Money might be the root of all evil, but we still need it. It helps us afford necessities and adds comfort to our lives. Conversely, the emptier our pockets and bank accounts get, the more challenging our days become. It can be hard to believe, but you're not a failure if they run dry; there are so many things out of our control. So to remind everyone that we're in this economy together, we at Bored Panda compiled a list of funny and accurate posts about (personal) finance, courtesy of this subreddit. Keep striving, stay resilient!

McKenzie Scott (ex Bezos) has also donated billions to charitable causes. E-loon Musk tweeted about her (since deleted), "Super rich ex-wives who hate their former spouse’ should filed be listed among ‘Reasons that Western Civilization died". Bezos and Musk ain't like her.

It's ALMOST as if the "Charitable Billionaires helping the world" is just a myth. How about we try something new and tax them ALL out of existence and use that tax money to better our world on a global scale?

Stop buying at Amazon for the convenience! Haven't shopped there in a long time, over a decade, and it really doesn't take anything away from my lifestyle!

What if you're disabled and use Amazon to bulk buy things such as Toilet Paper, Laundry pods, cleaning supplies etc... The things that you literally cannot carry yourself back from the store. It's not always about "convenience", it's about accessibility to necessary goods and also? It sometimes works out cheaper than buying things in store when you're on a limited budget.

The dissonance is that people who are hard-wired to be venture capitalists are the only ones capable of such insanity - and the least likely to give it away. They’re two completely conflicting ideologies. Capitalist = wealthy in dollars. Compassionate = wealthy in life

I genuinely have no idea why anyone wants that kind of money; if I came into millions (not even billions) of dollars, once I did responsible stuff like bought a comfortable house (not a big one, just a comfortable one), paid off my car and put some in savings, I'd be pouring funds into charities. What's the point in hoarding money you're never going to use?

Don't agree. Fixing issues in society is government's job. Not of private people. At the most , make laws to raise taxes on wealthy and use it for resolving problems in the society. It's irresponsible and somewhat dangerous to relieve the government of it's responsibility.

You are right, but unfortunately the corporations and capitalists don't pay their fair share of taxes, and therefore the government can't afford to take care of those problems. Funny that in places like Germany and Finland they manage to pay living wages and still have great social services.

Quote from the UN World Food Program: 'Up to 783 million people worldwide are facing chronic hunger. This year, we’re planning to serve 150 million people and need $21.1 billion.' So using those numbers and doing the math: it would take $110.14 billion to feed all those people for a year. Bezos has $198.4 billion, so his entire fortune would feed them for only 20 months. I think this shows how massive the problem is when it makes Bezos' fortune seem small. But also keep in mind that 50 years ago or more hunger was much much worse. We've made tremendous progress already.

The thing is, there is actually more than enough food being produced to feed everyone in the world. However, it is not equally distributed throughout the world and many places would have to rely on receiving the majority of their food from the countries that have the surplus. Then there is the fact that God is a commodity and so the sellers want the best price possible. There are cases in the US where literally tons of perfectly good food is not sold or given away on purpose to drive up the prices. They then have to throw it out. Freaking ridiculous.

Reading is honestly so beneficial :) those people that type things like “should of” instead of “should have” is often an indication that they haven’t read a lot of books. People who spell words correctly but pronounce them incorrectly is usually a sign that they learned that word from a book first :) scammers these days are actually relying on mildly illiterate people to not be able to notice small spelling errors in their emails or text messages that would give the scammer away….and those poor folks with a low literacy level tend to fall for scams at a much higher rate :( it’s really uncool

I started renting my apartment 5 years ago at just over $700/month. They can only raise my yearly rent at inflation rates as per my contract so I’m currently paying just over $800. The exact identical apartment across the hall from me just got rented out for $1490. Most of my neighbours are paying $1200 or more. For an identical apartment to mine. I’m so lucky but also very annoyed on their behalf. Eventually the strata will find a way to charge me $1200+ but for now I’m lucky as hell.

As long as they have the people locked into crippling debt, what else matters? The rich get richer and the poor get f**ked over every time. Think for a minute that maybe a bright, disadvantaged kid of had the inkling of the cure for cancer but couldn't get a scholarship because of their gender, disability, colour or religion? The crushing debt applied by institutions of higher learning and government is quite happy to forgo humanity saving intelligence, because there is no money in it for them.

I had a college math professor that would teach you how to do the math after the assignment. He would give the homework with no instruction. have us turn it in, then teach how to do it. Then, he would grade you to see if you had figured it out on your own and the grade would stand. I dropped that class after 2 weeks.
