It doesn't matter WHICH side you vote for in America. If the Democrats are actually the good party then why have they done f**k all for the black community in the 50 years since we've been voting them in? In fact, black communities have only gotten worse. They say we are their main focus but it's never been true. The first f**k up we black people made was to take their leftovers instead of just building our own. Instead we had white flight and because of that, they just let our communities, our schools, our businesses etc all die because they were now in "black neighborhoods". We should've been stocking our schools with educated black leaders, setting up our own businesses and community programs, patrolling our own streets, setting up black people for ownership instead of letting them fall info the welfare trap. Everyone always has something to say about the mythical black baby dad but never bring up thr social programs they made that wouldn't allow black mothers to receive help if th.

The GOP have actually ALWAYS been like this. It's just now they're into saying the quiet parts out loud. Been saying for most of my life that there's a lot of deep seeded hatreds in their party just waiting to bear rotten, low hanging fruit. And now..here we are.

This is true, but the catch is that if you're a Republican politician, being batshit crazy, mind-blowingly stupid or disgustingly greedy is completely acceptable, even actively encouraged, while Democrats are under social pressure to at least appear reasonable, intelligent and empathetic. I know full well that plenty of Democratic politicians are terrible people whose actual values don't line up with mine at all, but as long as the party platform forces them to act like normal humans and mostly vote the way I want, I'll live with it.

This is so true. And I find the US has a lot less nuances in political ideologies as well than we do in France for exemple. There isn't even a name in English for what would be closest to my ideas. In the US it seems everything is just in plain black and white, and it got me very confused at first when I moved there.
