With so many discussions about why women don't choose to work in male-dominated fields, one reason often gets overlooked. Frequently women who end up working a job surrounded only by men experience all sorts of diminishing behavior from their colleagues. The lack of respect, harassment, and blatant sexism hold women back from taking jobs in any male-dominated industry. Recently a Twitter user asked women to share their experiences while working only with men. This thread perfectly highlights the problem women face while trying their strengths in 'boys club' workplaces. Scroll below to read them!

That's a huge liability for the company. Complaints should be made and then legal action should follow.

As a man, this makes me want to cry a little, as a manager, these people would not be working for the company for long i can assure you, i think in the U.K. we can fire people a lot easier, we don't have people suing us everytime.

Why why why why would you create a list of dangerous men instead of FIRING THEM? This is why so many men think they can get away with s**t like this - because they do. Employers would seriously rather force female employees to take extra safety precautions than hold their male employees to commonsense standards. It's not uncommon - I've worked at multiple jobs where something like this was happening. Including my current one. It's infuriating. Can we raise the bar for men, like, an INCH?

How many of these men are there at your workplace that they have to make a list? And more importantly, why have they not been fired and why hasn't the company been sued for tolerating this kind of behavior?

Because they're men. Because 'they're important to the company'. Just because.

If you have to actually ask, we have made some little (and I do mean miniscule) progress in the workforce. At least most of us no longer lose our jobs when we say 'no. And this, sadly, is not snark.

I stand 5 foot. A 6'5" male asked me what good I'd be if a client started trouble. I smiled sweetly, looked him in the eye, and asked if he realized where my fist would land. He looked down; I was swinging underhand. He backed up a good 6 feet and responded, "You fight dirty!" "No,I fight *smart*."

We had a very inappropriate male coworker in a retail job. Corporate came in to investigate our numerous filed complaints, but only after the father of a teenage coworker called corporate to complain. The female store manager kept trying to interrupt corporate and make excuses for the male employee. Corporate had to tell her to stop intervening, or she would be removed from the meeting. Oh, and he was transferred to another store, as if our location was the cause of his problem. He was finally fired from the company a few months after that, for the exact same reasons.

Thankfully, I work around a lot of security cameras. If you touch me inappropriately, I'm going to defend myself. I'm going to complain, and it will be on camera.

If there's a maintained list then there's a reason legal liability isn't an issue. Probably a reason the women are afraid to report it.

I hate modern feminists and I'm all for "boys will be boys", but this is way too far. She needs to have a giant male friend enter the elevator with her and one of these guys while she asks the jerk why they didn't corner her and touch her THIS time. I think people overall are too goddamn sensitive but physically cornering someone in an enclosed space and then touching them (enough times that you're known for it) is all kinds of f****d up.

It isn't always the men. I was standing at a yardage counter with several other women. A man walked in behind us. The female clerk looked right over our heads and asked how she could help him. Nice to feel invisible.

You have to be careful. I was working at Chase when they hired on a guy I had worked with previously. He was let go from his former job for pulling a chef's knife out of his briefcase and coming at someone. I went to HR. But because there was no absolute proof, they told me I couldn't warn people. I could get fired for that. I left an anonymous note in his bosses mailbox. Risked my job to warn him, but it seemed like a good risk / reward at the time.
