26 Rare Photos Of Celebrities Hanging Out In Venice In The 50s And 60s
You may be cool, but you'll never be "Dalì-Throwing-Gang-Signs-On-A-Gondola" cool.
These pictures come from one of the biggest photographic archives in Europe, Cameraphoto studio in Venice. Among the 320,000 negatives conserved in the archive are over 50 years of history and culture in the City of Water. From protagonists of the cinema to artists, bizarre invasions of elephants and eccentric characters, walks on water, unlikely inventions and adverse weather conditions - all this and much more has passed through the lens of the agencies photographers.
All this coolness needs to be preserved and handed down to future generations. In order to save the original negatives of these photographs, the owner of the archive launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.
The purpose of this campaign is to raise sufficient funds to digitize the original photographs and obtain copies of the images in high resolution.

Uh he was so gorgeous. He'd give guys today a run for their money.
So cool, if you ever get a chance watch him in a movie called HUD, highly recommended flick if you like old movies that is.
I adore this picture. I think he really was maybe the most handsome man on earth
What a handsome man, I got an entire page dedicated to him, a bit much but I cant help myself
This was easily one of the best looking men ever to grace the earth and his heart was also beautiful.
He is probably my husbands favorite actor, we NEED this picture for the rec room!
Sophia Loren

When people were not only gorgeous, they were talented, and knew how to dress.
Salvador Dalì
Brigitte Bardot
Why were celebrities of this era and past more beautiful than the ones we call celebrities nowadays?
Accentuated natural beauty rather than over-inflated lips and Essex-eyebrows.
Load More Replies...Alain Delon still IS a well known celebrity all over Europe. ;-)

I love her. She is timeless. I watch her and Lily Tomlin on "Grace and Frankie" (Netflix) was/is gorgeous
I have no time for Jane Fonda once she betrayed American soldiers to the Viet Cong government. How any one can praise her is beyond me. These young men were there fighting and dying for the rest of us at home and this privileged b--ch turned over personal info to the enemy the men had entrusted to her. She should be ashamed to show her face in the USA.
The purpose of the Vietnam war was to prevent a communist take over of that region. How was that America's business?

Maria Scicolone, Sophia's sister, got married with Romano Mussolini, son of the italian dictator Benito Mussolini. Romano Mussolini was the "rebel" of the family, playing "negro jazz" during the '30. He used to play jazz on the roof of the summer villa of Mussolinis, and someone reported to the dictator Benito Mussolini this thing. He called the son and asked him "Is it true you playing negro jazz on the roof?", Romano Mussolini replied "Yes", and the dictator said "Well, if i catch you playing that music, better you stay there on the roof and don't come down"...

A friend of mine told me a story about being at the zoo when he was a little kid and he noticed something strange about one of the elephants, so he asked one of the zoo employees "excuse me miss, but why does that one elephant over there have 5 legs?" Its not surprising that elephants have very large penises, but my friend said that this particular elephants penis much bigger than average, making it look like he had a 5th leg from the angle my friend was seeing it from🤣
Is the guy in front Sean Penn or Matthew McConaughey? I'm also seeing a young Tiesto standing there on the left .

Totò
The "prince" if italian comedy. Like a fusion of Jerry Lewis, Buster Keaton and Bob Hope. He was born in Naples, as illegitimate son of a lady and a marquis. But the marquis never recognized him as his son, so when he got famous and rich, he bought a noble title of Prince. his name was Antonio De Curtis, but after the title, the name became: Antonio Griffo Focas Flavio Angelo Ducas Comneno Porfirogenito Gagliardi De Curtis di Bisanzio. His generosity was proverbial. At the top of the success, he used to go around the poor streets of Naples and handle thousands of banknotes to people who needs. He supported and patroned a dog shelter for hundreds of dogs, sponsored a house for young mothers and dozens of other philanthropist organizations. If you get the chance to watch any of his movies in YT, with english subtitles, give it a try. And choose "Miseria e Nobilta'" :))
David Niven
I love this actor. He's made too many good movies to count. But I think my favorite is The Guns of Navarro
Ernest Hemingway
Marcello Mastroianni
You bit me to it! So I'll just write "il maschio". The essence of Italian class.

Load More Replies...Just fantastic photo's from an era that is lost. The trail park trash mentality of the ' actors & actress's ' nowadays will never compare to these class acts.
