Only way to clean that pan is with a sand blaster set to maximum. Might need to add some diamond dust to the sand too.

I was depressed and my house was a mess. I asked a house maid service to help me clean up my house ´cause I wasn´t able to do it on my own. She cleaned my house and left me a small bouquet of flowers everyday. She cleaned my soul. You never know where help will come from.

My daughter also suffers from depression, and anxiety. Her room looks incredibly similar to this. I'm talking about the color scheme, etc. And also, the before. She too managed to clean it, once she had the correct meds.

So sorry for your loss. You have so much grief to adjust to. Tidiness isn’t all in life. It helps with feeling safer, though. Maybe you’ll find a friend, or help from your congregation, or a professional organizer once you feel you want to tackle your space. Take your time. It’s hard and maybe right now you just want to be sad. It’s allowed to be sad in a chaotic house. It’s ok to be overwhelmed. Phone a help line if you feel you’ve got no one.

Going through the same thing with my depression going on for a long time during covid. My entire home was a mess with in one room there was hardly room to walk on the floor. I was beyond discouraged. This may sound trite, I don't mean it to be. But it did start with the simple Admiral William McRaven saying. First make your bed. It's hard, but I forced myself. Didn't do the whole bedspread thing. Just pull up the sheets & blankets & folded them neatly over. Every time I walked out of the room I turned to looked at that nice made bed. Regardless of how the rest of the room looked, there was this nicely made bed. Eventually, with each passing day, looking at it started to make me feel a little better. I kept on with other little things & after, look at it during the day & felt better. Now, everyday the bed is made. It's a habit now. Clean sink before bed. I've had to work my way up. One day at a time. Weeks. But with each small thing I feel better & can keep it up. First, I made my bed.

With autumn blues kicking in, it’s easy to lose your motivation to do things, especially the ones that were never your favorite in the first place. For many people, it’s household chores. While others find joy in organizing things and sparkling transformations that take the house to a whole new level of order, others struggle to lift their finger and start.

So in order to find out where to look for that much-needed inspo to get your home in order, we spoke with Ivanka Siolkowsky, a professional organizer who helps others find that same inner peace in their daily lives. Ivanka is a former elementary school teacher who says her life was transformed when she began learning the many benefits of minimalism and organization.

My cat was using the couch as a scratching post, even though she has a bunch of other in the home, and noticed she was obsessed with my groceries bag (reusable one made with fabrics). I put a couple on the floor near the couch with a carpet and magic happened! She stopped using my couch and started using the bags with the carpet. Now I'm gonna try that trick to repair the damage.

Sealing is not hard to do, Cut the old sealant away with a Stanley knife. The trick is not to squeeze too much along the place to be sealed. Enough to fill the gap with a little surplus, release the pressure on your sealant gun, as filler will continue to come out. Wet your finger and run it along the filled gap and have plenty of old rags for wiping up, or strong kitchen paper.

The trick is peroxide and/or vinegar (separately, do not mix!). Chlorine bleach doesn't get rid of mold, it just removes the color from it. Chlorine bleach also can't get into most surfaces and just sits on top.

Ohh, I'm still waiting to get ADHD meds. Got the diagnosis 3 months ago, but still no meds because my psychiatrist sort of stopped working at the psychiatric unit, and now I'm waiting to meet another one. Trying to learn ADHD coping mechanisms and all kinds of methods to get organized is fricking hard when your head is still the same head it's always been and you've already tried all the methods multiple times over the years and they just don't work..

One thing that helps me is putting everything in a big box, not trying to sort everything right away. Once the space is cleared, I clean and then sort the box in big groups. Works also if I have to clean the whole flat. Anything that belongs in the bathroom goes in the box, etc. Dividing tasks/ objects in big groups works better than one tiny object at the time. And not trying to have everything perfectly organise leave that for when you'll have your meds. Don't organise things in a way that you won't do, but rather in a way that will work for you based on your habits. Ex. If you know you won't sort your silverware everytime put them in a tray all together. Still better than leaving them in the sink. Hope it'll helps. I still struggle with organising things but this system definitely helped me.

This gives me hope. I know I have ADHD but as an adult I feel stupid about getting tested. I need meds because I can't succeed in what I need to do (online classes) without them. I'm also a terrible housekeeper. I put off cleaning because I know once I start, I'll be at it until 4 in the morning and one small area will be a showcase while everything else will still look like a tornado hit it.

My 21 year old daughter is very intelligent but motivation and job starting is impossible. The basement is exactly like the above. She says she cannot move on it alone and can't see it the way we do and "doesn't care". We are by no means neat and super clean but this is getting worse and harming our relationship. I suspect her university issues and this is due to ADHD but the psychiatrist won't start Wellbutrin and doesn't buy the ADHD idea. Now she sits in life not feeling any motivation and not caring. Looking into Kava Kava as suggested. It helps to see that sahe is not alone.

I've had Major Depressive Disorder since I was 14. I'm 40 now and not much better. My bedroom is a mess of clothing. 75% of my room is clothes strewn about. It kills me to admit this, especially on the internet to strangers, but it's my life. Years of switching meds, psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and one thankfully unsuccessful suicide attempt have not made things better. Just today my 19 year old niece offered to help me clean. You don't know what it means to me to have even a stranger acknowledge that it's the depression that causes many of us clinically depressed people to live in messy spaces, that it's not laziness, etc. I've been told time and time again that it's pure laziness when it is in fact the depression.

It probably is very depressing, after a while. Does the thought of getting on top of this make you overeat in front of the telly in your bathrobe? Or do you flee from your space and aimlessly drift about? Some people are just not tidy. They can function very well living like this. For others it’s impossible.

For anyone who’s worrying that tidying up will require maximum effort and a huge budget, Ivanka reminds us that tidying isn’t about spending money. In fact, “it’s about learning how not to! Don’t go out and buy a bunch of organizational supplies! Do the declutter and purge first,” she said.

That's amazing! I'm glad you had a really good day!

It’s one thing to organize your home once, and a whole new other challenge to keep it that way. Ivanka suggests that in order to make that effect last, you need to address your patterns of consumption at the source. “Don’t buy things you don’t need. Once you’ve gone through and decluttered/organized your home, make sure everything has a place. At the end of every day, take 10 minutes to do a 'room reset' and put everything back where it belongs,” she said.

“If you desperately want to buy something new, only do so to replace something that may no longer be serving you,” she said, arguing that this will keep your home in order!

Post op without anyone else to do daily tasks adds up to a mess fast! Between pain and exhaustion from healing and anesthesia fatigue, doing ANYTHING, even the minimum daily task, is exponentially exhausting. Add depression on top and it's a really hard mountain to climb. Glad you have healed both physically and mentally and could make your space into something you (and your pretty cat) are proud of!

Reminds me of my favorite grandma. She always helped out in the kitchen, and after her visit we had to call her several times as to where she put the _____. It guaranteed lots of post-visit phone calls for her...no fool my granny!

Tackle the mountains one after another. The key to getting started is to set a goal for the day that is realistic and that you can reach. "CLEAN THE ENTIRE HOUSE!" is not it. Start in one room with one particular corner, organise it, throw away stuff you don't need. You did well!

I get stacks of papers and envelopes scattered all over my house and desk. When I get to the point where I can't stand it another second, I gather them all up, from wherever they were left, and take them to the dining room table. Then I go though each piece, one at a time, and either toss it into recycle bin, trash bin or make other stacks. A stack for receipts and medical reports that I want filed. A stack of things I want to read. Then a stack that needs immediate attention, like forgotten and almost overdue bills, special offers I want to take advantage of, etc. The key is being brutally honest with yourself and throw away stuff you know you will never get around to, won't have time to do, or can be reconstructed by on-line research if necessary. Ends up not taking nearly as long as you think it would.

It works great for all kinds of fabrics but you need to be careful about it also. Going over the same spot too often or the blade accidentally sliding sideways can cause a hole in the fabric. I've used razors many times but I prefer the little battery operated trimmers with a mesh screen, so you don't cut your fabric.

Some people in the comments are asking what the middle handle is for. It controls the water flow. It can direct the water to the showerhead or the bathtub because this is a build-in shower in a bath. The handles on the sides control the temperature

I actually did this also. The circle thing in middle pops off to expose a screw. Unscrew and they come off and I just scrubbed with dishsoap and an old toothbrush. It makes a huge difference. They get so slimey.

That's what I'm wondering too. Because on the left you can see shiny areas that look like what's left of lacquer and the dull part in the middle. If they had oiled the board, it would look darker like the lacquer. Unless they sanded the entire board but there's a dark spot in the halfway down the board, in the darkest section and it looks larger than it should be, even allowing for the pic on the right being slightly larger than the left. I kinda think the board was flipped over 🤔 imho. Edit: Also notice the teardrop looking area on the right side of the board, on the right side pic, it almost reaches the bottom but not quite and under it there's a dark narrow mark pointing up to the teardrop area. But it doesn't exist in the pic on the left. Idk why people feel so compelled to lie for attention.

When moving a few years ago my son in law pulled out my stove with 15 years of that yellow oilly build up down the sides. I have moderate bone loss so I can't do it. I had a spray can of "Tuff Stuff" , we sprayed the foam cleaner on both sides and it pretty much just melted it away. Several wipes to remove the liquid and it was gone. This product cleans almost everything. Carpet, upholstery, rims, metal, wood. It has removed axle grease from my winter coat when I pre treated it. I haven't found anything that it wouldn't clean for me yet.

A lot of it is actually caused by fabric softener and dryers. Softener basically breaks down the fibres, creating lint and shortening the life of the garment. Don't use softener and air dry.

It's toxic. A lady at work decided to clean our shared office toilet and ran out of her first product, continued with a different product, it ended up being bleach then ammonia based and caustic fumes were seeping into the office. You could actually see a fog from the heavy amount of chemicals she used. She couldn't even get back in to flush it. It seeped down the hallway and into other offices. We had to open all the exit doors to the administration building and have maintenance bring fans to pull the fog out. It finally cleared enough for safety to put on goggles and cover their nose and mouth with a towel to run through the smallest office and flush it. Then they had to write a safety exposure report and incident report. It happened at 9am and still smelled harsh at 4pm.

To remove cooking stains, especially red wine, from the interior white enamel, wash as usual then fill past the stain line with water. Add at least two tablespoons of Oxyclean powder. Bring to a boil and watch the stain disappear!

Clearly you've got a white theme going in your kitchen, otherwise I'd be very confused why you bought a white Le Creuset, known for their brilliant enamel colors.

Beware, cleaning someone else's house without asking isn't always welcome. Some people see it as a way of saying "I think the way you keep your house is dirty and gross"

I once cleaned a friend's coffee pot; the clear glass was stained black, you couldn't really see through it. Well, the friend didn't really like that I did that, he said that the stain gave the coffee a distinct flavour that he liked...

I can no longer do so many things, and it embarrasses me to ask for help, but when I was in the hospital for pneumonia, I came home to a spotless house. My landlord/co-worker and her daughters had realized how hard it had become for me to do these things. I was extremely grateful, and they swore themselves to secrecy.

Beautiful job but if that was my house and I came home to a new and improve bathroom, I think I'd be embarrassed before being angry. But it was a nice guesture.

It's a dramatic transformation looking at the before and after together, but I still wonder if the friend would even notice.

I've heard that jet dry (dishwasher stuff) is good for cleaning glass but never tied it. Have also used very fine grit steel wool for water spots.
