This 12-Year-Old Tattoo Prodigy Is Going Viral, And His Works Speak For Themselves

Ezrah “The Shark” Dormon is 12-years-old. He isn’t old enough to get a tattoo, but that’s not stopping him from tattooing other people!
The Panama-based pre-teen tattoo artist was first inspired to pick up the ink gun when he watched his mother get a tattoo at Honolulu tattoo shop. Noticing Ezrah’s keen interest, the owner of the shop, Ali Garcia, let the youngster fill in a part of the tattoo (with his mom’s permission of course!) and the kid’s been hooked ever since. He’s already inked about twenty people, plus countless oranges and grapefruits (they’re good for practice apparently), all from the Honolulu tattoo shop where he’s studying as Garcia’s apprentice. The owner has taught him how to draw various designs including panthers, swallows, snakes, roses and sharks – the latter being the boy’s signature animal. Ezrah has even tattooed his own math teacher! While there’s no doubt that the kid’s got talent, not everybody agrees with him wielding an ink gun. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.

This 12-year-old isn’t old enough to have a tattoo
But that doesn’t stop him from tattooing other people!
Sometimes he practices on oranges and grapefruits, but he’s also tattooed over twenty people as well!
His name is Ezrah Dormon, but people call him The Shark
He was inspired to pick up the ink gun after watching his mom get a tattoo at Honolulu tattoo shop in Panama
With his mom’s permission, the owner let Ezrah ink a part of the tattoo she was getting
After that, he was hooked
The shop’s owner, Ali Garcia, has been showing him the ropes ever since
He’s taught him how to draw various designs
So far he can draw panthers, swallows, snakes, roses, and – of course – sharks
Garcia lets Ezrah practice at the shop
He’s even tattooed his own math teacher!
There’s no denying that the kid has some incredible talent
But some people weren’t sure what to think
Others however had nothing but praise for the youngster
What do you think?

There are geniuses of every generation and in many fields. Perhaps this kid is one of those. It is NOT wrong to allow him to peruse his passion, it is only unusual at best. If this is what he likes and he is good at it, what the heck is all the commotion?
A big concern might be legally, in the eyes of the insurance company. If something were to go wrong, I seriously doubt they would cover the damages. The shop owner needs to really think this through better.
Ever hear of a waiver when I was tattooed by an apprentice I signed one saying that I wouldn't sue in case of a mistake. Another part of the waiver said if any part of the tattoo was messed up it would be fixed for free.
I'm SURE the shop considered all these risks before hand. Try taking the stick out of your ass and enjoy this sweet kid chasing his dreams.
First of all a waiver signed by the kid and parent would take care of him getting hurt or whatever, promising they accept the risk etc.
Nothing here was forced. Either way, you don't get a say in how they run their business. They're helping a nice young man learn his passion.
Second, I'm sure this kid has only tattooed CONSENTING adults. If you read, it seems his math teacher sought it out. I'm sure others did too
You might look into the way insurance works and hiring practices. I'm not talking about mistakes, I'm talking about injury. Say the kid falls and hurts himself, or accidentally hurts another... he's not a legal employee and that gives insurances an easy out. Workmans comp? How's that going to work? Sincerely, this is asking for litegious nightmares for the owner.

You think he's a genius???? For drawing very easy 2 dimensional sharks? I mean, I'm all for the kid tattooing, I think it's awesome, but never would I call this kid a genius!
have YOU ever tattooed someone before? its not just the drawing part that is involved. you got to consider the strength and pressure you apply to the human skin. the different needles to choose from. the constant vibration the gun that makes it hard to keep steady. all the shading and coloring that goes into tattooing. not to mention all the hygienic safety precautions taken before and after each session. that's a lot to bare at a young age. ive seen older guys who draws horrible. give the kid alittle credit....
he seems to have nailed the old school style quite well.... for a 2-D shark

The main problem is that tattoos are permanent and classified as an open wound leaving the body vulnerable to pathogens.
True, but they are not regulated by medical practice beyond the very important hygiene standards that tattoo shops adhere to, which they will definitely have him abide by. That could be a huge liability for them, so I'm pretty certain they will make sure he does things by the book, and I doubt he would do it unsupervised. Also, the people receiving the 'procedure' are consenting.
if you know basic hygiene, keeping a tattoo clean while healing is up to the individual, going to a shop with a good reputation and a shop that will explain with details, answering any question of their procedure, their methods of sanitizing equipment, and giving you well detailed after care.
My tattoo artist's studio is cleaner than most dentist's offices.
That's not a problem. I'm sure he's learning proper sterilization and had to do things properly
Laury, I'm aware it's just we stereotype 12 year olds as not being capable of following those guidelines.
So?
For the record, I'm still ok with him tattooing. I just wanted to tell you what the commotion was about.
He's following an apprentice path, lots of practice, patience, prep, and protection. He's not doing them prison style with a BIC pen. Keep up the hard work kiddo.

Do you use a pay_pal.. because if you do you can get an extra 2000 week after week in your paycheck just working on the internet for 2 hours each day. check Good Luck_____________ http://cutt.us/wGzd
It's amazing that his patents support him in something he loves. There's no such thint as being too young when you have a gift. Younger kids in other countries handle real guns and do damages, while this kid is doing great art and hurting no one. In my country a lower class 12 year old is having babies...shouldn't they be considered too young? CONGRATS TO THIS KID AND HIS FAMILY!
