I Use My Photoshop Skills To Restore Vintage Photographs (23 New Pics)
Photography is the art of frozen time. Sometimes, photography is the only link to the past. And over time, it can be lost forever due to tears, scratches, and other threats. I restore such photos and give them a second life. I return to people the memory of the past. Using my exceptional Photoshop skills, I restore extremely fine details in photographs. Here are some examples of my work before and after.

Probably using composites. I overlaid the image out of curiosity. The lower half of the body (clothing) doesn't match up. The nose doesn't point down quite so much. It's impressive work regardless.

The buttons are a bit too strong, and unless they knew the specific person (and could look up what regiment etc they belonged with), those on lapel are wild guesses so probably wrong?
Why was this downvoted? It's true! There has been a lot of guesswork in the second image. Right shoulder line and arm look different too.

She went through so much. Terrible what she endured.

This one is super interesting. The man in the photo is Robert Cornelius, an amateur chemist and photography enthusiast. Cornelius took a picture of himself in the back of his family's chandelier store. He set up the camera and then ran into the frame for the picture, thus having clicked the first-ever 'selfie'. In 1839!!!
You are absolutely right, I was very interested in this photo !!!
Load More Replies...I am always amazed by this photo, I feel like I know him, this photo connects through the century
These are fantastic but the blur tool is definitely strong on this lady.

Was this originally a tinted daguerreotype, or is that some kind of discoloration of the metal? I mean, it sure looks like the ribbon and dress were intended to be yellow. I’d love to see a colorized version of the restoration, IF the yellow turns out to be tinting.
Is it just me, or was the lady looking directly into the camera in the original photo and now she is looking to the upper left (from her perspective)?
I do see several things that don't match the original...and no, I couldn't do better!
If I am correct (I may not be and won't insist if I am wrong) this is a picture of the oldest person ever photographed, born well back into the 18th century... however, I'm not in the mood to do the research into the question this morning and all...
also, her left hand is old and her right hand is young in the remake.
I hate to say it, but I think this, and photos 6, 12 and 14 are memento mori - photos of posed dead people, common in Victorian times.
Ok bad idea giving the photo no’s as this list moves lol. Well, guess the corpse!
Load More Replies...She looks scarily like my great, great, great great grandmother.
nope. Not a win here. From the face if the guitar player to the guy on the left.
Definitely a memento mori photo. The way his skin is hanging under the eye and near the mouth is not that of a living person.
Load More Replies...This is more like a pencil drawing the way it's smoothed out so much.
Lady, you've got talent. Or patience. Probably both.
She looks a bit different, but I just can't put my finger on what it is...
The pose on this one is a little odd. I hate to criticise anything about any of these, as an amazing job has been done on restoring all of these, but on the original, it looks like the figure is leaning on something, this appears to have been removed and it leaves the pose feeling - off.
errrr....what on EARTH is wrong with that woman's hands?? no, not just the weird unsupported arm angle...her actual hands...
Boy do I remember getting bundled up like this as a child. This ensemble would be more for going out to dinner or over to a relative’s house. For going out to play, you’d be bundled up in a snowsuit like Randy—-Ralphie’s brother in “A Christmas Story”.
Don't know anything about the context of this photo, but as for russian tradition, boots are made from felt and not shiny at all
This looks like an excess of photoshopping, such as you’d see on some “influencer’s account, and not a restoration. The face doesn’t look natural.
Are you an art critic or do you just like shitting all over everything. This person is an amateur who is doing something positive and uplifting. AND free for all of us to admire. So shut up and admire their hard work. I don't see you posting anything artistic or talented here.
Load More Replies...This one woud be hard because it would be hard to tell if the older one was a guy or a girl. But you did great!
the collar...the kid on the left...the collar's changed significantly...
Cool photo—-and the woman is especially daring in it. Sitting on a carpet behind a hookah would mark her as a bohemian, and Victorian society might consider her wanton and reckless with her reputation.
That's to be expected when you're re-rendering... It's really difficult to get the same depth of field as the original.
Load More Replies...The proportions look a bit off in the restoration. Plus, the face looks kind of crookedly photoshopped in.
Are you just overly critical in all your comments? Have nothing positive to say. These are outstanding, as far as digital restorations go... and CERTAINLY better than you could achieve, I bet.
Load More Replies...This one is REALLY cool. How is this one last? It needs to be higher.
Do they have wings? What else could that white furry looking thing , be? Hmm
Restoring? Or remaking the entire image? Most of the hands are not from the original pic but potoshopped onto the picture.
I think that's a small loss for the quality and effort going into these images- images like these are incredibly hard to restore and they made them look incredible!
Load More Replies...Excellent job on most of the pictures. But some people unfortunately ended up looking like dolls due to the heavy editing.
I agree. But I must have been really hard to do this with all the wrinkles and age. From what I can tell, she did a really good job.

Amazing! I'm hoping to get some of my Grandpa's WWII era photos restored soon.
these are good but as many people have said, theyve been photoshopped too much and have lost texture
on a good way! The more we watch the reallife impression, the more we get to know, that it´s not that easy to recreate this warmth, glowing in the faces and especially eyes ...
