The Internet Just Made Brendan Fraser Go Viral Simply For Being Awesome, And Here Are 30 Of The Best Tweets
It’s not every day that you see Twitter filled with no one else but the star of George of the Jungle, Encino Man, and Rick O’Connell from The Mummy saga—Brendan Fraser. And it’s not that he has overdosed on drugs, started a campaign defending anonymous knitters' rights, or his new movie is coming out next week. No, he is trending on Twitter right now for the sheer reason of people just loving him—for being Brendan Fraser.
Users on the internet and true fans of the actor decided to take a moment and just stop, breathe, and appreciate how amazing Brendan Fraser is. And as we admire that for a second, let us know at end of the article which Brendan Fraser movie you will be re-watching tonight.

I 100% agree with this. I totally appreciate Leo’s acting abilities, but personally I was never on the “he’s the hottest thing evarrrrrrr!” bandwagon in the Titanic era. Brendan Fraser however...
After he was a hit actor in the '90s and went on a sudden professional hiatus, fans started to miss the man. Mostly known for his role in The Mummy trilogy, he has starred in Crash, The Quiet American, and School Ties and also appeared in minor roles on TV every here and there, such as Scrubs. Some people on Twitter seemed not to have a favorite movie or have a favorite role created by Brendan Fraser, but were just so pleased to see him making the rounds on threads. So far the actor hasn’t responded to going viral and all the unconditional love his fans are showering him in, but one of the users imagined what his publicist would actually say about such a bizarre trend and it’s just spot on.
And since Keanu Reeves has blessed everyone with John Wick, we all probably deserve everyone’s '90s to return just like The Mummy did. One of his most recent works was Robotman in Doom Patrol, and now he apparently has landed a major project with the director of Black Swan and Requiem for a Dream, famed for not the lightest movies, Darren Arnofsky. And fans probably shouldn't expect one of his signature light-hearted comedy-adventure roles—this time the role is said to be of a suicidal overweight man in A24's upcoming production The Whale. At the end of the day, the actor's fans might also be very happy with a 4th sequel of The Mummy, because why not.
this! the man has it all, the entire Mummy, I was wondering HOW someone like this even exists
My family and I loved this movie. It’s silly and kinda dumb, but it’s “smart dumb” if you know what I mean.
Absolute fun !! ~ Brendan ( The name Brendan is a boy's name of Irish origin meaning "prince") Fraser is the epitome of innocence in this wholesome flick & what an all star cast !
This is my second favorite Brendan Fraser movie (the first Mummy movie takes the top prize). You can't help but love this actor's range. He makes fantasy believable.
I WAS WAITING FOR THIS!!! Christopher Walken made me want to live in a Bomb Shelter until... (say it with me) Quarantine lol
The story had particular meaning to those of us who were around during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Or those who play Fallout a lot.
I LOVE this movie! Brendan Fraser was absolutely adorable in the film.
That was a such a sweet, without being sappy, movie. I kept expecting to cringe during and was pleasantly surprised.
Maybe Nice guys don't finish last, Just takes them longer to be Appreciated
Awww, OneTopic is such a wholesome cinnamon roll and the fact that he participated in this is sooooooo awesome; frankly, this post didn't get enough upvotes at the time.
I feel like I can almost picture this but it's fuzzy, so I want to watch The Mummy again (like I need a reason lol)
Hey if you haven't watched Blast from the Past or Bedazzled you haven't watched some of his best movies.
Bedazzled is, imo, one of the best comedies of all time. Can't see a sunset without laughting.
Load More Replies...It's funny, I've always felt the exact opposite about him. For some reason, he just rubbed me the wrong way, and I thought actually seemed kinda smarmy, BUT after reading this article, and the comments posted here, I'm starting to realize that I was completely out of line in that assessment, and for that I'm truly sorry. Now if you'll excuse me, I feel I must go and rewatch some of his films, and interviews to properly atone for my transgressions, and egregious behavior.
Brendan Fraser in The Mummy was the moment I realised I'm not gay. I'm just aromantic who really really likes good-looking men.
Love this post! I'm so fed up of seeing articles about Brendan and others of that era with the tagline "you won't believe what so-and-so looks like now at age >50!!" spoiler alert, no-one over 50 looks like they did at 21, it's called aging. Gracefully or otherwise and frankly he may be older and heavier but I still would ;)
When I was 14/15 I had such a crush on Brendan! Around the time School Ties, Encino Man and With Honours came out. So many weekends spent watching those over and over!
If you've never seen him act with Sir Ian McKellen in Gods and Monsters, stop right now and watch it. Brilliant acting from Brenden as he goes toe to toe with one of our best actors ever!
Sadly his career was f*cked with because he was the subject of in-house abuse in Hollywood, by a powerful man who laughed it off. Sexual harrassment and abuse in the workplace is NEVER ok....Glad everyone is sending him some love...
Brendan Fraser has he perfect combination of untouchable coolness with approachable warmness. You care about the character he plays because he is a truly remarkable artist and from all I heard a genuinely wonderful human being.
I met him when I was in high school. Obviously he was super nice. But, OMG HIS VOICE. I absolutely _melted_ when he started talking. Like, whatever that quality is not replicated in his films! Before meeting him: just an actor I like. After meeting him: _huge_ crush.
Anyone see him in MonkeyBone? Slightly disturbing. He is awesome in general, which is the only reason why I watched that whole movie.
I had totally forgotten about that movie til I read your post! I can hardly remember it
Load More Replies...There was one that included "California Man" which was the title in other countries
Load More Replies...School Ties is one of my all-time favorites- chock full of Damon, Affleck, Rapp, Ivanek, Hauser, O'Donnell, and more. With Honors, The Quiet American, Gods and Monsters, Blast From the Past, Encino Man... They are not all great movies, but he's always pretty great in them.
I remember googling whatever happened to him sometime ago and seeing something about him being blacklisted by Hollywood. Anyone know if that’s true?

Load More Replies...Thanks for this- I was starting to think I was the only one who saw it!
Load More Replies...Throwing in “Of Gods and Monsters”. Have secretly loved Brendan since seeing and reading about him in a photography book called “Men before 10am” where he answers the door sleepy-faced and speaking perfect French. Happy to see the love is spreading!
Thank you for being the ONLY person to mention this film. I love it
Load More Replies...He was as creepy as he needed to be in The Affair. He is a very talented person.
Interesting characters, flawlessly executed, while being a good human being. He's just awesome.
Have been a Brendan Fraser fan from way back. And maybe not his best work but definitely one of my favs........ Encino Man / California man with Pauly Shore and Samwise / Bob himself Sean Astin
Anytime I'm asked favorite movie, my response is always "The Mummy". I stop whatever I'm doing and watch. That's what you gotta do for your fave! rick-60764...700925.jpg
I find him so likeable, I rewatch some of his movies over and over to comfort me. He's probably having fun with the voice overs, but I miss his adorable face and smile in the adventure stuff!
Catch him early . . . Gods & Monsters, Encino Man . . . and a bit later in Monkey Bone. He's entertaining. That's his job, and he is very good at it. These are movies you want to see over and over again, movies that make you happy!
Years ago I had a co-worker who would freak out about Brendan Fraser. Because he looked too much like Robert Downey Jr, who did the BJ scene in Less Than Zero. And couldn't accept that it was a totally different person. 20 years later, I wonder if she has seen any of the Marvel movies.
I have always loved and respected Brendan Fraser, both as a wonderful man and as a very talented actor. The fact that he is from dead gorgeous has nothing to do with it, nor that I fantasize about being Rachel Weisz in The Mummy, with Brendan. Nah...nothing at all....sigh...❤❤❤
hey about encino man, and then the cameo i believe he had in son-in-law at the party where paulie shore goes hey i think i know that guy
I loved watching him run after the horse in George of the Jungle. What a babe!!!!! Always loved him!!!
Why did he disappear? He was the flavor of the month for a while and then poof.
Apparently, he was suffering from pains due to the stunts in the Mummy films. Another reason he mentioned during Metoo is that he was victim of sexual assault and blacklisted afterward.
Load More Replies...Another (mostly forgotten) film is P**n Shop Chronicles. Star-studded film and Brendan Fraser as the world's worst Elvis impersonator.
