30 Women Who Were Up For A ‘Blind’ Makeup And Hair Transformation By This Russian Stylist Duo (New Pics)
Even if you haven’t heard of the insanely talented Russian duo bringing smiles back to women’s faces, you have probably seen their work on social media. The Moscow-based makeup artist Oksana Trunova and hairstylist Olga Tarasova have been leaving everyone stunned upon seeing their “blind makeovers.”
Having started five years ago, the duo helped to create new looks for thousands of women who wanted a change but didn’t know where to start. “Do something,” the clients would tell Oksana when she still worked in a beauty salon, and that’s when she realized it takes a lot of work, creativity and magic to make a truly dramatic change that makes people shine from within.

Bored Panda reached out to the Moscow-based makeup artist Oksana Trunova, who, along with her colleague, hairstylist Olga Tarasova, has been ‘freestyling’ these incredible makeovers, helping many women leave the salon way happier than when they came.
Oksana and Olga have been doing these makeovers for many years now, and they said they “realized that women are all beautiful, but for many reasons, many have forgotten about it.” “For example, they may have been affected by the loss of a loved one, leaving work, illness, etc.” Oksana said her goal is to “bring back life and confidence in them.”
I hate it when they don't include glasses in the makeover. Not everyone can or wants to wear contacts and not everyone can afford multiple pairs of glasses. If you want to look prettier every day, you have to include them. Snd even for a dingle occasion you might not be able to take them off.
When asked if every woman is happy with her makeover, Oksana assured us that “everyone leaves happy and everyone likes it, but sometimes we ourselves are not happy with the work we’ve done.” The makeup artist also said that it usually takes 3 days for a woman to get used to her new looks after the transformation, and that’s when she feels her best.
Agree. The orange clashes with her natural reddish skin colour.

If you put too light a foundation on her face, it looks artificial. In the second photo, the skin of her hand is in contrast to the skin of her face.
Moreover, very young and teenage customers are the ones Oksana usually has the hardest time working with. “As a rule, they themselves know what they want,” she explained.
"After coming to our salon, our clients learn to do their makeup that is not noticeable, yet the face looks fresh and well-maintained,” Oksana said after being asked if clients continue to use what they learned during a makeover after they leave.

I’m assuming these women were excited to have a makeover, but honestly, they began to all look alike — and the presentation was terrible. Especially the hands in all sorts of weird positions around their faces. What’s up with that?!?

I see a lot of make-up and photo manipulation. The women get their picture as a sort of a high and will probably crash spectacularly when they realise they cannot replicate the look on the photo. Depression waiting to happen.
this hairdresser is most likely from a small town in Central or East Europe. Definitely not my style but at least it looks simple and the make up is not overly done to look like drags, like in previous posts.

Just let them be happy. With or without makeup it's their choice and has absolutely nothing to do with you.
The vast majority of the improvements come from make-up. A LOT of make-up. I don't know if I would want to deal with the time and money to look "better" on a regular basis. The amount of foundation would be caking and rubbing off on everything.
And it tends to only look good in pictures, not in person

Some of these were underwhelming & with too much makeup. Also- hard to tell if filters is what changed their looks as opposed to hair & makeup
That's a lot of photos to push once more the old narrative of : Look what a new hair cut, a lot of make up, a smile and Photoshop can do for you.

I don't like the pressure women feel to conform to beauty standards. Most of these women look great without makeovers. That being said, it's obvious that the makeovers made plenty of women feel great and have more confidence. Some really did seem rejuvenated.
Until they realize that they in no way can repeats this themselves tomorrow. Great stylists should be able to give advice for simple, homemade improvement

We've done something different they said, to 100 women who they did the same "short hair, dyed red" style with....
As a man who knows nothing about makeup or hairstyles, I am really happy!
As a cosmetologist (make up artist/hairstylist) for 10+ years, I can definitely confirm almost all of these looks are identical, or follow the similar trend. Lots of forward facing layered pixies, soft side swept fringes, and heavy black upper lid eyeliner, warm and or red toned hair color. They’re all visual tricks on the eye to create lift add fullness, add warmth (makes you look younger and more alive) and enhance features.These looks are universally flattering on most everyone but very few clients come in asking for a red pixie cut or any warmth at all for that matter. Many women are afraid of gold or red tones, which most all of these women have. Sigh.
So don't you think there's a case of better lighting, better poses going on here. There is some serious masking and disguising going on and I wonder if the victims will even want to do it. That said some of the cuts are pretty, pretty damn good.
I think he is amazing. What I like best is that he brings out their natural beauty instead plastering excess make up on them. None of them look plastic.
This is SO much better than a recent makeover thread. These people still look like real people (although there are some places that seem to be more photoshop than makeup.) In some cases, I could nitpick certain style choices, but there's no overall theme that everyone must look like a certain, particular type of space alien.
Wow, these women are very brave! Although the stylist is good with curls, almost always gives a "karen" haircut or a sort of old fashioned 60's style (cut and colour) than even my granny would never wear today.

Many stylists lack the training and experience to work with the hair types of certain ethnic groups. In the 'before' photos, many of the curls are artificial. Only one or two had 2C type hair, meaning wavy. Not one had hair types above that, which is often found among certain ethnic groups. In fact, most stylists that cater to whites won't even know what you mean if you said you had type 4C hair.
