Much of school consists of studying, memorizing and following instructions. It's very indoctrinated. Leaves little room for creative exploration, theory constructs and self-discovery. If you're able to produce anything off-curriculum it's not accounted for in marks.

I generally find movies of books I have read and enjoyed quite disappointing. I guess that during the reading process I am building a mental image of the people, their environment, their attitudes, etc. and these rarely match the director's ideas.

I once suggested to my American friend we could microwave the s'mores instead of building a fire, he looked like he wanted to build a fire just to burn me alive. This is the same thing to the British when you suggest microwaving water for tea.

I don’t like pineapple on pizza ‘cause I don’t like pineapple, do I have an issue with you liking it on pizza? Nope, it’s your pizza. I read books, I love reading but do I think audio listeners are getting less? No, I’m just glad folk are consuming literature one way or another, reading isn’t always accessible for some people. And so on and so forth. Your choices that don’t control my choices are fine and dandy.
