Anyone know why?

There are studies that show it may have to do with yam consumption. Not the yams that are also referred to as sweet potatoes in the US, but actual yams. (This naming error occurred during the slave trade and Africans called sweet potatoes by the name yam as it was the closest thing they had on their continent). I do not remember offhand why, but it has to do with the effect on hormone levels I believe.
