Hurricane Irma is already larger, stronger, and potentially more fatal than Harvey - and it's not over yet.

Irma has sent the Caribbean and several southern States into crisis mode after reportedly destroying '95 percent' of Saint-Martin, Barbuda, and the British Virgin Islands. Millions of people have been left stranded and homeless with no access to water, electricity or phone service, and at least 10 are dead. The Bahamas and Cuba are bracing for a similarly devastating impact, as is the State of Florida, which is currently being completely evacuated.

Scroll down to see chilling photos of the damage caused by the harrowing storm so far, and if you are in an area at risk of being affected, heed all warnings by relevant authorities and make your way to a safe place. If you would like to help, find more info here.

I was in south Texas waiting for Harvey, we put the chickens in the bed of the truck with some wood shavings (it had a camper shell). But this idea is brilliant!

I just put my goats in the back of my van. They don't travel enough to justify the expense of an animal trailer and they've never pooped in my van, so this works as far as I'm concerned.

A bunch of roosters does not equal c**k fight. Roosters are just male chickens, and everyone claiming that these are fighting birds has no idea what they are talking about. These birds actually roam wild in the area and someone went out of their way to save them. https://www.google.com/amp/amp.miamiherald.com/news/nation-world/national/article171996022.html

Actually they weren't blown off at all. Those building lacked lateral support. The roofs are probably about 8' from where they used to be, the buildings all collapsed quite neatly.

Maybe these regions should reconsider their building requirements. I live in an area considered to be of high possibility for earthquakes and the construction requirement correspond to that. There wouldn't be so many houses destroyed and such a devastation.

Good to see the buildings behind with their windows covered and still standing. It shows it is possible to build to withstand a storm like this. If only more could afford to do so. Imagine how much easier the recovery would be each time if more buildings were built stronger.

Big freaking whoop, the shelves are empty that means everyone bought all the water, the title of this said pictures that prove just how bad hurricane Irma really was, none of these pictures are even that bad at all, hotels are still standing while after Katrina the casinos were knocked off the foundation and Blown across the street, mainly all I'm really seeing in these pictures just looks like allot of cleaning up, it doesn't really look like anything really needs to be rebuilt, after Katrina it took YEARS just to get all the dead bodies up and some of the cleaning to be done. I'm glad everyone is basically okay but this hurricane was not all that bad at all

The problem is these dolphins cannot fend for themselves in the wild as they are used to human care and they are not even from this ocean, so they wouldn't fit in with their kind. One might hope they would have stuck around so that they can be put back but as someone who has worked with them it would be better if they were free even if a short time rather than go back to a life of giving humans rides for food. This place will probably go back and buy more dolphins, creating more demand and slaughter in Taiji. It should be outlawed!

Do you realize that they didn't actually keep dolphins, the attraction took people out onto the ocean to see dolphins. I don't understand why you have to be so rude even in a time of tragedy.

More like the color on the first one were doctored to be more attractive to tourists. The bottom one look like it's been taken without taking the time to adjust the camera for the shot (like most people do).

Sad for this person who lost something they most likely worked hard to acquire. People who leave negative comments are the same people who have no idea how much work it takes to start a business from nothing and make it prosper, often on your own before you can hire people to help you. A lot of rich people are rich because they worked hard for their success. Good for them.

Probably clearing leaves and debris from a storm drain to try to help relieve the flooding. Happens all the time in hurricanes - the storm drains get clogged up.

Its interesting. Hurricanes and tornadoes aren't "solid" things even though they look it. Think of them like dancing ribbons of air. They spin and flutter about. What they hit gets hit HARD but the pressure is concentrated. So those few feet do make all the difference.

Yes. Maybe they don't have enough containers? Some of the emergency advice I've seen is to fill your bathtub. There are even collapsible containers that you can fill that will fit your tub if you'd rather drink out of that. BRB, going to order a camp stove, winter is coming

it's so hard and sad to wait for the hurricane to pass, thinking constantly of your house, your relatives, your friends...I think Madame got also a knee surgery on right knee, making worst the actual situation...

Stefano Aprea, you are very observant, and as I've had two knee replacement surgeries, the woman pictured above has my empathy. Thank you, Stefano, for your kind words. Blessings to all affected by the devastation.

sometimes these small bars on the beach are the fruit of years and years of money saving, or an effort of all the members of a family, or bought/built after sold all your own properties. Please note that here in Fiji, to get insurance on your house against fire can cost you $100/year, against cyclone can cost you $1000/year...that why most of the fijian people can't afford to ensure their properties against the cyclone

I feel your pain. We're in Typhoon Alley, Western Pacific, Micronesia, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. You can Google the world records that go through here. Folks from the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico's power companies helped us more than a few times after storms like this. Our prayers are sent your way.

Except for water damage it looks like it held up surprisingly well. All the roofs seem intact.

Are you people that stupid that you can't understand how a place can be pictured from different point of view and still be the same place?

Flash floods. They ruin lives. Let's all take a moment to remember those who died here. And the animals, never forget the animals.

The old "point of view" may have washed away. Hurricanes eat coastal edges.
