In a world where competing with one another has been increasingly normalized, we may often find ourselves short of good words for one another, whether it’s a compliment or a boost of encouragement.
Sadly, many women are no strangers to the debilitating effect of female rivalry. This happens anywhere, from the workplace to groups of girlfriends, and often we don’t really notice it until we start questioning why a previously wonderful friendship has turned sour.
In this context, the Women Posting Their W's project, which combines both Twitter and Instagram, feels like a much-needed breath of fresh air. “I just love when women [love] celebrating wins, big or small, iconic or ironic,” says their Twitter page’s description and 354.1k followers would totally agree.
Us too! We love seeing women giving thumbs up to other women for wins of any kind in a small yet empowering gesture, so let’s see some of the best achievements that make us proud to be women.

She does it with beet juice. Showing how changes in pH change the color of beet juice is a VERY old science class thing. (We did it 50 years ago and it wasn't new then.) Dasia made the leap that when wounds get infected the pH changes and developed her sutures accordingly. This will be a HUGE advantage in the non-industrial world where septicemia is a major cause of death or permanent disability.

I almost lost my life after my c-section wound got infected, but you couldnt see it from the outside. I had 2liters of puss in my stomach. So this young women is a true hero. My infected wound would have been found much sooner with her invention. She will save a lot of lifes with this invention.

To find out more about this wonderfully wholesome project, Bored Panda reached out to the creator behind Women Posting Their W's Instagram and Twitter pages. The author, who introduced herself as “just a woman online” told us that she is busy running her personal Twitter account and working several jobs.
“Honestly, I wasn't too interested in creating any other pages to keep up with because I don't have very much time throughout my day. But there's this Twitter account that is awful and misogynistic, @womenpostingls, that posts just tweets and stories of women just existing really as an 'L.'”

Damn. I know when I had my first I had no dr. They expected I would have my daughter the next day and assigned me that dr. The other dr was with another patient. The nurse was out somewhere. Tried telling me to wait to push. WTF, who can wait? I told my husband to get someone, baby was coming. Nurse came and after a few minutes, daughter was born. It was 5:34 PM....so much for next day. Babies can take their time or come out super fast, having no dr there was a little nerve-wrecking. Almost thought my husband would have to have caught her.
The author, who was really frustrated with that account, explained further: “He's posted things like a woman crying after not being able to conceive a child as an L, and even a woman being sexually assaulted as an L.”
Moreover, “That account has been around since October 2020, and I was hoping it'd either get suspended for the constant targeted harassment of women he posted and would send his followers after, or for his constant retweeting back and forth between that and his personal page, but unfortunately the page persisted, and I kept seeing negativity against women day after day.”

In the light of this frustration, the author of Women Posting Their W's realized it “was really time someone made a positive space for women to celebrate women. And I did it.”
When it comes to spreading the wholesome message behind the project, the author hopes to show that “we should appreciate and celebrate people more, and particularly women who continue to face harassment and abuse and misogyny throughout all walks of life, especially on the internet.”

Funny how the establishment closes its mind to certain ideas and totally dismisses them and the people pursuing them—-then has to eat crow when it’s discovered those ideas and people they pooh-poohed were RIGHT all along! Good for you, I'm so proud of you. My best friend of almost 30 years was well on her way, and so close to her goals. Then she met her ex. He abused her (physically and mentally) and she lost her way. He convinced her she was no good. This was about 3 years ago. The only positive thing he did was give her a beautiful and amazing daughter who helped her refocus her life. She left him, got back to her old self, worked her way up to a $22/hr job as an RBT, and she is finally about to go back and finish school. I never doubted her for a second even when everyone else did, and I love her even more now for doing it all on her own and setting such a wonderful example for her daughter.

Good on you for not giving up! I was assaulted as a young child and it negatively affected my life in so many ways. I finally sought some therapy and she told me something that changed everything. She said: "Every time you think of them (there were 5), you are giving them your power. Don't give ANYBODY your power, ever!".
“On my personal page, I receive threats all the time. I get unsolicited dick pics. I even got one on this account,” she said and added: “And sure, women should be celebrated on their own, and it shouldn't have to be a celebration BECAUSE of anything.”

Based on the pictures I thought she married her after she transitioned. And I was like...I'm pretty sure that after 10 years she could tell that she was trans? But I guess she transitioned after the 10 years. Good for them. Everyone deserves to be loved and accepted as they are.

This is so sweet! You can see how happy she is about this. When an article about me was published in a big magazine, only my Mom has bought a copy of it. Neither my sister, my bf or my friends did this. I was very upset about this, I thought they will be happy for me and maybe even somehow proud? Dunno. Either way, I'm very grateful for my Mom's support. That's a very important thing in life.

Male egos haven't changed. When I was in high school, 60 years ago, I wanted to take shop classes, especially woodworking and drafting, which were not open to girls, they were required to take Home Economics. I had to persist and finally in my senior year I was allowed to take drafting. The boys were very unkind and made jokes that even the teacher participated in, left dog poop in my seat, and put whoopie cushions under me whenever there was an opportunity. They were never reprimanded or punished, but, thankfully, the drawings I did were great proof that I did the best ones and I got the highest grade in the class.

I went through the same thing, Martha, in shop class. I could draw a bead as well as anyone with the acetylene torch but it didn't matter. For me it was 30 years ago - different generation, same garbage. I'm so glad to see we aren't putting up with it any more.

In Germany have at least 2 chains of this kind of fitness. The one I visited was very sisterhood place. Members were very supportive and mostly as groups of friends then only fitness and go.

I'm old enough to remember when she would actually be described as a 'Woman Doctor' (by both men and women) and men would be 'Male Nurses' (and looked down upon as 'unmanly') This has disappeared now and I didn't notice when people stopped saying it. People can learn, change and improve how they view the world..

I have one! Started a programmer school as the only woman with 15 male mates. First week, some guys said I was there because I was a girl. Ended as the ONLY ONE getting congratulations AND a job from the jury. But yes, being a girl was my only skill :)

Seriously this is just amazing! After graduating college, I thought I wanted to be a high school teacher. After years of working retail, going back to school and working at the same time, getting married, having a baby, and now I'm finishing my ninth year as an elementary teacher. I love my job and my daughter knows how hard I worked to get this career. I remember nursing her at 2am while typing a paper at the same time, after a shift at Walmart. It was exhausting but I don't regret it for a second!
