If you're not a socially awkward introvert it's difficult to explain to others how you feel in “those” social situations, but these comics by German cartoonist floccinaucinihilipilificationa come pretty close. From those practised phrases coming out wrong, to saying goodbye to someone and then walking in the same direction, it's all there. And if you want some more socially awkward comics, check out this this story!
We previously covered some of this cartoonist's work here.

I didn't know it was torture to make a phone call for that many other people.
Funny how people who won't shut up ask those too polite to interrupt to speak...
I dont have any friends. I turn off my phone cause no one in 2 years call me. And Im definitly happy!
I wouldn't be able to give them the finger until I was half way home!
God i HATE it when people do this, especially my friends, because i have high expectations of them to know that im nervous or have nothing to say but im just ledt to feel like doing the action in the last box.
Worst time was when I was at a funeral trying to tell the family how sorry I was for their loss.
Last funeral I was at I said 'Thank you for your loss'.

seriously, this happened to me. i ordered a hot grande latte at starbucks. had it read out in my mind atleast 5 times before my turn. my turn comes up, and silence.. i mumbled out venti grande latte.. hot please. he asks me if what size, i answer "hot" WTF
Reminds me of how when you are in a foreign country standing in a similar queue mentally practising your request - then it your phraseology comes out all wrong when you are at the top of the queue.
Introverted does not mean socially in-adept. Wonderfully introverted people can treat social situations like a breezy art- they just may not prefer social jobs, BECAUSE being an introvert means it 'drains' to be in social company for too long. You need an unusually more frequent or longer periods with just one close person or no one at all to 'recharge.' There's the college definition.
How do you like your eggs? Umm cooked?..no how, scrambled poached fried lol hahaha
When they ask that question I often say the opposite of what I really wanted: "For here! I mean, uh, to go!" My mouth is faster than my brain. X(
I go for long walks every day. Sometimes I'll see that I'm about to overtake someone going in the same direction, and I have to decide whether to speed up and pass them quickly, or slow down so I never catch up, or turn around--all so I don't have to spend a minute walking alongside them and maybe have a conversation.
Sometimes I even start walking in the opposite direction and then secretly change my route back to there I actually need to go so I can just avoid such situations :))))))
When 2 people walk into each other and both try to move for like 70 times.
Or the awkward moment when you both turn the same direction and you mash cheeks together
Second that. I'm an introvert and I dig horror movies and thrillers and such. Never had problems to sleep because of them.
Load More Replies...Everyone is either introverted or extraverted... So it doesn't say much about someone's personality. Most of these portray neurotic personality traits. If you recognize yourself in them I think you really should consider getting professional help. I don't want to put anyone down, but I am totally serious. if you avoid people and justify it with your "introversion" and think you're somehow special because of it and people should just accept you without anything in return, you may end up alone and very unhappy. Being an introvert doesn't mean you have to be a socially awkward recluse. It's necessary to accept and love yourself with all your faults, but if you have serious issues and you are aware of them, but are unwilling to change, I can't respect that. The progress that you will make in your entire life may not be huge and you probably never will be the soul of a party or a leader of men, the key is to want and try to better yourself. Otherwise, whats the point of these insights?
Oh do I get this, just had my hair cut, never contradicted her idea. God, I hate this, but never said a thing!????
Even worse is when you think that someone is waving at you and wave back, only to find that they are actually waving at someone behind you.
Load More Replies...it's true... I do this... but I actually prefer it cuz otherwise I feel like I'm like in the way of them talking (cuz I don't walk and talk either... how did I get friends....????)
because introverts are usually nicer and more understanding
Load More Replies...Guess, please let me know when you figure out how to get friends. I have none....Not even one. The only friend that I had died 8 years ago. And, the fact that I never go anywhere makes it extremely difficult to meet new people. And I don't trust people.
I don't know what your situation is Tammy, but I would guess you're a senior? I really don't know what kind of options you have to participate in something that might attract people of interest to you, but of course going out and preferably doing something (taking a course, playing sports, church etc.) is a must, unless you want to try making friends online. But I would think that most people want to have "real" friends. I found that making friends is all about having the right attitude. It is important that you actually ENJOY the process of making friends - and once you start to feel more comfortable, you will enjoy it as it is incredibly rewarding. Keep your mind and heart open but don't waste time with people who are fake or boring or stupid and pursue relationships with people you admire and respect. Take a genuine interest in people. Most importantly, don't try to pretend - it's obvious and a huge turn-off. Be the most positive and interesting version of YOURSELF! j4yd0h@gmail.com

People shouldn't feel bad about these things because they happen to everyone. Yep, you're normal :)
Yes happens if you're an introverted (and I suppose you're one of us), but belive or not, but the mayority of the population not like us.... (though these things happens to them, but not like an everyday like routine) And introverts not means shy....an extrovert can be shy as well, just for them it is a little bit easier to grow out from their shell, then for us.....there are introverts who can really act like an extrovert for days, but then they need some introvert activity (passivity), to regenerate.

I hate the fact that introvert is synonymous with social anxiety. That is not what introvert means. Introvert is just someone who does not seek out social situations because they find them draining and prefer to be alone more. I have zero social anxiety and none of these apply to me, but I am an introvert because the best time I have is hanging out alone. I have lots of friends but, when I spent time with them, there's a definite clock on how long that social engagement will last because I will get tired of being with people and want to be somewhere where I can be alone.
Being someone who has social anxiety (but likes people), I also don't like how everyone mix introverts with social anxious people.

8 years ? pff. i salp my self in the face sometimes for stuff that happened when i was 16 .i'm 39 now
To be honest whoever made these have no idea what an introvert is. Most of these are signs of extroverts even. And introverts dosent have to be socially awkward either. They can be, but it dosent define them. But extroverts can be socially awkward too. Again dosent define.
