Earlier this year Intricate Icings' amethyst-inspired cake created by Rachel Teufel went viral and now we're seeing these delicate desserts pop up everywhere. Made completely out of edible sugar, I must say, the rock candy accents make the cakes look pretty bad ass. Take a look below and let us know what you think!

I would order a garnet, amethyst and pearl cake... and also a rose quartz cake...
When they're done right, it's a beautiful piece of art, but too many of these look like the female hoo-ha.

I think they're downright ugly. No doubt took epic amounts of work to create, but I don't see the appeal. To each his own, I guess.
I'd like to see a Peridot , Amethyst, Lapis Lazuli fusion.... I mean geode cake
