I’ve Been Using Art To Cope With My Illnesses/Disabilities And Sharing It On My Instagram To Inspire Others
First of all, I want to say that I have Aspergers Syndrome; so, apologies, if my post seems a little strange in comparison to other posts (and this is my VERY 1st post, so please go easy on me). I cope with multiple illnesses & disabilities that make daily life a huge struggle (e.g: post-sepsis syndrome after traumatic bowel rupture in 2013, below-knee amputation after 10 years of CRPS, type 1 diabetic & PCOS/endometriosis, just to name a few); so I do what I can to keep my spirits up. One thing I rely on is my iPad, which I use daily, but I’ve also been using it to create my own art through the “YouDoodle” app & I will often share these pictures on my IG account, with the hopes of making someone’s day just a little bit better. I’m not saying I’m skilled with art, by any means. I merely enjoy creating the pictures & I share the ones I like. I swear, I don’t do it just to get likes/follows, either. I just thought I’d share here, too, with the hope that even one of my pics can inspire good feelings. Hopefully, I won’t have to endure anyone being mean about all this, though. Anyway, hope you like them (& if you DO want to see more like these; you can have a look at my IG account… but only if you want to, of course).

Thank you so much & my deepest apologies for not replying sooner. I know you didn’t ask for an explanation, but I’ve been offline for at least a whole month, due to my PCOS/endometriosis flaring up quite badly (I’ve been told that I’m not entitled to any treatment, though, so whatever). I at least consider myself lucky to have my blue-eyed boy Tardis still watching over me in spirit through the worst days & his older adoptive sister “Aria” (my little 6YO chihuahua) has certainly helped me to cope with the loss of my baby bun. Anyway, thanks again for your kind thoughts & god bless. 🥲🐕💖🙋♀️🐇

I loved your drawings, and they really brightened my day! I love funky colors. A lot of the characters you drew were very prevalent in my childhood, especially Winnie the Pooh and Carebears. I got more into Alice in wonderland as I got older. Thanks for sharing your wonderful works!
Aww, thank you so much! I’m so glad you got some positivity from the pictures I shared (& the more colours, the better)! I have to admit, the Cheshire Cat is definitely one of my favourite ones, too. “Alice In Wonderland” is an incredible story, without a doubt (& I do have a fondness for children’s books, probably mostly due to my Aspergers). I may be 34 years old, but I’ll always be young at heart. No harm indulging your inner child, though, right? Anyway, thanks for your kind words. So much appreciated! 😊🎨💖📚

Thank you. I’m so glad you liked it (& the Cheshire Cat is one of my favourite pics, too)! I do like to take my time with them, but mostly it’s because I get carpal/cubital tunnel syndrome, so I have to take a lot of breaks. The finished pic is always worth it, though. If you wanted to make pics like these yourself, the YouDoodle app is free to download & use, via App Store & it’s fairly simple to figure out. Even though you can use your finger to draw, I would recommend using an iPad pen or other brand of stylus (I use a “PONY Stylus”, which you can get tip refills for, is fairly cheap & works just as good as any Apple Pen). Anyway, thanks again! 😊💖🙋♀️

It’s nice, but you cannot claim it as your artwork when you have traced others’ art and straight-up stolen and re-colored others’ work/lineart. That is art theft, copyright infringement, and in cases of the ones like the Pokémon, the Care Bear, and your Pusheen trace, it is trademark infringement. You can do all of these, of course, but you can’t call it your artwork and you should credit the source when you do so. I’m an artist myself and a high-functioning autistic person/ADHD/you name it, and I know the frustration and sadness that occurs when others take your art and trace it or re-color it. What you are doing, to try and cheer others up, is noble, but credit the sources you are taking the original art from. And “well, everyone else does it” is not an excuse (not implying that is your outlook, but I have heard that from others who have done the same thing.)
So, you’re basically calling me a criminal, despite the fact that I’m not doing this for profit or to gain popularity? FYI; I actually asked my mum & my older sisters about the very thing you’re speaking of, because I don’t like doing stuff that is immoral. They told me that as long as the images were being distributed for others to use, I was perfectly okay to use them; as they’re colouring pages for people to print out, colour & display. So, apologies if I’m naive for trusting my own flesh & blood when they tell me “no, you’re not going to be sued for using a cartoon character on a colouring page”. If you still think I’m the absolute worst person & deserve to be punished, tell me as much; I’ll consider deleting my BoredPanda account & never coming back. 🤷♀️😕
