Beautiful
My mom had a quintuple by pass, and a year later, we found out that she had lung cancer that spread to her spine and brain. Watching my father care for my mom made me realize just how much they really loved each other, even thru all of the hard times. Mom passed 2 months, 5 days before their 50th anniversary.
What a beautiful man, husband and father! Your family is blessed! 😇
ohh, this makes me want to cry. what heartache for your father. You can see the love in his eyes.
Wonderful husband its what real marriage is all about a caring and loving husband who remember the sickness and in health part of his marriage vows
To recognize somebody- the way we expect them to- is a highly complex task for the brain. Complex tasks, require the brain to do high end networking. It's this kind of networking, dementia slowly diminishes. However, dementia does not take away the emotions connected to beloved, on a daily basis, familiar people (Admittedly, there's lot's of different kinds of dementia. Hard to say anything about it in general. But, I dare saying, that this world would be a better place, if we would try to take and love people for whom they are, and not judge them by, what we expect them to be.)
I had to pause after this one and compose myself! Wow, what a touching picture of love.
I was my mom's caregiver! The last 5 years of my mom's life she didn't know me but she knew I fed her!
She Looks so peaceful. How touching. Sorry for your early heartaches. My mom has dementia as well, but thankfully she is much older. Blessings.
stop making my eyes water (this is a great man, and the loveliest picture)
This is definitely the power of love!! God bless both of you. May He continue to give you strength in your daily lives.
that's such a powerful image of your parents, I wish them both strength for the times ahead.
Truly, true love. Many in the same situation.....this doesn’t mean I am making light of this story, just pointing out how much this is a given all over the world!
My grandma is the bravest, most beautiful, outspoken woman I have ever known and Alzheimer's took her on March 4th. It's the cruelest disease. I can only hope there's a cure coming someday
Going trough this with my (badass, awesome) 90 year old grandma. It sucks. So hard.
Heart in two pieces. What a wonderful man for keeping her safe in his love!
makes me wanna cry. I am 50 now and was diagnosed with early onset Althzhiemers . I live alone and have no real family aside from 3 brothers and none of us get along I wonder what ill do as my sister is in very poor health and is dying herself.
My sister died from early on-set dementia. It was heart breaking to see someone you love so much slowly disappear right in front of you. I wanted to reach inside of her and pull my sister out of this stranger.
i completely empathize with your pain and struggle. i hope you and your family are getting help, and taking care of yourselves. especially your dad. my mom (84 yrs old at the time) had dementia. like your folks, my dad (93 yrs old) loved her till the end of time. she didn't always know my dad's name (Jose - but sometimes she called him Juan), but she loved him. many a time when they were in the kitchen, she'd be at the table and he'd walk past her - she'd reach out and goose his butt. startling him, he'd yell out (not in anger) "hey!" she'd laugh, then pat her lips and tell him "dame un beso corazón dulce" (kiss me, sweatheart). he'd laugh, and bend down and kiss her.
May she always remember her love for him, that she is always safe, when the world becomes strange, so she will always have a place to rest her head, and be in the love.
I have been planning a philosophical comment, but my eyes watered ... True love does exist.
I see so much love, coming from his eyes! She doesn't know him, but he loves her, endlessly <3
Respect to the husband for honoring his wife by standing. By her even to the point his a stranger in here eyes thats the ultimate response to the true essence of undying love towards his life parter honorable relationship for better or worst i wish id found a person that had that amount of staying. Power constant with they're feeling & not took them back when life gets demanding testing your love to extreme this man ishis wife hero my heart gos out to him to see his love beginning to decade in his eyes

When I was 5 yrs old, I went to my school store with 5 bucks. I bought something for my mom and dad, and that used up all of my money. I didn't have enough for myself. I ended up in tears.

The thing that breaks my heart is looking at so many kind people and knowing they are the ones that western society often writes off, a "bad a*s" teenager, an overweight black woman working as a server in a diner, the elderly, an Iranian school teacher, a "creepy" guy with long hair...but there they are, living their life and being kind.
