Brutally Honest Instagram Reveals Everyday Parenting Problems
Mommy blogger Ilana Wiles created an Instagram account to unveil the real truth about parenting. Titled "Average Parent Problems", it's full of hilariously funny photos showing what parents go through while raising kids. From finding a slice of pizza inside your purse to listening to tantrums over pretty much anything - you can expect it all from your little kids.
'I hope other parents will relate to the photos, feel like they are in good company, and see the amusement in our daily problems,' Ilana Wiles, told The Huffington Post. 'I am always aiming to make the struggles of parenthood entertaining. We need it!'
Ilana also invites other parents to submit their own photos from daily life with kids on Instagram with the hashtag #averageparentproblems to get featured, so keep that in mind, mommies and daddies!

Load More Replies...I've got to say, that is a nice play house though. Didn't know they designed the doors of playhouses so nice nowadays.
Load More Replies...Large appliances boxes were my favorite toys as a kid. Just about every week, my Dad would stop by Sears and get a refrigerator box, fold it flat, put it in his truck, and bring it home. It was like Christmas every week, for me! :)
That is absolutely true. My son always liked the boxes more than the toys
understanding what the kid needs and want is more important than what we need for him
The little girl on the right looks pissed. She knows he's not drinking her tea!
lol - Instead of asking for 'just a crumb', she'll know next time to ask for a bite!
Load More Replies...Once I asked my daughter for a piece of french fries, she gave me 1/2 piece of burned one.
I am blessed.....whenever I ask, my daughter always gives me half. Makes me cry happy tears.
It's those backflips that will really amaze you!
Load More Replies...That baby looks like he's only a year old, or less! And yet I can barely hold two full cartons of milk over my head..
Brotherwood is one of the most beautiful things on this earth :D
I don't have children myself but I do sympathise with parents of small children on planes. I've seen how nasty people can get towards them if the baby cries or won't settle. I was on a fight from Hawaii to LA a few years ago and this toddler in the row next to me kept crying and moving around. There was this guy behind them who kept huffing and puffing and complaining about the baby. I gave him my best 'shut the f**k up look' and then proceeded to distract the youngster with my keys and phone. I have to share the world with other people and sometimes that means a crying baby on the plane - people need to get over it!
People need to realise children cry scream throw unprovoked tantrums and not be mad at them for being a kid
Load More Replies...Europe-east Asia relation here, never was bothered by babies and toddlers. I guess I'm just tollerant, they're cute. And I've got some experience with my niece and nephews, so I understand. So I feel not annoyed, I feel compassion for their parents.
It's the kids who kick the back of your seat and the parent does NOTHING that annoys me.
Load More Replies...I cannot tolerate the seat kicking kid looking for attention, nor the constant crying of one. It's not even healthy for the baby to travel at a too young age. It also puts stress on the parents. Not good for anyone really, but what can you do if they really need to travel. Most of my experience of crying babies on planes are flights that lasted 12 hours at least. So, no wonder i feel bothered.
So you would send that kid and parents on a 3month+ boat journey instead of 12 hours flight? You can never know what important thing forced them to travel, noone travels that long with a young kid unless they HAVE to. Maybe someone died, or kid needs a special surgery, or other important things. Also the parents suffer alot more because of the stress and shame they have to endure during said flight. Next long flight, you should think about investing in a pair of earplugs, they're not that expensive. Or headphones to watch your movie/listen to music. Problem easily solved, better than hating a kid for no reason, or his parents who already have it rough most likely.
Load More Replies...Tokyo to Seattle flight, with a 6 mo. old who ended up being diagnosed with a raging ear infection the next day... I still have nightmares.
Sure you will Quant... when you need to get somewhere and the airline won't let you put your kid in your checked luggage. That will be the day you realize the details of your life cannot and should not be based on the opinions of strangers.
With voices far greater than Tarzan, and its non-stop! It really does bother, and i need my noise-cancelling headphones ASAP!
YES! Something akin to 'early bird catches the worm'!
Load More Replies...Me. They last longer there, they're protected from bugs (flies and ants) and they taste refreshing. ☻
Load More Replies...or a random toy that brightly lights up while singing "merry had a little lamb" as loudly as possible.
Load More Replies...It gives a whole new meaning to "your window has a crack in it"
Load More Replies...Because as soon as you close the door they think it's a vortex and you'll never come back
Not that u don't already know but for those who don't polydactyl is cats with thumbs
Load More Replies...My dad used to leave the door open when he had a poop so I followed him up and watched him
Curiosity is a sign of intelligence. Just wish that's not what would peak there curiosity
Ashamed to say that I have done this as a kid ... and was afraid that they had found out that I prank called them and came to arrest me.
I called 911 at 4 am when I was little. I was “curious" to see if it worked and when you hang up right away the cops fire trucks and ambulances wake up a neighborhood
Load More Replies...If those were my local cops, I would pay my child to call them every day.
My oldest son did this at the laundromat. There was a pay phone in there and he just learned about 911 in school and wanted to see if it really worked. I was folding laundry when the cops showed up and all of a sudden my son was hiding under the folding table lol. They walked in and started smiling cuz they knew exactly what happened cuz they already had a few calls that day from kids trying it out lol.
My Brother diealed 911 just to check if the phone was working :)
PICA : This might be a result of iron deficiency , or celic disease or hook worm infection
I almost choked on my bite of food when I read your comment! lmao
Load More Replies...I was about 2 or 3 years old when my parents took me to the beach for the first time. So,naturally, they brought inflatable pool for me,all the tasty snacks,fruits,toys,etc... and every time they asked me if I wanted some of that,I said "NO!" until I saw some of the other toddlers playing near us and went on to dig into their dry piece of bread.Classy lady.
Just happened to me at the doctors office the other day. And my son just laughed and laughed. Jerk face.
Quick! Throw the phone at his head! It'll buy you at least a few seconds. Throw hard enough and maybe you can even knock him out.
And how many colds do you get. Germs equals immune system. Let him get some germs or he'll get sick all the time
Load More Replies...Or when your toddler pulls the front of your shirt down in the mall,, exposing your dirty pillows to the publc.
Hahahahahaha, i can totally relate. Seriously this one really hurts!
Ah they were saved and stepped on it flat. Get that corner and forget about it.
Cant even count how many times I stepped on one of those. Those and the little army men hurt the worse lol
My little brother used to carry around my moms bras....He even slept with them and tried to bring them to school.
I told me granddaughter to put on a coat. It was freezing. She didn't bat an eye or hesitate on any way, just said "the cold never bothered me anyway"
I've said this before frozen is like crack for children I've never seen it but it's way to addictive for kids
Oh, I just love people like that, when I'm at my favourite restaurant/coffee shop - grrrrrre
Yeah when you don't notice and it's clean up in aisles 4, 5, and 6 as they drip thir way round the store haha. Happens frequently in my store
Load More Replies...That happened to me but with the celery xD My daughter granbbed and she ate the leaves D:
I look soooo charming with this sticks. Even the flower is checking me out.
HAHAHAHAHA I only noticed that after I read your comment. Too true!
Load More Replies...Well it's not exactly the healthiest choice. And it's the parents who teach you first what is good for you. It's harder to change your eating habits as an adult if you are not used to healthy food. Not to mention children need good nutrition to grow up strong. Noone is talking about a 5 star meal, salad takes the same amount of time.
What is wrong with pizza? It's cheap, tasty and easy to make. Not everyone can afford 5 star meals every night. Think before posting

Load More Replies...Yeah not feeling sorry for..... I had 2 girls who refused to wear clothes..., they'ed get naked ALL the time and wanted to go to restaurants in their knickers!!!
Knickers is still clothes, but yup, getting my youngest to more than just underpants was challenging for a while.
Load More Replies...This is my daughter. When she hears, "dress up" she clearly hear's "suit up! time to fight evil!"
Just to register the moment. My husband was not believed until I made a video of my kid holding my hand while I was taking a shower.
Load More Replies...The two little drops beside each other look like eyes, I thought they were at first :)
He is wearing a storm-trooper mask- what did u expect! Should have gotten him Darth Vader's- the Force would be stronger with him!
Prepschool = a probable typo. They must have meant "preschool". A preschool (also nursery school, kindergarten outside the US and UK) is an educational establishment or learning space offering early childhood education to children between the ages of three and five, prior to the commencement of compulsory education at primary school. They may be privately operated or government run, and the costs may be subsidized. Preschool pickup = when you go and pick your kid up from preschool. Share day = Each week or each month, most schools and preschools have a special day when children can bring an item from home to show and tell their friends about.
where i live they call that prepschool--it prepares them for primary school and share day is "show and tell"
Load More Replies...Omg! I'd be so happy just to know I wasn't insane at that point because I know I'd have been looking for them non stop! ????????????
Can someone explain to me what "Prepschool pick up after share day" is?
my guess is it's another name for preschool show-and-tell day.
Load More Replies...At least the carpet is child resistant, as it already looks scribbled & dribbled on!
Realising just 5 seconds too late that it was just too quiet.........
Load More Replies...This is the reason we only have washable markers and crayons... best invention ever.
i put a cover on the couch....wait i have no kids
Load More Replies...I cried a little at this. You really realise you cannot have nice things for at least 18 years
Also... Crayola products are made in the USA. I am more than happy to support them by buying WASHABLE markers and crayons.
Wrestling that stuffed animal into a time out must have worn him out.
I kinda was thinking, not necessarily dbl shifts, but he was exhausted, poor baby. The infant, I think, was fine. And sleeping cuz Daddy was.
Load More Replies...Now way this type of damage can be pulled off in the time it takes to go to the loo
Load More Replies...Hi-tech?! Lol people have been calling that the babysitter for decades!
Load More Replies...Yes cause kids will listen to you every single time
Load More Replies...I wouldn't allow my child to do this, totally disrespectful. They'ed have got the sideways mum glare ????
my son purposely threw the bubbles out to refill the bottle with new bubbles bc the bubbles he already had weren't good enough.
This is my niece. SHE wants to hold them. The bubbles won't work for her so she pours them out. Now her parents are out of bubbles.
She clearly went in the pool with a normal diaper, instead of a swim diaper.
Load More Replies...Yes Quant, clearly. People with children would get this. People without children wouldn't be commenting on the Bored Panda parenting section
Exactly. I just get so annoyed with people who have no idea what parents have to deal with
Load More Replies...Lol, my kids thought the tooth fairy had weekends off as I didn't get paid till Monday and never had money left for weekend tooth losses. The pitfalls of single parenting!
One time when I was somewhere arpumd eight I asked the tooth fairy to give me a picture of what she looked like and I got a picture of pitch black and was convinced it was her hair.
I was one of those children who forgave the tooth fairy bc she must be very busy. One day my mom covered (it'd been a week) by "checking"
She really just went upstairs and pulled out some money
Load More Replies...I told mine that there must have been a lot of losses that day, and she couldn't get to everyone. It seemed to work!
It's awesome that where I come from we don't have that myth :)
Lol. My dad forgot once and I was like "daddy the tooth fairy didn't come!" So he came in and snuck money under the pillow. I found outlater
When I was a child (70s) it was the dog I remember getting whipping for "stealing" chocolate xmas tree ornaments and it was the bloody dog all along Lol my mum felt SO guilty....
you got whipped as a child?!?!?! and i thought my life was hard
Load More Replies...This cutie needs to lose weight anyway. May be a good thing! (Just joking, people)
Hang a key outside the door, just out of reach of the kids. That's what my dad did.
Load More Replies...Kinda looks like half of the hairstyles on fashion shows anyway. Ur on trend
"...but mom we were playing in the yard by our selves and having fun what did we do wrong?"
Trust the little princess to stay out of the mud! It's what they do!
Aw, poor kid. She wsnted to handle it herself. I can relate... I recently lost my adult dignity by grabbing trash out of the bushes in a state park - and realized afterword I had just put a million burrs in my hair and clothes. Oiled my hair and cried as I sat in the tub and carefully removeed 500000+ burrsfrom it. Ruined my fav tee. I'm sure i could have handled this better, but hey, sometimes you just make an impulsively wrong decision. She found out early. Good for her!
Sigh... "Mom, we've talked about this. I'm afraid I'm going to have to let you go."
Cats apparently don't like when their food and water are close together. Don't ask why, cause I don't know.
After all that work of getting the kid dresses and they say I need to go the bathroom.
"WHAT?!? Mom you lied!!! This is all lies!!!! I can never trust you again!!" "I WAS BETRAAAAAYED!!!!!!"
I have the opposite problem. I don't give my daughter candy, and the nurse offers her a lollipop every time without checking with me.
To gain motor control... how do you expect the to learn lol
Load More Replies...I never understood the "take your kid to work day" thing. I mean, your job bores YOU to tears, how is a toddler going to handle it?
I'm certain every funny thing a child does can be construed as an early sign of one problem or another but does it have to?
Load More Replies...They're stuck into the insulation :)
Load More Replies...Me, when I use activated charcoal and lavender soap to wash off my makeup. Yep, it's THAT messy!
I posted it wrong and don't know how to take it off.
Adorable baby but what has this picture got to do with the topic?
The original post was about "everyday parenting problems". Try to give a toddler ice cream to eat on her own and you will find out why this post is real...
Load More Replies...Parenting is full of unique challenges and comedic moments that remind us we're not in this alone.
It's much like how many of the hilarious and universal issues faced in everyday adult life are captured perfectly in average life experiences shared by us all. Whether it's finding humor in spilled milk or in millions of similar scenarios, sometimes laughing at these relatable moments can be the best therapy.
Oh man...I dont think I want to have kids like EVER after seeing all this!
Noo, this is not nightmare, it's totally fun and challenging and disturbing and exhausting, don't be afraid , have many kids as you like ...
Taking care of little kids can be exhausting but also fun and worthwhile! I often babysit my little nephew.
This made me think toddlers and babies are like cats.. Then again cats are infinite times better.
