You've just ended things with your partner. Despite everything your friends are saying, the knot in your stomach isn't going away, and your mind can't produce a single thought about the future, only the past. Life sucks. But a new trend on TikTok suggests that all of this pain can actually be the best thing that has ever happened to you, if you channel it the right way.
In an attempt to inspire each other to get out of the rut, people are sharing before-and-after footage of their breakup glow-up.
Some heartbreak survivors got the bold hairstyle they always wanted but never dared to try, others dove into weight loss journeys or updated their wardrobe and picked up an exciting hobby... But the biggest change? Something deeper — a newfound confidence and genuine happiness shining through the wide smiles.

John 13:7
John 13:7, the title of the post is about Jesus washing the feet of the disciples, a job usually done by the lowest servant. When he's asked why, he says "what I am doing you do not understand now, but afterwards you will understand" It's usually taken to mean that sometimes, things, actions or events don't seem to make sense at the time, but later become clear. So I think this man is saying that getting through a break-up was the spur he needed to make healthy choices for himself, and now he understands that.

I'm not usually one to critique clothing/style, as I wear men's cargo shorts bought from Costco, but holy hell, those are both some fugly clothing/styles IMO XD She looks great; the clothing is absolutely a Lovecraftian horror in both pics.

Call me cynical if you like (Everyone in unison "Cynical!!!"), but it's sometimes the person who had the big upgrade in looks who does the leaving. They now think they can do better - and what "better" means for them can vary greatly.
I'll call you cynical, because I'm also pretty cynical. Maybe we can have a secret handshake or something.
Load More Replies...There's another post about how guys glow up when they get into a relationship. Apparently relationships are a female to male glow up transfer.
Sadly many people perceive a glow up to be a layer of make-up and become a doll /Kardashian lookalike. Towards the middle (I didn't go to the end) there were women who were wearing the same amount of make-up versie and sfeer and then you can compare. They look healthier, confident, well rested and full of life. To me that makes a glow up.
For every one of these there's another one out there somewhere showing dorks who blossomed into great-looking people once they got into a relationship. If these people are happy with their new looks then that's fine, but in reality it's not because they've split up, but because they've woken up. To real life. To their own potential. To, in some cases, un unrealistic ideal that could easily slip back into their previous habits if they're not careful.
Yeah that’s true for my bf. He grew up in a toxic family, didn’t know what healthy eating looked like, or healthy habits, and being treated with respect. He has lost some weight, and I hope I can continue to support him to a healthy bmi, and we can have a long, happy, and healthy relationship together.

Yes!! I've lost weight since I finally left my ex and moved back home last October! I'm under 160 lbs for the first time in like 7 years XD I was 180 lbs at my heaviest (when I was still with my ex and he told me that I physically "disgusted him".) I'm not super overweight and I didn't care that I weighed 160/180 when I DID weigh that much, but I do feel better that I'm approaching my "normal" weight again! I'm 5'5" and I think I'd be just fine around 130-140 lbs XD (weighed 145 lbs as of last night)

And not that they should have to but I feel like if people tried to this extent while in the relationship they might have lasted...? Again, some glowups are from people who were pushed down or abused in relationships and they're doing it for themselves. I absolutely applaud that. But it feels weird to want to work on yourself only after a breakup.
Anyone want to break up with me. It's going to need to be devastating. :)
Well, pre divorce or broke up , looks like all needed some self caring. All lost weigh, have better haircuts and are eating healthier.
Can you guys just be happy for people who are happy for themselves, like why are we judging them for the time they’ve decided to spend on their own life.
Because, people put others down to make themselves feel better and then broadcast it like they're better than them because, ugh if they pick apart the other person, attention won't be on them
