30 Illustrations That Blur The Line Between Drawing And Reality By Luigi Kemo Volo
Italian artist Luigi Kemo Volo is probably best known for his photo montages where he inserts Disney characters into real life, but he uses other brilliant ways to play with perspective as well. For example, Luigi's other illustrations, the ones that haven't made it into reality just yet, are just as playful. The artist makes them interact with real-life objects: pencils, lighters, you name it. What's also very cool is that his works are always keeping in mind the character they're depicting. Extending their personality, if you will.

Since he was a child, Luigi has always loved Disney movies and was a big fan of many Disney characters. He was also very passionate about drawing - comics and animations.
However, fortune was not always on Kemo's side as his creative desires were difficult to fulfill due to his financial constraints. He started his work career as a full-time bartender and also had some odd part-time jobs as a photographer in different ceremonies or taking up advertising campaings. He got into the arts sphere in 2002 when he started doing some street art and later on also worked as a writer. 10 years later, he began his journey into the depths of photography and in 2014, became a freelance illustrator.
"When I'm trying to choose a character for my new drawing, I usually let my mood pick one," Luigi told Bored Panda. "I then stare at the blank sheet of paper for a long time, thinking to myself 'What fun could happen to them?'"
THe moment you realized that you say to yourself that you can do this but in reality when you try it looks like this: *a piece of dog poop*
"I don't really know how to describe my style. I just try to illustrate the picture that comes to my mind," the artist explained. "Since I'm a graphic designer, many times my work gets a little repetitive and boring, so I take some time to create and relax before going to sleep."
Great pic, but it would be a shame if he damaged a good sketchbook! unless, the match is a drawing too?!
He probably blew it out right after the pic so the sketchbook survived with minimal damage
Load More Replies...Luigi added that he's very happy to read the comments by people who like his art. "Some tell me 'It looks so playful, almost childish,' and that's exactly what I'm going for."
Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon? Or ask the pencil shavings where they've been?
I love this! Is there an actual Edward scissor hands animation?
*finished todays inktober like an hour ago* Fascinating manipulation...
Okay... not seen it, might not bother if I see it on tv...
Load More Replies...The tops of the pencils are real, he made slits with a razor and very carefully pushed through, the bottoms are drawn in.
Me too - tapes his eyelids open and the whole of the back of his head gets dragged to the front! It's hilarious.
Load More Replies...This is from one of my favourite Tom and Jerry cartoons Sleepy time Tom. These drawings are so beautiful and really really clever.
I am starting to get the idea that this artist loves fire... Slight pyro myself, can't blame ya. Really neat illustration!
It’s confusing. The lighter is right there, so I’m assuming they are real?

This is making me feel oddly uncomfortable, hear me out. How would you react to a kid holding human shaped balloons?
I think he has the real pencil laying there with lighter drawings of pencils surrounding it, to give it an illusion? Pretty cool.

I watched Lilo & Stitch for the first time like a week ago and this is adorable! <3<3<3
*My math notebook* Oh who am I kidding? I'm not nearly that good. You're drawings are so cool with how they manipulate light and space...
I was going to say a Disney joke about money, but I couldn't think of one.
i was the fifth grader that did that then went around and stabed everyone
that would be hard to get a pencil shaving as perfect as that without breaking
Nah, depends on the pencil. With my good pencils, shavings like these and longer are no problem.
Load More Replies...Liar liar pants... oh wait, not on fire this time. Still awesome though!
the thing that really f***s me up is how is his legs NOT shaved and how come he doesnt have a F*****G BEARD!?
Tarzan of the Apes states that he shaved his face - "True, he had seen pictures in his books of men with great masses of hair upon lip and cheek and chin, but, nevertheless, Tarzan was afraid. Almost daily he whetted his keen knife and scraped and whittled at his young beard to eradicate this degrading emblem of apehood. And so he learned to shave–rudely and painfully, it is true–but, nevertheless, effectively."

Most of the time Disney always disgustingly ruins stories and characters but Zeus in this case is way way better then the sick bastard playboy/rapist that Zeus was
True. They probably had to do it that way though because A) Kid’s movie B) Disney

I don't think there's one of these pix that doesn't qualify as amazing!
