Even if I wasn't poor I would buy most of my clothes from the op shop (thrift store). It is pretty common where I live (except maybe in certain suburbs) for people (mostly women) to brag about the deals they have gotten from the op shop. I have a handbag shaped like a book that has gotten a lot of compliments and at least twice it has led to me chatting about deals from op shops with random women at the bar.

I looked this up thinking it was fake. Sadly it's not. It gets worse the more you read. It wouldn't lower the age of marriage to 9 for just girls. Boys would also be able to be married at 9. It would legalize unregistered marriages which are often used to get around child marriage laws. It would also remove the rights of divorced women to stay in the marital home and get financial support from the ex-husband.
