What used to be a woman's size 12 in 1968 is a woman's size 4 today; what used to be third-class is economy-class today. What changed? We've grown more sensitive: I'm not overweight, I still fit into a size 12. I'm not a third-class passenger: I'm a price-conscious individual that rides in economy-class.

Despite the name games, airline food hasn't changed much. Economy class meals still come in a wrapper, and business class meals come with real cutlery. This list shows the sometimes striking difference between what the different classes eat in side by side comparison photos.

What do you think about the differences in airplane foods? Submit your comments and food menu photos below, and remember: cheap flight food isn't bad because it's cheap; it's purposefully bad to encourage those with money to buy upper-class tickets!

The first class dishes really looks like japanese food. It has wasabi and vegetables in sakura forms.

why do airlines think people who are fool enough to shell out the extra dosh to buy the business/first class tickets can be trusted with cutlery/real glasses?

Agreed until this picture, I always thought 'The economy food looks more appetizing and it looks like there's more of it. '

Never mind " Oh Canada! " It's "a for f**k's sake Air Canada" If I paid a s**t ton of money to fly business only to discover that economy were getting perfectly 'Al dente' green beans while mine were boiled to death ( again see above posts) a gravy that's disappeared and bread rolls that look like snapping turtles , I'd be kicking off big style bruv !

That is not Air Canada Business, that is premium economy, their Business meals, and set up, are far superior to this. You get what you pay for. Airline tickets are 50% of the cost now, compared to the 1970s. So are aircrew wages. Stop being so cheap. You're flying through the air in a chair, at 900km/hour.

Air Canada without a doubt had the worst airline food I ever tasted. Wasn't even edible. They served me frozen vegetables and when I asked politely, if u could have a salad instead, the flight attendant got mad at me and told me no and said some people preferred their vegetables frozen over warm. Huh?!

I feel like you should be offered the same food no matter the class your in. It should be more based on how much your willing to spend for your meal, not where your seated. On the ground if I wanna go somewhere and eat steak darn toots I will, should be the same in the air. All they need to do is ask when your setting up your flight what meal you want, not that hard. lol

Delta has decent food, however you get a main course, an appetizer (not 2 like in the picture) and something sweet like a small candy bar. You get bread and margarine (no cheese, I got spoilt by Qatar and Etihad, sigh) and in Economy your selection of drinks is sort of limited compared to other long-haul airlines.
