Close your eyes and imagine an artist. What do you see? A tweed beret, a painting brush, a scarf, a Yann Tiersen song playing in the background? It’s incredible how much we get caught up in cliches and stereotypes.
In reality, artists come in all forms, backgrounds, cultures, styles, and whatnot, and you don’t need to carry around a portfolio that weighs half a ton to prove it.
Just take a look at the #Art vs. Artist hashtag challenge that has been surfing around on Twitter lately. Artists are sharing their portraits and artworks side by side to show how their creations reflect (or not!) on their appearance. View it as an experiment whether art does show on a face, but remember that you’re the one to decide, 'cause there’s simply no straightforward answer.

It's about time men shift their focus to what women bring to the table not what those women look like. So yess! That is the beautiful art and the artist, well not your business. If it was a man wearing a cat custome it will b ignored.
Not all women who wear hijabs are oppressed, I do not deny that in some places women are forced to, but there are women who actually like wearing it ,so stop the hate!
Yes! In a non-oppressive country, the hijab is optional. I know of many Muslim women who don't wear it.
Load More Replies...Love the intense colours in those paintings... :) [PS love the black cat too :D]
My one of my dreams is one day to go and pray at the Blue Mosque. Stunning portraits, both of them.
You will! They don't care if you are a she or a he. Go for it! As long as you are a human being being good, you woudnt feel bad, but feel protected by everybody.
Load More Replies...yes it takes a lot of faith for that, great job!
Load More Replies...Bored Panda reached out to Mxrixha, the painter behind the viral #artvsartist post which amassed 1.1 million likes and 166.9k retweets. The artist who goes by the Twitter handle @muslimahpaintsx told us that after her account was recently suspended, she lost out on all her audience and assumed business had gone down.
“I then made a new one and put my tweet of art vs. artist up again, and it drastically hit hundreds and thousands,” she said. Fortunately, her new account brought in a bigger audience and more customers than last time. Mxrixha said: “I was so overwhelmed by the support and positive words.”
The painter said that her inspiration is based purely on the meanings of the Quran and herself as a Muslim. “A lot of my inspiration is taken from the trials and tribulations of this world and the goodness and rewards that come to you in the end,” she said.
When asked if she believes in the link between the artist’s appearance and their artwork, Mxrixha commented that “there’s no particular link with my appearance and work other than they’re both Islamic.” She added: “I wear this jilbaab/hijab as it’s been ordained upon me and the paintings I do are specifically only buildings and/or nature.”
Moreover, she doesn’t paint any type of humans and/or animals “as it’s not permissible, I wouldn’t compromise my beliefs for anything.”
Indeed, this is talent!!! At first glance, I even thought these were photos...

Like many viral things on the internet, the #Art vs. Artist hashtag challenge started as a meme. It was a test to see if artwork reflects the identity of its creator, as many assume. Artists would post the hashtag along with a selfie surrounded by eight of their selected art pieces.
The hashtag quickly blew up all over the internet, and artists from various genres joined in for the challenge. Soon, it outgrew its initial memesy-ness and became a fun way for creators to represent themselves on social media.
In reality, #Art vs. Artist allows the creator to present their best work for enormous crowds of people on Twitter that wouldn't be possible in the real world.
A common early artist anatomy tip is to redden certain areas of high blood flow, like noses, ears or cheeks. I'm guessing it became part of her style. :)
Load More Replies...I'm under the impression she is painting herself
Load More Replies...Most definitely self portraits. She may move to other subjects too
Where’d you get them? I want one. My parents have similar ones in their home but they got them oversees.
Load More Replies...Beautiful <3 just have to make sure that you guys treat them carefully as these are normally verses from the Quran.
Yes! This one means "iqra" "read!" and is the 96 verse of the quran, first one revealed. It welcomed me, read! is not a bad word, and an open book is not, i really like it and value it, i love it, if my house burn i will try to save it before my phone. 20201004_1...ec3c46.jpg
hey . im a Muslim myself . i really couldn't agree with Maryam Siddiqui . I don't think its wrong if a Non Muslim wanna have Quran Frame inside their home . If their intentions is good , i don't think i personally have a problem with that . In fact i was proud if a Non - Muslims put this beautiful wording in our Quran verses in their home . May their home fill with love and peace always . Maryam . You should have known better if you really a Muslim . Don't be too aggressive towards this non existing issue your created . You just makes people hate Muslims more if you behave like this . This not our Prophet Muhammad S.A.W wanna us be like in this modern days .
May their home fill with love and peace always is the sentence right.

Forgive my ignorance. Is it all just design, or is there writing too? Either way, they are beautiful!
They are both. That's why they are amazing.
Load More Replies...What if it’s a modern take on a mini portfolio? In times when self-promoting is a quintessential part of a successful career, showing a selection of your best work can be game-changing. One hashtag can help artists to build their following fast and boost their brand name with minimal resources.
Before social media, curating a solo exhibition, inviting buyers, and making connections with curators was a hell of task every up-and-coming artist had to do. Today, it’s no longer the case.
I like the strong, bold colours. It is a very expressive portrait.

That painting looks JUST like my good friend! I'll have to show it to her.
Skunk hair ?! People pay to have this silver ombré look , it's beautiful
Delightful imagination. Enjoy her varied topics and themes but, why is grey hair so important?
Cartoons a wonderful medium..One can see their story revealed in them all
YES. Hands down. The paintings are gonna give me nightmares
Load More Replies...im reading at night and now i think im gonna get nightmares. good job by the way ;)
Oh wow, I like the one in the far left of the middle row. Would be a lot more beautiful if she had more clothes on, but stunning nonetheless.
Are you implying she does not have a beautiful body?
Load More Replies...Can't we see more of those pictures? They're so good! <3

these are actually pretty nead with the glittery, shiny elements. I would like to see what else she can do.
Hnnnn, I wish I had money to commission dice from her. Because those are gorgeous and there's so many set ideas I'd love.
These are all awesome, but some could stand to lose the cotton candy background.
To those people critiquing this picture, please show us your own art so we might compare...
Okay, first of all. It's common sense to not insult the artist or call anything "crap" when criticizing someone's work. It fine to criticize, but be respectful. Point out what wrong about the painting if you like, but watch your mouth. This is a thread for people sharing their works and people may see and enjoy them. If you don't like something, move on, no one needs to hear what you have to say, but if you really can't contain yourself, please use kind words to criticize not belittle someone's effort.
Justin...I cannot argue with that...and on reflection I feel more than a little ashamed...I'd like to apologise to the artist and to other panda's. it's my hope that the artist continues to paint and seeks tuition to develop her style...no point in giving up because I was wearing my asshole jacket is there? Thanks Justin....taken on board x
Load More Replies...All these art critics and no one pointed out that she just painted her own Mona Lisa, naive art style. The pose, the river on the background... You can dislike naive art, but she nailed it.
For those who called this artwork "garbage", and think it is inviting judgement, please give some details. Is it the colour that's not right? The brush strokes? Tell us, it would be interesting to learn something, and I'm sure the artist herself would love to hear some productive comments. But don't bring up your "nine-year old", or comparing it to other works, just focus on this piece. Tell people where it can improve, and not just belittling the work and getting pissed when some people ask for why you think it's bad.
I like the intense colours of the sky and the emerald sheen on the river...
Children! Children! Please! We are each different in our own way with our own opinions of what is right, good, best, or beautiful. But, as we all know, beauty, and art, is in the eye of the beholder. Rather than argue further on that point, I suggest we spend more time, some more than others, either learning or brushing up on our manners and supportive skills. Oh, yeah, throw in a round or two of tact training while you're at it. You may think it's okay to degrade someone's passion and work so carelessly but just remember that Karma's a bitch. Yomay think it's ok to s
Always?? In the shower, when asleep, when making out, while watching TV in your own home, while eating lunch, while walking alone in a deserted field...
Yes he has that special look about detail of life and character tales
Your face looks absolutely fine, and absolutely normal. And your art is fab x
Another shining example of an artist brave enough to carve out their own niche by producing works with their own distinctive style.
I’m sorry about this but in my opinion bakudeku kinda sucks (again it’s my opinion and you are still totally valid if you do ship them) I feel like tododeku and Kiribaku are more likely to happen, But the most canon is ocheku (idk their ship name) and the author of bnha said that kiribaku is very likely to happen so....
Omg , they're all awesome ... but I love the random cute cartoon on the bottom right !
Perhaps cosplay is the art. It takes quite a bit of skill to make really good outfits. No doubt.
Load More Replies...Toph from ATLA (far right middle row)! Cosplay might not be a physical drawing or painting, but it does require a lot of work and dedication just like everything else! :)
I love painting the skulls of my enemies after I have vanquished them.
Load More Replies...Love the art. Peculiar way to sit though. Not sure whether that's really necessary.
That model almost looks like she knows how to hold a paintbrush. Almost.
She's not hanging her ass out. She sitting comfortably in a chair painting. Why so hostile? Jealous maybe? Sounds like a classic case of I'm jealous so I'll put her down. If you're a woman you should be supporting ALL women. She's doing nothing wrong
Load More Replies...Proper artistic credit should go to the programmer of the filter algorithm used on the photo on the right.
sadly, yes. I bet she looks beautiful under all that fake. SHOW YOUR REAL FACE, PEOPLE!
Load More Replies...Since people are confused, I think he designed the puzzle. I wish the puzzle design was more interesting, but someone out there might like it. Each to their own. :)
I don't understand why they are confused, seeing how the artist's name is on the puzzle box.
Load More Replies...I love that puzzle, it's so satisfying and the colors are so nice and complete-feeling.
I like that the anime type paintings are softer than most anime art . To me it seems like an updated look of anime .
A lot of artists start by mimicking a cartoon/comic/painter. Some just get really good at it and never stop. ;)
Load More Replies...wow, and uh... impressed that you were brave enough to show your face with that art piece!
the last one (bottom right) looks like something from The Dark Crystal and I'm LIVING FOR IT
I commend your attention to hair detail LMAO that takes some WORK
Why is this downvoted?!?! D:< You DARE downvote the Avatar Kyoshi!?!?
Time and again I am amazed by the artistic abilities of people... I like the personality that shines through much of the work. I wish all these artists a successful career- may they be paid to pursue their passions.

i literally suck at art, but i want to like it and do more. seeing other people be great artists makes me lose my self esteem but also i feel like i need to improve a LOT to get to their level. no hate to them though

they all are very talented in their unique way to express their self through their art
