Cat Owner Shares Breathtaking Photos Of Her Maine Coon, And It’s Crazy How Big It Is
The Maine Coon cat looks like a mythical creature from a fairytale. As one of the biggest cat breeds, even just lounging on a couch the fluffy cats look majestic. Unsurprisingly the owners of these gorgeous kitty cats love to show them off, and I think we can all agree that they are even more instagrammable than some humans.
One such cat owner created an Instagram account that features her Maine Coon Lotus. So far the cute cat model has 49.5k followers, and when you look at her photos, it’s easy to see why. Scroll down below to check out Lotus making everyday cat life seem glamorous! And after looking at these biggest cat specimens, I think you won’t be questioning their Internet fame any longer, as they indeed are exceptional.

Share on FacebookThis handsome boy is my Maine C**n/Russian Blue mix! While he's not as long as Lotus he is still a whopping 20 lbs!! The bigger the fur baby the better the cuddles!! 20171203_1...a9facb.jpg
We have a Maine C**n, Mr. Bailey, He weights 30-35 lbs and is so lovable. He was rescued by our son in law 12 hours before he would have been put down. He is a great cat. Mr-Bailey-...b46cc1.jpg
It's luck that they are better mannered and more docile than an average house cat.

I have a gorgeous pedigree 3 year old Maine c**n the same colour, called Orson. However, although he's an adult and fully grown, he's smaller than the average pet cat. He was the runt out of a large litter of 14 and 1/5 of the size of his brothers and sisters. The breeder neglected him, didn't advertise him or anything and just by chance we visited her house a few hours before she was going to "humanly dispose of him" (read break his neck and kill him) I was sat on her sofa when I felt this little brush of fluff against my ankle and picked him up. He was tiny and could sit in the palm of my hand! He snuggled up on my chest and his piercing blue eyes engaged with mine. I asked her about him and why she never mentioned him and she explained his size, how he wouldn't get money that the others would and thus her plan and I told her I would pay his vet fees and take him with me. He's one of 5 cats I have and I'm sure he knows I saved him that day.
Many years ago I adopted a cat from RSPCA who looked almost exactly like this. He had been treated *very* badly, and displayed behavior that would be called PTSD in humans. Now I am guessing that I had the privilege of living with a Maine C**n for a while. With lots of care and love he rehabilitated very well. And had a lovely life for a few years. Still I miss him.
I heard that a fox is dog hardware running cat software but this guy looks like cat hardware running dog software!
Lost my Maine C**n mix a few months ago to oral cancer. He was a loving arm full at 20 lbs.. got him in a shelter..much loved
Beautiful cat. The ruler of my house is a 20 pound seal point that looks like a midget next to Lotus. I'm a sucker for cats and think it's impossible to have one to big or to small.
I love Maine Coons. I love the way they look. I love their attitudes, which are very dog like. As a dog person and a fan of adopting (you don't see many Maine Coons in shelters), however, I will probably only ever be able to enjoy them from afar. Lotus is an especially gorgeous example of the breed.
I can't see the pics bc on my galaxy s7 when I try to open it all the entries read "please update" however my app is up to date &clicking that link takes me to the apple store... frustrating bc I really wanted to see this.
They're all Instagram posts. Maybe you can see them directly there? ☺

Maine Coons are the most loyal cats out there. I miss mine every day.
And I wonder how much he sheds (I know there are some cats that shed more and some that shed less than usual cats)
Load More Replies...First of all, let's make something clear. This is not a cat but a baby lion!!! ;-)
I didn't know they made them that big. Imagine all the shedding and furballs.
You can tell by the face. Maine Coons have larger skulls, higher "cheekbones" and longer noses than most cats. Norwegian Forest Cats have softer looking faces and while they tend to be big, they never get as big as the large Maine Coons do.
Load More Replies...OMG I hope this isn't one of those IF IT FITS I SIT cats. Looks more like If I SIT it'll FIT. I'll be looking for Lotus on the nest PBS cat documentary.
I adopted a Maine Cokn from the shelter, he was 2-3 years old. Best cat I have ever had. He weighed 28-32 pounds. Nothing like waking up to a giant 30lb fur ball on my chest!
Here's my Maine C**n cat, Mr. Meow Meow. We adopted him from a friend's Grandma who couldn't take care of him anymore (I couldn't let him go to the humane society to be put down!). He was born deaf and now he's gone blind. He's the sweetest cat I think I've ever met and I'm so glad fate brought us together. He's 15 pounds of fur and pure love. my-mr-meow...4343a1.jpg
I totally misread the title as, "Maine C**n cat shares photos of her owner" at first. I never knew these cats could grow so big - interesting article.
What a beautiful cat!! Please look at my latest post, an illustration inspired by and based on my girlfriend's Siberian cat!... www.boredpanda.com/lumen-the-siberian-cat-a-vision-of-beauty/
I want that cat. Hand over that cat or I will self-destruct!! Now!!
Beautiful cats, never seen one in person but the image will remain! What are their temperments like?
This looks like a Russian cat. They have the same facial structure, build, and long fur. We used to have a polydactal Maine C**n. Smartest cat and just gorgeous!
Amazing...I have always wanted a Maine Soon. Does anyone have one near me in liverpool/ Baldwinsville..below Syracuse, NY area.?
I had a main c**n years ago witch name was Kissou (kitten in Finnish). Best cat ever. Never forgotten and never replace, he is my cat for ever...
Yes, this is a big beautiful kitty, but the perspective chosen for the photographs make him look bigger than he really is.
We had 53 acres and were animal people...we were given a Maine C**n...not this huge but it was big...it ran all over with our 2 Australian Shepherds. I intentionally had a bright orange collar on it so hunters knew it wasn’t a Leopard as it was marked just like one.
Lotus is def a Maine C**n Cat. You can get a better perspective on them if you visit Robert Sijka's FB page & drooling over his photography of the breed. Many, many Maine Coons that look a lot like Lotus. Sigh. To be owned bu one of these Big Cats....
Load More Replies...Awsome creatures but over-bred and overpriced. My cat - a rescue, was large and perfect champagne beige colouring to his long fur. We rescued him a second time when the pond was lightlyfrozen and covered with a coating of snow. We saw him investigating it and inching out onto it . I just managed to grab him by the scruff of the neck as the ice broke under him. Damm cats
The adorable monster cat sat patiently at the patio doors holding my favorite Koi Carp in its mouth as "a gift"
