How cool it was that we could "meet" and flirt with five, twelve, thirty-seven, even a hundred people on the internet without having to step our foot outside, we thought—for maybe an evening or two. But ask anyone who is actively swiping, and they'll tell you it's not that simple. The subreddit r/Bumble is dedicated to one of these apps, and it's full of screenshots its users took of all the bizarre bios and painfully dry conversations they go through on a regular basis. These pictures reveal what online dating really looks like behind the filters.

Actually for once jack said something sensible ffs, yes dating apps are for desperate sad losers, I’d never ever lower myself to use one, safer staying single, plus look at this thread ,they all unhinged 😂😂

Meeting new people isn't easy for me because I have social anxiety but I'll *never* be desperate enough to use a dating app. And I never wanna be involved with someone who's serious about using them. (An ex of mine was on a dating website for the laughs: he had long hair covering most of his face on his pics, but they showed him playing guitar on a stage. The result ? He'd get *tons* of messages from girls and even women nearly twice his age calling him handsome, asking if he'd take them on tour with his band and essentially only asking him groupie questions because they didn't care about him as a person, they wanted a rockstar boyfriend to show off.)
