Russian Makeup Artist Lets People Experience What He Calls ‘A Cinderella Effect’
Vadim Andreev is a miracle worker makeup artist who's trusted by many of his clients across Russia, including Instagram supermodel Natasha Koroleva, among others. Andreev loves to upload his progress on his social media, showing the old and the new look side by side, which he calls "a Cinderella effect," by which he means that he enables his clients to get the overall style that they want and deserve.
He has told Bored Panda one of a few reasons why he likes to do these comparisons: "I always liked the idea of magical transformation. I always want people to feel wonderful, refreshed, and beautiful. By creating my before and after photos, I wanted to show that we can look different and express our beauty in different ways, and it’s fun."

I think it's too bad that he's made her face so white compared to her body, because otherwise it looks stunning.
Beautiful, looks like Francesca Annis in her early days, she is a British actress!
He's one of the lucky few who have found their passion at a young age and who's still happy and proud to do his job. "I started doing makeup when I was a child. I came to makeup school at 16 years old. Now, after 20 years passed, I still feel happy and excited when I do my glam work."
Concealer is good for like 10 years. Eyebrows will get you to 20 lol
Load More Replies...She has aged well to begin with. Her skin looks good even in the first picture.
Thing is these people were beautiful before, their lines are smiles, their eyes a window to wisdom.. but also seriously good work, they look amazing after too :)
And he doesn't think he's the only one able to do these magical transformations. He believes that it is within every woman's grasp. "Every girl can feel amazing by changing her appearance and revealing something new inside herself, but still remain who she is," said Vadim Andreev.
Green makeup is actually used to smooth out excessively red skin. It shouldn't show up as green in the final look though.
Load More Replies...Hey KT, your d**k belongs in your pants, not your personality.
Load More Replies...It isn't the first time Vadim has been featured here on Bored Panda. You can find his previous photo comparisons here and here. And, if you're a fan of makeup transformations, you can check out the posts about other talented makeup artists like those that work in Hollywood, or Melissa Murphy, for example. Either way, if you believe in the magic that Vadim performs, follow him on his Instagram, and become one of his 40k loyal followers! Enjoy!
I really love what he does, but if he did that on me....imagine the disapointment after removing the make up, knowing that i am not able to copy his work, and doing my own make up the next day, hating myself :D
I think I'd still like to have it done once. Just to see what the potential is that I had if I COULD do it by myself.
Load More Replies...Yeah, it's a good makeup job, but there's definitely some Photoshopping going on here. Neck is smoothed, face wrinkles smoothed. Which is fine if you're not trying to portray your transformations as purely a makeup enhancement.
This might also have the angle of the camera at work here as well. First image is a full frontal shot, the second is at a higher angle so she is tilting her head. The angle of the shot can really do allot and expert use of makeup, not going to discredit the photoshop maybe there is who's to say
Load More Replies...Definitely Photoshopped ... can't this makeup artist stand by their craft? Do they really need to try to fool people?
I think she could learn how to do this on her own. Make up tutorial and she's there. Not too tough on her.
Okay now this I like. Unlike many of the other photos she still looks like the same person. Her beauty was accentuated and her unique features not covered up to look like a creepy photoshopped cookie cutter celebrity photo.
Yeah it definitely looks great and not too much. An everyday look.
Load More Replies...Agreed! she does look great. BTW your comment made me think of Borat lol
Load More Replies...I feel like mascara accentuates the eyes so well!! Especially blue eyes. I’ve always wanted to wear mascara but my mom won’t let me 😞
I don’t see the same person. eather this is a different person or hat is photoshop
more sophisticated, side ponytails, and that terry tee made her look like a kid.
Eye makeup and hairstyle aged her significantly. She looks like Pam in 1993 if she still dressed as The Pam
The make-up shading makes the difference but she doesn't really need it. She's cute as a button
Women deserve to look glamourous at every stage in life. What a beautiful lady.
Yowch!! That's a TON of foundation. So much is doesn't blend well with the skin on her chest.
Everyone frowns in the before photo and smiles in the after photo. :-D What an amazing job he's done on so many different kinds of people. Just amazing!
Just wondering...was this person born male and then changed or no. Or is this person a drag queen? I’d love to know just out of curiosity 😉
Either way it does not matter, they look georgeous either way. I don't know why you were getting downvoted, you were just asking a quesiton
Load More Replies...I saw Kardashian/Jenner at first... but more examination, she looks like Kyle Richards
How can you tell? I can hardly see her eyes in the 1st photo.
Load More Replies...If he's so talented, why is he using facetuning on these pictures? Not convinced.
It's a faux-hawk-- I think it's pretty cute.
Load More Replies...I like how you refer to people as they and not her 😊❤
Load More Replies...Her complexion looks amazing in the BEFORE. Glad she has a natural lip color in the after. They eyebrows help immensely.
Halfway between these photos there is a great look. Between the two, I prefer BEFORE.
😂🤣😂 " Sorry, I overslept my alarm, and there's a blizzard outside" Loving that hair in the first pic! How gorgeous is this girl? WOW! She must have been so much fun to work with, they must have just agreed to go for broke!
I wonder if he's using "skin filler". It's like a cosmetic putty to fill in things for pix but it's ridiculously easy to see in person? I think it's called "Skin filler". That's what it was called when my one friend got her wedding pix done and they eliminated the scar on her forehead, filled in the "divot".
Ye, the beautifier effect removed the mole from her neck. Why do people insist on promoting unrealistic beauty standards, she looks fine to begin with 😑
yeah well I can see the faint outline of the mole it's probably just covered in concealer. But I do think these are edited.
Load More Replies...I liked her better on her first one. She looks real. The slightest bit of make-up is all she needs to be a knock out. All that makes them look like Barbie dolls and stiff.
Her eyebrows were beautiful to begin with... why add all that makeup to them! Still beautiful either way!
Theymeant in a good way, I'm not sure why people downvoted you, so I opvoted you.
Load More Replies...You can tape up the double chin. Lots of the differences here can be ascribed to photographers' techniques, such as lighting, chin position and turning of the face, in addition to laying on the makeup with a trowel.
Another nose change. And, gee, we all look better if done up for photo shoots with pro hair and makeup. And with a filter or two added. Oh, and where's her GOITER?!
She looks good but she can be taught to do half of that and be fine. It's nice to have family know who you are. You have to be yourself.
This is a gorgeous makeover. Not too dramatic and doesn't hide her beautiful features but merely accentuates them.
I much prefer this makeup look instead of heavy eyeliner and hooker lips.
What happened to her lovley freckles? Don't hide that natural beauty!!
Why did he facetune her wrinkles out? An older woman does not need to look like she's had her face ironed and spackled to be considered beautiful.
She seems a little young. Let's not make kids look like adults; they'll get there soon enough!
It is funny how so many of these women go from looking like a friend or neighbor or family member (aka a real person) to someone you would feel awkward talking to? Just me?
No Nicole, you are exactly right. Her smile is cute, not grumpy.
Load More Replies...I think her eyes had a lot more... pop? effect? (idk, they were more prominent?) in the before pic, but she looks lovely in both!
Do the majority of these people look totally artificial/plastic? Sort of like the girl who transformed herself in to Barbie...
I agree with all y'all! The made up versions of so many of these women look so generic they all could change places and no one would even notice!
She already had amazing hair. In the after photo, she looks like the best features of Meryl Streep crossed with Carrie Underwood.
No, because this guy's hot. Robert Pattinson lost his hot after Harry Potter. Or, at least, Twilight's makeup effects did nothing flattering for him.
Load More Replies...I think the artist uses too much foundation but I am jealous of their eye make-up skills, having no idea how to do a smoky eye myself. And flipping heck, what concealer do they use cos it’s amazing!
It's a filter app, I think. I can't remember the name. Also,, makeup for photos can be incredibly layered and heavy, and in person then look *hideous*!
Load More Replies...I am not for make up, and I am not against make up, but dang, the makeup artist got skills.
he can pretend it's all makeup but there is so much photoshop in these pics! ridiculous. neck wrinkles gone, etc.
This article taught me that I should probably always wear false eyelashes. Besides, it seems to me that there is also some Photoshop (at least soft focus) involved...
they are all gorgeous to begin with, but if they want to use makeup, and they feel more confident like that, i think they should go for it!!!! <3
These are all glow-ups. But the cool thing about the older people’s glow-ups is that you get a glimpse of what they may have looked like when they were younger. I would’ve loved to have seen their younger pictures for comparison.
