Pareidolia is not just a simple mind trick making you see funny faces on things when there actually are none. It's no sign of psychosis coming your way either, but rather a quite complex, pre-historical self-defense mechanism. Yes, it's true, seeing unlikely faces helped our ancestors survive; if you presumed that the rustling bush has a saber-toothed tigers' face hidden behind the leaves, chances are you'd run and save yourself if there actually was a beast lurking in the greenery.
Bored Panda has compiled a series of cool photos in which your mind might perceive a pattern that isn't there. It also turns out that you are more likely to see them if you're a woman, as women are better at reading faces. Pareidolia is also a good sign of a well-developed judgment in dangerous situations and decision making, so if you see all the faces in the funny photos below, you can tap yourself on the shoulder for being a well-adapted human being.
Now, scroll down for our picks of the funniest faces seen on the most boring everyday things or caught by perfect timing in the clouds, and if you feel that these weird photos are not enough for you, we also made a list on Times Everyday Objects Were Actually Pop Culture Icons In Disguise.

All Dogs Go To Heaven
The movie is perfect as well...awww...good childhood times.
Load More Replies...Dogs have such a genuine unconditional love. They are angel from God and of course they should go back to heaven.
I read that they've added a second statue showing them reunited.
Load More Replies...Dog: "Was I a good boy?" Death: "No... I was told you were the best."
Part 2: About 3 minutes later he comes trotting back into the bedroom, jumps up on the bed with that full box of tissues in his mouth (he was holding the box so carefully like he didn't want to dent it or something). That totally blew my mind. I was so proud of him. Once I got well I taught him to bring other things to me. He even learned how to open the fridge and bring me a Dr. Pepper. He was so smart. It's been 17 years since he passed, but I still think about him every day. And I still miss him. If anyone has bothered to read this far, and you have pets, you should look up a poem called "The Rainbow Bridge". It's sad, but it's also beautiful. And I firmly believe that my Rascal and all the other furbabies I have loved are waiting for me on the other side of that bridge. (I have a small female furbaby now, her name is Baby. She looks a lot like Rascal, except Rascal's fur was all white and he was a little bigger, whereas Baby's fur is mostly black with a white blaze on her chest.)
Part 3: If you want to look up the poem, just type in:: The Rainbow Bridge Poem in the Google Search thing. P.S. If you actually read all this I want to Thank You. I apologize for writing a book about it. But, sometimes, when I start talking (typing) about Rascal it's hard for me to stop. Again Thank you to anyone who read all of this. I hope you have a Happy New Years.
Load More Replies...This reminds me of my Rascal. I got him on my 16th birthday. He was the 1st dog I ever had that was just mine. He was a rescue doggie, (I didn't even know that he was a Maltese until years after he passed). He was with me for 16 years, and he helped me through some of the worst times of my life. He was the smartest, softest, most loveable, cuddly, and overprotective little furbaby/best friend I ever had. He always knew if I was feeling bad, whether it was a physical problem or a mental one. I remember one time when I was sick with a cold or something and I ran out of tissues. There was a box in a different room, but I was too weak to go get them. That's when I found out how smart he really was because I asked him..."Rascal, could you go to the living room and bring back the box of tissues in there?". I showed him my empty box and a couple of wadded up tissues. He tilted his head at me, barked once and ran out of the room....continued>>>>>
I think God is letting us know that YES! Dogs do go to Heaven! To me, it makes sense that when our physical bodies are no longer needed, God DOES care about ALL his Creations! God bless ALL animals, their environments and the people who are passionate about them!
I love this photo. I've seen it before and it's so comforting and peaceful
