Pineapple Does Belong On Pizza
Having Kids Isn’t For Everyone
There’s Nothing Wrong With Enjoying Fast Food
As long as it's not all you eat, sure, have the occasional hamburger/pizza/fried chicken and enjoy it.
Being Good At School Doesn’t Mean You’re Smart
Much of school consists of studying, memorizing and following instructions. It's very indoctrinated. Leaves little room for creative exploration, theory constructs and self-discovery. If you're able to produce anything off-curriculum it's not accounted for in marks.
Mayo Is Actually Amazing
Not the bottled stuff. Some restaurants make it fresh and that is awesome
Streaming Services Have Made TV Series Worse
Do you remember how crappy TV was before streaming? Now, TV series are where the best actors can be found. Also, now I have access to TV shows from all over the world. I had no idea how awesome Turkish fantasy was. I enjoy Korean horror, and I can watch shows from my home country again.
Load More Replies...Binge-watching means audiences don't really have time to process, appreciate, and internalize what happens each episode. We lost a part of our culture when everything became on-demand.
Some of the 'old' British series are a delight to stream, especially if you missed out the first time.
Before streaming the best tv series were BBC and HBO. Now there's many of that quality to choose from.
I'd bet most people who say that couldn't sit through a 1980s TV show. People slam The Big Bang Theory for having had a laugh track, jokey dialog and unhealthy social interactions; compare to the constant, hatefilled putdowns of Rose (Betty White) by Dorothy in The Golden Girls, or the Dad's random quirk of the week on Family Ties, or the downright dehumanized absurdity of Jaleel White's nerd in Family Matters. And you used to have to go to a movie to see the sort of production value in a typical evening drama.
I think this is much like the "music these days sucks, it was much better it the 70's/80's/90's" argument; you remember the good stuff and forget how much utter trash has always been produced. That said I am often annoyed at the 6-10 episode seasons for streaming shows.
Depends on the shows or medium you are watching. As a fan of anime, I think anime is still really good, regardless if it is streamed, or airing regularly on TV. And I can catch up on older shows I might have missed. And some Korean and Japanese shows are still good, and I can watch them whenever. But most of the big shows on TV, like in terms of live action, there's probably only one or two I'll even consider watching at once out of the dozens that do air.
I used to consider TV shows to be a waste of time. I would occasionally watch crime shows with my family but that was about it. Most shows had like 20 new episodes every year with no continuity whatsoever (everything is reset after each episode, the characters have no arcs, plot is episodic...). In the last couple of years I finally started watching TV shows. The characters actually have arcs, the show actually tells a story and there is a lot less filler. Sure, I sometimes have to wait 3 years for 7-10 episodes, but it's usually well worth the wait. I don't understand why people are nostalgic for old TV shows. Sure there are some good ones but a lot of them are generic crime mistery shows and cringy sitcoms with tons of forced laughter.
Why am i waiting 2 years for 8 22 min episodes? Bring back full seasons!!
I think they've just run out of ideas now. Most of today's series are pretty much the same and I find them hard to follow because I don't find them very engaging.
I mostly watch the ABC, the public non-commercial tv station in Australia. The last 5-10 years there has been a huge drop in the amount of Australian tv series on it and those that are mostly pathetic. Even the British shows, which have always been featured about as much as Aussie ones, the quality has dropped. Not to mention that Disney took Dr Who, which has been shown on the ABC since it started in the 60s, so now the only way to watch the new ones is to pay for it.
We can always go back to 4 channels and 12 sitcoms running per station with reruns of Brady bunch and Gilligan's Island...The amount of choice and quality is amazing!
People Demonize Sugar Too Much
Excessive sugar, yes, but I'd rather have pure sugar than sickly chemical additives.
Listening To An Audiobook Doesn’t Mean You’ve Read The Book
This one's kinda ableist. What if you're blind and prefer not to use Braille?
Winter Is Only Good For The First Two Weeks
I hate winter. But then I have seasonal affective disorder or whatever it's called. Winter weather makes me depressed and lethargic.
People Romanticize About The '90s Too Much
Just wait until the end of this year (assuming we even make it), people will be even be looking back fondly on 2020
Paper Books Aren’t Superior To E-Books
We need a car tree air freshener with "old bookstore scent". E-books are convenient, but you can't beat the musty smell of old books,
Reading Books Is Not Inherently Superior To Watching Movies
I generally find movies of books I have read and enjoyed quite disappointing. I guess that during the reading process I am building a mental image of the people, their environment, their attitudes, etc. and these rarely match the director's ideas.
Dubai Chocolate Is Mediocre At Best
If You’re Making Tea, Using A Microwave Is Better Than Using A Kettle
I once suggested to my American friend we could microwave the s'mores instead of building a fire, he looked like he wanted to build a fire just to burn me alive. This is the same thing to the British when you suggest microwaving water for tea.

Bacon Is Overrated
So many of these are just personal choice. Why should anyone say that any food is an abomination unless it’s poisonous? Don’t tell anyone what they should eat! And don’t judge them either!!!
At least those are personal opinions. Not like the flat earth one.

I read books, I love reading but do I think audio listeners are getting less? No, I’m just glad folk are consuming literature one way or another, reading isn’t always accessible for some people. And so on and so forth. Your choices that don’t control my choices are fine and dandy.
First, no poll for bacon? Because we all know what the results would be! Second, don't put NOT in the questions, it's confusing!
Question 13? "You don't need to drink 8 glasses of water a day" Yup, you don't, or Nope you don't!
