I remember how we complained so much when we had to rewind a tape. It seemed to take so much time but didn't take that much time. Seems so trivial now. I still have VHS movies and watch them. Some of them takes less time to get to the movie than having to put up with the unskippable ads and intros on some DVDs.

I was seldom allowed on the computer and never allowed on the internet without my mom right there, hovering and usually taking over for me. There's actually a commercial in the late 90s or 2000s,I recall, that depicted a mother at the computer with her teenage daughter in a playpen, and the mother is asking the daughter what music to download and burn onto a CD. Then the mom is like "You're not trying to download any of that rap music, are you?" I could swear whoever came up with that commercial knew my home life. (It actually may have been a Street Cents skit, a show for youth covering all sorts of issues.)

I'm glad Kids Help phone still exists. My daughter called it one time when she was distressed by a friend and didn't know what to do.

i miss these themed store fronts. Rarely was ever able to afford anything in these stores, but I loved window shopping. We didn't have the Warner Bros store, but we had The Disney Store with the stuffy mountain and a screen showing movies.

This is why I liked Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High. Real teenagers used for casting, who wore their own clothes and they had input in the script so that their lines were what real teens would say.

I am in possession of my brother's collection of original TMNT action figures, including all of the first editions of the turtles, the sewer playset, and the Technodrone playset, among others. Unfortunately they were heavily played with, so nothing in collector's condition. As kids we played together that the turtles and the Ponies saved the day from the evil Barbies :D
