I doubt that cat needs to hunt for its food. Hunting is NOT NECESSARY for a cats survival unless they are feral. Otherwise they're just murdering millions of songbirds and mice for no reason.

I think the downvotes are just for the "name-calling". I am guessing people don't like to be called naive. You are right, though in my opinion. My dog was taken from a bad situation. I have owned and trained many dogs over the years and work in the companion animal field. I am a great dog owner who's spent quite a bit of money and time on undoing his damage. I would not consider him a "good" dog in a public setting, however he's perfect around my immediate family. I would not subject him to other dogs and/or situations with strangers. Especially children. Is he badly behaved? Yes. Am I a bad owner? No. I am probably the only reason my dog is alive. Regardless, he's treated like an actual family member now, but the damage is done. I have also seen dogs with great owners and homes still be aggressive or just wild af. Even with a board certified behaviorists help. So, Murph, I agree with you and I love dogs more than most anything.

Oh, come on downvoters.... Dogs are big, small, yappy, quiet, shy, bouncy, affectionate, loners, greedy, workers, lazy, every different sort of dog and personality exists. To pretend that ALL dogs are somehow saintly and that there are no a*****e dogs is just delusional.

I am truly sorry your aunt was harmed and no one would blame her if she was scared or anti dogs in some way. Though the fault really does lie with humans. No dogs are not all perfect, far from it. Yes, the dog did the damage but some stupid human allowed that dog to be outside of proper control when it shouldn't have been. Or caused trauma to the animal to make it dangerous in the first place. Some are too badly damaged and are a risk, not fair to the people or the dog to allow that to go on sadly. Humans are the ones breeding dogs with little care for genetics, causing damage to dogs, not training dogs, allowing them to roam or not be under proper control and so on. From start to finish, that dog was let down by people and your aunt suffered as a result. Dogs can be dangerous, in certain circumstances, so it is up to people to prevent that.
