That's true, I had my first smartphone around 2010-12, can't remember exactly. And I am sure I haven't been amongst the first ones.

Those Nokia brick phones were literally the most solid phones ever. I dropped that thing several times I lost it several times and it was my mom's. And I always thought it was so cool to play Snake.

Oh, yeah. Remember the 2010s? The decade of flipfones? The author of this is obviously an expert! Even funnier, all three pictures seem to show a phone from the 2000s. The 90s one seems to be a late landline phone with a (then) fancy LCD screen.

There are a million websites that will allow you to download your favourite songs in mp3 format these days. If you want to build a collection, there's nothing stopping you. But the convenience of making a playlist of favourites and streaming is awesome. Even better, using one favourite song to generate a playlist that slaps is a really nice perk of the streaming era

The Adidas shoe soles were not protruding from the body of the shoe, either at the toe or heel. That allows for safer walking, keeping a natural walking stride. This loweres the chance of falling, which is important, especially as people age.

Old style sneakers lasted at least a year, usually until the soles wore out. I can't find one brand of modern running shoes that last more than 4 months before my feet wear through the lining and rub against bare plastic or even poke through the sides. I only buy from companies with warranties because I need to get a replacement pair almost every freaking time now.

When I was a kid I would have gladly died for a 90s-era T-top Camaro or any Shelby Mustang from the 60s. Then I turned 16 and I bought myself an '86 Mazda 323 XD When it died two years later, I inherited the '01 Volkswagen Eurovan my mom had bought (she was going to install a wheelchair ramp for my dad, but it was too expensive and we got a used van with a ramp already installed.) 23 years later, I'm still driving my big blue brick of a Eurovan. I don't think I could even stand driving a modern sports/muscle car - not after two decades of driving a tall van with near-180-degrees of visibility out the front and sides XD I'll still admire the appearance of some of the muscle cars (still love me the look of a Shelby 'stang) but yeah... too expensive, too small (I have two large dogs), not enough visibility.

What are we supposed to be picking/judging here? The faces of random female celebrities? The hairstyles of random female celebrities?

The Bangles. Girlschool. The Go-Gos. THOSE were "girl bands" because they were musicians.

However, the Bangles and Go-Gos were manufactured.

Dude, Myspace had us all coding and creating the best sites, checking new bands and being so creative. I miss that age of social media.

The only reason I got onto any social media was that when I finished high school, my friends kept forgetting to invite me to events because I wasn't on Facebook. I still haven't used anything else.

Can we please stop pretending that social media is anything besides junkfood for the mind? It just brings out the worst of the worst. Every year society gets a little more terrible mainly because of how people like Elon Musk and Donald Trump and their supporters use social media. It was bad enough when we just had the 4chan cesspool of misogyny and racism, but now they've all gone mainstream.
