This Guy Used His Drone To Deliver A Burrito To Himself

We all can imagine some day in the future when our food will be delivered by drones. A Los Angeles-based filmmaker Max Lanma simply could not wait for that day to come. In a new video, he took to the skies to see if he could deliver a burrito to himself without getting out of his chair.

The adventure was a lot more intense than expected. Lost signals, low batteries, and high winds will keep you on the edge of your seat.

I asked Max what inspired this crazy idea, and he told me: “I love burritos and I love flying my drone. So, this was something I have always wanted to try. After I became friends with Alex, who owned the taqueria down the street, it became fate.”

You may remember Max from the viral Used Car Commercial he made for his girlfriend’s 1996 Honda Accord

The “Burrito Drone” rig that Max made was simple

The rig consisted of his drone with a rope tied to it and a bag on the end to carry the burrito. He clipped on $10 cash to pay for the burrito.

First, he called his friend Alex, who owned the taqueria down the street, to place his order

Then he flew the “Burrito Drone” down to Alex’s Taqueria

After Max lowered the drone down, Alex came outside

Max used the drone’s built-in camera to navigate the flight. When he got it down to Alex, the drone lost signal for a few seconds, causing him to panic.

Alex took the payment and placed the burrito in the bag. He gave the thumbs up and Max flew away

Max was happy to have the burrito on board. The flight back went smoothly

But by the time he was ready to land, the drone was running out of batteries and the wind was going crazy

Thankfully, he was able to land it safely…

And enjoy his burrito!

At that end of the video, Max shared the sad news that since they filmed the video, Alex had to close down his taqueria. Max started a GoFundMe to help Alex launch his new taqueria

So far, the GoFundMe has raised over $600.

Now, who’s hungry for a burrito?

It’s obviously much more than that, but I appreciate the variety of topics, information, and pics I get to see every day and share with the world! Those funny memes really make my day too. Being born in the ’90s in post-Soviet Lithuania speaks more about me than I’d like to admit. I’m still learning about the world and myself, but I do love my friends, traveling, art, and my cat. My favorite fact to share about myself is that I used to hide meatballs in my friend’s pockets at lunch so I could go play outside. I wish all those meatballs could find their way back to me someday.

Who filmed the air shots? Another drone? Also who filmed the shots at the taqueria?

Sad that many small restaurants are closing. Especially when places like Ruth's Chris gobbled up all the "small" business loans.
