I (a Canadian) was just in the States and they still take your credit card from your table at the restaurant!! Fortunately my birthday is 13.03 and not 12.03 which was my due date because this really does mess up us Americans. Same as September 11th, everyone else calls 9/11, meaning November 9th.
I have never understood why people don't use YYYY/MM/DD. Or do your watches and clocks show SS:MM:HH?
When I'm being told a date or reading one, I like knowing the month first. It's probably just me but hearing the month first sets the scene for me. How many months away. What we can expect from the weather (for events). Things like that. So I prefer that format everywhere instead of trying to figure out which format is being used.

When I am writing a date (im in america) I spell out the month, to make it easier for someone not from this country to understand without thinking. I watch a lot of British TV, so I see it written both ways
The US is one of the only places that typically formats dates as MM-DD-YYYY... It is mosly a historical accident that just stuck.
It literally shows the date in European format, which most Americans would read incorrectly. So yes.

I don't condemn this one too much tbh, if the product was actually sold in a US shop (not "imported" as in "someone brought it back from an actual German shop") they should make the date clear on it. If I go to a special shop here that sells stuff directly imported from other countries there is always a sticker with an English list of ingredients etc and a date in the formate that is used here...
This seems to be an amazon purchase though rather than a I-went-to-a-shop purchase?

When my Mom left Switzerland to follow my Dad back to the US, she often had to correct people that no, she wasn't from Sweden, but from Switzerland. She blamed it on the "Sw" at the beginning - and maybe folks just weren't paying enough attention to what she was saying, lol!

What amazes me is these younger folks who don't know what Google Earth is. I get they don't use paper maps or globes anymore, but the world is literally at your fingertips.
I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some, uh, people out there in our nation don't have maps and, uh, I believe that our education like such as in South Africa and, uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and, I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., uh, or, uh, should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future. For our children.
I couldn't finish reading this. I have concluded that the USA's primary failure is a lack of geography knowledge.

A kid in my class had to do a graded project about Africa and he began his presentation by saying, “Africa is known for the Amazon Rainforest and the Amazon river.” Somehow he managed to barely pass. His friend thought Italy was the capital of Rome. The worst story though was when everyone in my class were arguing over the capital of Manipur which they thought was Tripura. My teacher, my crush and I had to explain to them that Tripura in fact was a state and not a city
Yeah, I think I've lost enough brain cells for today. I'm gonna go find some wholesome sh*t.
