We all need to occasionally be reminded of how wonderful the world is, and how kind and caring people can truly be. When you spend too much time watching the news and browsing social media, you can come to the false conclusion that life is horrible. That’s far from the truth. Life is very nuanced. And there’s plenty of good to outweigh the bad.

That’s where the ‘Wholesome Memes’ account on X (formerly Twitter) comes in. The project does exactly what it says on the tin and shares memes about all things wholesome. We’ve collected some of the best ones for you to enjoy and share with your pals. Scroll down to check ‘em out. This might be the mood booster that you need today!

We're not 100% paperless but compared to 5 years ago, I rarely print or receive printed documents. All contracts and forms are e-signed, which is actually better because you can see who still needs to sign and easily find the PDF copy.

Many years ago my cat Casper was on my chest nose to nose with me, meowing his little Lungs ragged. My first alarm was blaring. I was dreaming there was a war and I was running for cover, alarms all around me. I woke up because in my dream the meowing of a cat made no sense. Anyway, I'd left a candle burning, it put itself out and the smoke tendrils from the burnt out wick set off my smoke alarm. Casper you were the bestest little boi.

I didn't play Pop Warner football as a kid because I saw a news report that some football players took ballet to improve their balance, I thought I had to take ballet, I didn't want to be made fun of. I regretted not playing so kudos to this kid and his parents for doing something that he wants to do without regards to anyone else's unsolicited opinion.

The ‘Wholesome Memes’ project was started in early 2017. Over the years, it attracted a community of 38.7k loyal followers who love what the account stands for. However, at the time of writing, it appears that the curators have taken a break from posting new wholesome memes.

It’s easy to see why so many people love the content shared by the project. It’s lighthearted. It’s fun. It offers a nice contrast to a lot of the emotional ick you watch and read about every single day. We all need a pick-me-up from time to time. Sometimes, a handful of memes are enough to (slightly) restore our faith in humanity.

This man's act of kindness stems from his belief in God. Whether you or I think that faith is misplaced or not, doesn't really matter. What matters is that someone gave someone else a chance, which is rare enough (though it shouldn't be). Just be happy for both.

Human beings are fundamentally social creatures. Our ancestors needed to form strong, durable social connections in order to survive, as well as to thrive.

Though our level of technological development has soared over thousands of years, our innate drive to connect and relate to others hasn’t gone away. It’s still very much present.

I know a family that isn't particularly any religion but for a time they did different religions / ethnic holidays every year. Christmas, Kwanza etc - for the sake of the kids learning / understanding different beliefs and cultures. In other words - not "appropriation" but teaching the kids to be more understanding and accepting of the practices of other peoples.

My company invited me to a Diwali celebration recently, it was very nice. I love Indian food, and the caterer seemed shocked that I knew the actual names of the food (the signs were just descriptions to make it easy for people). But I've never really learned about Indian culture before, and the celebration was a lot of fun. Now I'm wondering how many cultural events for a different culture I haven't been invited to over the years...

One way to connect to other people is through memes. At their core, memes are what we share and reshare. They can be ideas, funny pictures, or even attitudes. So when we laugh at memes or spam our social circles with them, we’re actively participating in the culture of a particular group of people. The only difference is that this is mostly done online now, rather than in person.

He also got snagged by the cheerleaders to draw banners and such for homecoming games. Early on his work was super detailed doodles. Think "Where's Waldo" sort of stuff. Later much of his art became photorealistic. One example in link. TDLR: Encourage the artist. -= il_fullxfu...5_i2c8.jpg il_fullxfull.4678119005_i2c8.jpg

My child got in trouble often at school for doodling. We later found out that doodling can be a great coping skill for autism and ADHD, and can help the child to concentrate better on what the teacher is teaching. I wish all teachers knew this!

My first thought when I read this was “ADHD”. I find that having my hands doing something helps me focus. Something I didn’t discover until well into adulthood, when I noticed that I was always fiddling with something in my hands while watching TV.

It’s nice to stay in touch with your friends through cat memes and silly little Instagram reels. And remote communication is certainly better than being completely isolated and alone. However, online messaging will never replace quality meetups in person. Usually, people are busy with work, studying, parenting, and a dozen other things.

Kind of funny but also I get it. My brother is deaf and I have thought about him many times when I was playing a game where you rely pretty heavily on audio clues. A lot of AAA games have the option for on screen captions of stuff the NPCs say but I have not personally seen any with descriptive captions. (You hear creaking bones down the hallway to your right - stuff like that). AFAIK he is not much of a gamer but lack of accessibility might be the reason for that.

There are very utilitarian reasons to genuinely invest in building deep connections with other people. To put it bluntly, folks who have lots of meaningful, positive relationships in their lives live longer, have a higher quality of life, and are way happier.

So even if you prefer to be by yourself, it’s well worth consciously reaching out more often to the people you care about the most.

The Harvard Study of Adult Development has been running since 1938 and has been extensively covered in the news and by content creators in recent years. The 8+ decade-spanning study has come to a very simple, common sense, but important conclusion. Namely, that good relationships lead to health and happiness. However, The Atlantic notes that you must actively nurture those relationships. Hoping that they’ll turn out alright won’t be enough.

Grandpas make the world a better place. Back in the days of milk men, they also sold eggs and ice cream. Once in a while, grandpa would make his way to the milk truck (he had 2 wooden legs so he was slow) and buy a pint carton of chocolate ice cream and cut it in half with (of all things) his pocket knife. Then put each half in a bowl for my brother and me. We brought this up the last time we were together and we both remember it exactly the same way, so I must be accurate in my memory.

I've never met deaf people who didn't think people could hear farts but I guess they had to learn at some point. I never polled deaf six year olds. :) BTW, I never polled deaf adults, I've just seen them show it other ways, like excusing themselves if they farted.

It’s not just positive relationships that are good for us: their lack is horrible, utterly horrible, for our physical, emotional, and mental health. To be very clear, social isolation is a massive problem that wrecks people’s quality of life.

The US Surgeon General’s advisory made it clear that social disconnection is as bad for your health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. However, once again, these connections have to be meaningful to improve our lives. Superficial chitchat at work or elsewhere doesn’t count for much.

👍😁 Good idea! Some homeless people wander into a town and have no idea where they might find a shelter or soup kitchen. It's sad that such places are kinda underground for security reasons.

“To be clear, social connections don’t just mean happy hour or the water cooler chats we’ve mythologized since Covid killed the traditional workplace. True social connection is about creating moments of meaning that drive aligned purpose and belonging. Small or large affirmations that your voice matters, your colleagues trust you, your organization needs you. Social connection, or social capital, is the glue that holds your workplace together,” Ann Kowal Smith writes on Forbes.

I know the pain. We are small coffee shop but bit outside high street. After 6 months we have regular customers but not enough to keep us going, we need to shut down soon. I'm heartbroken, this place it's amazing and named after my dog who's resident there and welcomes every customer. That's why is so important support local, otherwise we all will end up supporting billionaires and soullessness places with overpriced drinks.

Social disconnection affects more than just individual people’s lives or local communities. It costs American businesses roughly $154 billion a year. Employees who are socially connected are more productive. On the flip side, workers who find themselves isolated are not engaged. And they’re not happy. This leads to a lot of misery at work… and worse results for companies.

A flatmate I had years ago bought and inflatable alien during a trip to London, and put it as decoration in our sitting room. Some days later she got up in the middle of the night to go to the toilet. She couldn't speak English, so she didn't know the inflatable alien glowed in the dark. She nearly had a heart attack.

Because you're one of the pack. You might be a rather strange two-legged, hairless puppy that doesn't quite smell right, but you're a packmate, and pack mates look out for each other. When you're toileting, you're more vulnerable to predators, so your pack mate is there to protect you and defend you as necessary. He's just doing his duty to the pack. In return, you watch over him, and even carefully collect his poop so that predators can't track him.

The Grim Reaper is not there to end your life but to be there for when it ends. He will patiently help you with that feeling of confusion after you have passed away. He will guide you to where you need to go and answer what ever questions you may have but be warned, some questions cannot be answered but he will offer advice and direction. The Grim Reaper is the friend of the weary traveller at the final end of the journey and comforting hand that takes yours when you need the reassurance before you move on

We shouldn't have to do this, men if a woman says no or acts uninterested just go away we don't owe you our time or attention.!!

You shouldn't have to, but you do need to. I'm sorry. But as a man, and lover of music festivals, big parties, small towns, and big cities, please just accept this and always take steps to stay safe. I have prevented one atrocity, consoled during the immediate aftermath of another, and heard realization in smoky rooms years later multiple times. Carry a deterrent, and travel in groups. Please.

One of the few advantadges to being big and ugly is that my friends know they can (and have) come to me when they don't feel safe. Few people are willing to to cause trouble when there is a monster like me around.

Ok people, we shouldn't have to need to do this, however this method does work - and works for anyone regardless of gender. If one needs to get out of a situation - use this. Have helped a couple people and now have new friends!

Actually a bat in a place like that is probably in trouble and you should call a bat rescue group. In Texas you can call Bat World Sanctuary (940)325-3404. If you're not in Texas you can still call them and they can probably tell you who to call in your area. Do Not call your local animal shelter as most shelters will just take the bat and kill them.

Also, hip hop dudes who have a rap beef effectively just write poems about the feelings they have for each other. Acting like that makes them "gangsta" might be a bit silly (if not downright toxic), but at least they're venting their frustration instead of letting it build up to eventually explode catastrophically. So that immediately makes it twice as wholesome.

It's The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. One of the first bridges and first NPCs you come to when you get off the tutorial area. This guy is patrolling the bridge and keeping an eye on a Guardian- he tries to talk you out of jumping off the bridge and "ending" your life. But there are a lot of bridges in the game, and a lot of NPCs. The rest of them don't acknowledge you jumping.
