just saying...

Yeah, short legs. He does this to be able to sit up a little straighter to alleviate his back pain. You’ve got to love designer breeds! Who cares about health, as long as it looks cute, right? *puke*
