In addition to creating relatable skeleton artwork, I also run this daily comic which follows Lifeless Carl as he reluctantly navigates the afterlife. He deals with the typical struggles like work, mental health, and just trying to exist, or not.

I have always loved and wanted to create a comic, and this idea came from a first, single drawing of Carl. His personification of my funnier quirks made him the perfect relatable creation from which to launch a comic strip.

Carl’s morbid yet relatable sense of humor makes him the perfect balance for dark comedy. I do my best to keep my jokes light with sarcasm while still delving into the more taboo, sinister inner monologues of everyday people and ideas which are often thought of but rarely voiced.

I am in this comic.... I feel like a lot of people forget they have steering wheels and they forget how to read/recognize shapes when it comes to road signs.

What I'd like to know is why people who live in areas where it snows EVERY DAMN YEAR... for 6 months out of said year... without fail drive like they've never seen snow in their lives & this freaky white stuff magically falling out of the sky means they have to drive like it's lava that's specifically targeting them. ~~~ Then within a week they all drive like it's 85° on a clear, sunny, dry day with a completely empty road ahead of them... even though it's actually blizzarding at 7pm in rush hour traffic.

This is true, I'll be walking in a grocery store and the person in front of me knows I'm behind them, but they'll stop mid-aisle to look at something and give me the death stare if I move their cart out of the way to get by.

Yep. Especially pisses me off when someone has a YIELD sign then starts honking at you. I mean how did they get thier license if they can't read the signs???

Pet peeve: people who buy extra long RVs and can't handle them. They can't drive that 30 ft motor home. Can't back up a trailer. Cut you off on the interstate because they can't judge distance, even with the camera. Suggestion folks: start with the small ones first.

The biggest challenge I face when creating this comic is ensuring that while infusing my humor, I am also making something that is relatable. I accomplish this by rewriting jokes to the point where I feel they will best put a little humorous darkness in my readers’ days.

I hope that readers enjoy my dark humor that spills from every strip and that they can find comfort and solace in the relatability of Carl’s daily struggles.
