These Amazon Bags Are Reversible For Returns
The problem is a lot of sellers use the return adhesive strip to seal the package, so then it doesn't work anymore (although you could probably tape it.)
Load More Replies...You don't turn it inside out. If you open it at the perforated line, there's a second line of double stick tape you can peel and reseal the bag.
Depends on if the item is small and light. They still send bigger orders in boxes.
Load More Replies...well that saves only a tiny bit of material if you consider the packaging -_-
only assuming you don't destroy the fücking thing in the process of opening it in the first place
Mangoes Are Supposed To Be Peeled Like Bananas
It’s not “supposed” to be anything. It’s not like there are specific instructions on how to prepare certain foods
You're right, but he isn't wrong, it is easier to peel that way.
Load More Replies...It's still hard to cut the flesh off of the pit though because SLIPPERY
Yes you can peel but it is very messy if the mango is ripe and juicy. Most people will cut two cheeks from each side and cross-cut them to form a lattice pattern for easy consumption.
I've tried this, but the flesh is always stuck to the peel and it won't ever come off like on these pics...
Cooking Oil Around The Rim Of The Pot Stops It From Boiling Over
I put a wooden spoon over the pot and it prevents it from boiling over. Not sure if it has to be wood but it’s the only one I tried.
Adding oil to the pot gets oil on your noodles. Then sauce doesn’t adhere to them properly. Most recipes will tell you not to use oil but to reduce heat and stir.
So I always thought that the reason oil was added to a pot of water for pasta was so the pasta wouldn't get stuck together? I've also have heard and used a little salt in the water to prevent the pasta sticking together..does anyone have any other suggestions besides a wooden spoon which has never worked for me btw or standing over it and adjusting temp as needed??
Load More Replies...Every soure I am finding that is not tiktok videos is quoting tiktok videos. Unknown, but dubious.
Load More Replies...Never do this if you're cooking anything that needs the water to soak in, like pasta and dried beans. The oil will coat the pasta/bean, preventing water from getting in. Try this instead: TURN DOWN THE HEAT under the pot. You can keep a boil going without full heat and then you won't have boil overs. Or maybe even, a bigger pot!
It works just as well in the water, a tablespoon of olive oil (not extra virgin) will bind the extra starch and keep it from boiling over as well as add flavor to the noodles
Sidney Raz has become a viral sensation on TikTok for sharing these videos of “things he didn’t know until he was in his thirties”. He covers anything from how to properly wrap a present to how to crack an egg without breaking the yolk, and viewers are obsessed with his simple tutorials. He’s amassed 4.3 million followers over the past few years and has shared over 130 tips, tricks and life hacks. And lucky for us, Bored Panda was previously able to get in touch with Sidney to discuss how this viral video series began.
The LA-native, who’s now 34, shared in a 2021 interview that the videos took off after he shared one stating, “Here's something you should know about being in your 30s. It's better than your 20s.” After that, he began proving himself right with many more videos, noting that the most popular ones teach viewers about how to better utilize everyday items. “Travel pillows, English muffins, trash bags, plungers, and so on," Sidney explained. "We all use the same things every day and [without questioning them] because that's how we were taught, but we have no idea why or if it's even right. So when I post a video showing a different way, it blows minds."
The Back Of The Hammer Can Hold The Nail For The First Swing
If accuracy does matter you can also hold the nail with a pair of pliers
Load More Replies...Alot of framing hammers will have a notch on the top of the head to hold a nail, usually magnetic.
If you can't hit a nail on first try, you shouldn't be allowed to own a hammer
You Can Still Use The Wrapping Paper If You Cut It Too Short
this would have been useful a lot of times before i saw this
I seldom cut wrapping paper too short. My problem is, I cut it too big and have to cut, cut, cut until paper fits. Of course the scraps are too small to wrap anything else.
I buy wrapping paper that has grid lines so I don't cut it too short or too long. It has come in handy a lot
Coconut Oil Can Remove Sharpie From Your Skin
isopopyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol, hand sanitizer) works just fine. i use sharpies at work every day and i keep a pocket-sized bottle of hand sanitizer with me for just that reason. alcohol will also remove sharpie ink from a dry erase board like magic
Sidney also previously told Bored Panda that most of us learn plenty in our twenties that can help us through the rest of our lives as well. “We tend to experience both heartbreak and true joy before our thirties too,” the life hack expert noted. “There are large ups and downs but, hopefully, they help us to be more empathetic people. They’re hard lessons but needed."
"I’m learning all these things too, and I don’t want anyone to feel as alone as I have in the past when I didn’t know something [older folks understood quite well]," the TikToker added. We’re all on a constant journey of growth, so whether you’re 18 or 55, there’s probably something you can learn from Sidney’s videos!
The Best Degreaser Is Oil
That's why if you have greasy skin; you massage in a natural oil - i.e. Coconut, Jojoba, Almond -- on your dirty face to REMOVE the oil, rinse with clean water and you're good to go. Counter-intuitive, I know. But the worst thing you can use on your skin is a harsh cleanser, which strips your skin and stimulates production of MORE oils. I've had oily skin most of my life and using (only all-natural plant oils) have kept my skin balanced. Never had an issue with pimples.
Load More Replies...Like he just turned water into wine for the first time
Load More Replies...If it's burnt or dried on the fresh oil attaches to and loosens the old oil, making it easier to get up.
Load More Replies...Found this out on accident.....sister burnt beans....we were going to throw pot away...accidentally dropped cooking oil in it and the hard black residue loosened over night
isn't the oil just the same thing still in a bottle instead of being on the stove?... can't you just go straight to the soap and water part
For some things, others it is a little more difficult.
Load More Replies...The Top Of Tupperware Can Be Easily Closed By Pushing The Center
If you actually find the correct lid.....(It's where your lost sock is)
Don't you know that lost socks turn into unmatched Tupperware lids?
Load More Replies...This is a hack? And for my next trick, a watch can be used to tell the time...
If you pull up one corner, while pushing down on the center, it will "burp"!
Salt Can Remove Bitterness From Coffee
A tiny pinch of salt and a dash of vanilla on top of the grounds will make a superb pot of coffee.
Yeah on top of the grounds, before you pour the water on 😐
Load More Replies...Anyone else ever put salt instead of sugar in your coffee by mistake? 🤮
Or just don't buy over-roasted bitter coffee in the first place if you don't like it.
The bitterness is from over extraction, even a really dark roast shouldn't be bitter.
Load More Replies...Or just buy good quality coffee with a taste of your liking in the first place? Life is too short for bad coffee :)
To gain more wisdom from someone who knows what it’s like to enter your thirties, we reached out to Rachel, the woman behind Inside of Happiness, who was kind enough to share with Bored Panda why she learned more in her thirties than in her twenties. “Most of the hurdles I experienced in my twenties only made sense once I entered my thirties,” she said. “I realized that my mental health has a lot to do with my messy room, and my messy house has a lot to do with self-trust and self-awareness.”
Lemons Go In A Juicer Upside Down
Also buy lemons and limes with a smooth skin and brown specks. Smooth skin means lots of juice and the brown flecks are sugars in the juice breaking through meaning they will be sweeter
Now THAT'S really nice to know! I love when commenters are so very smart and helpful! Thank you NoCleverName.
Load More Replies...i do that first and if its being stubborn i turn it over
I always squeeze lemons (and limes) right-side up and upside down to get the most juice out of them.
I've never even seen a juicer like this before. I either have the one that looks like the top half of this or just the pestle looking one
I’m sorry, but who looks at a lemon or lime or whatever and says, “you know, I’m sure the juice will make its way through the thick skin?” Good lord.
The Next Glue Stick Can Be Glued To The Current One
i did this once for a long project that I didn't want to bother re getting glue with and it was just a 5 ft glue "stick" on the end of the gun, I used it all too
I tried this and the glue didn't fully dry so a molten stick of glue fell off the other and landed on my leg. Wasn't func
I learned from a previous coworker that you can just fill things with glue sticks, warm them up (heat gun or oven on low heat are fine) and have the glue neatly flow into all the parts of the item. This is sort of obvious in retrospect of course, but it changed the way I think about hot glue.
Parchment Paper Can Clean Faucets
Wet a paper towel with vinegar, wrap around faucet, let sit for... maybe 30mins or so, or even an entire night (depending on the staining), wipe clean. You're welcome 🙂
Load More Replies...I do not recommend. Baking paper causes micro scratches, so in the long run you will only destroy the surface and give limescale and dirt a better surface to stick to.
Parchment paper is a lot more expensive than leftover newspapers or paper towels. 🤷🏻♂️
I feel like I am missing something.. I clean it with a bit of soap on a wett rag and over it with a dry rag. Done.
Only US brands or others too? Is US parchment paper coated with anything? Ours is only simple paper. I‘m just asking because it would be a big difference and be the difference between this „hack“ working and not working everywhere.
“I learned what true love feels like (and no, it shouldn't make you question your worth and cry all night),” Rachel continued. “I found out how to stand up for myself and be proud of my opinions, even if no one else shares them. My thirties showed me that discipline, persistence, and curiosity will take me much further than short-lived motivation. They taught me that miracles take an eternity to wish for but a second to happen.”
Stainless Steel Removes Garlic Smell From Your Hands
And if you want to remove the smell of stainless steel, use an electic eel?
Use the blood that’s flowing after rubbing you hands in a sharp knife!
Load More Replies...We have a hollow stainless steel block shaped like a smooth bar of soap. Use it to "wash" your hands with some water (can add a little dish soap), and voilà, no garlic/onion hands.
Chefs soap. Perfect if you don't have a stainless steel sink.
Load More Replies...That is one reason to have a stainless steel sink. And gat carbon steel knives, not stainless.
I bought a garlic bar which is a soap bar shaped piece of stainless steel; works quite well
Cooking Spray Makes Shredding Cheese Easier
If you lay the box grater on its side, you can use some of your body weight to push the cheese down and forward, rather than relying on muscle strength. As someone who has grated a lot of cheese, I can tell you this is much easier.
Just freeze the cheese a bit if it is soft type , the hard cheese is fine with a sharp Shredder
There Are Notches On The Tea Bag Flag You're Supposed To Wrap The String Around
Just use a spoon like a normal person. Who has time for tea bags with strings?
I think strings save time. I don't worry about wrapping around the handle like this, but It is much easier to hold the tag in one hand and the teabag squeezer in the other.
Load More Replies...Hey, you put the flag through the key cup handle and then lock it in with a notch
“The thirties are a much more magical decade where we can find the time and space (around us and within) to truly expand our potential, learn new stuff (like pinching your Toblerone and breaking a pill in half using two fingers only), and allow all those new feelings, knowledge and experiences to stay with us,” Rachel shared. “While the twenties are like sweet and sour candy that makes our teeth ache, I see the thirties as the perfectly smooth cake you enjoy with each bite.”
Core Of Lettuce Can Just Be Knocked Out
I hit the core on the corner of the sink. It doesn't bruise the lettuce (as you're only hitting the core) and it comes out easily. Take it from a salad junky
Ah, a good salad. Some days I just want to eat a nice, clean, delicious "Elaine of Seinfeld" BIG salad.
Load More Replies...In the 1960s, Mom would knock the core on the divider between the sinks, to target the core only and keep from bruising the rest of the head.
If you're not going to use that whole head it's going to be rusty trash.
This is fine for restaurant work if you're going through 10 heads for lunch service but as home, it's going to bruise.
The Entire Roll Of Trash Bags Is Supposed To Go Inside The Trash Can
Yeah but if the current bag gets punctured and leaks, then there’s nasty c**p all over every bag.
And-what if you buy the big rolls from Costco? The whole can should be filled with a roll from Costco!
Load More Replies...A good tip for bins is to put a mixture of cat litter and washing powder in the bottom, the litter soaks up any bin juices and the washing powder helps to stop it smelling
Or just use bicarb soda, does the job of both at once, though I suppose if it's a big job the first option would be cheaper.
Load More Replies...I also put the whole roll of garbage cans in the bottom of the trash can (still rolled up) so that I can easily pull off a new bag when I need to. I never do this for the kitchen trash can, though, only for cans that won't have possible wet stuff put in them.
Of course *you* have to be the one to bring up size… pervert…

I still have mine (decorative) from fall. When it gets soft, I'll plant it.
Load More Replies...I can't stop staring at that exposed section - I strongly dislike eating squash, but I think I could stare at this all day. It's strangely satisfying.
This is the absolute best for making soup! It's sweet and starchy so the soup is beautifully thick. I add salt, a tsp of curry powder and a tbsp of nutmeg and cook it in chicken stock. Serve with warm slow cooker beer bread.
Load More Replies...No - it is far safer and easier than trying to 'saw' a squash.
Load More Replies...Microwave for a few minutes first and the cutting will be easier snd safer.
Rachel also believes that we’re never too old to keep learning. “It isn't random that we call life ‘a school’,” she noted. “Learning never stops, just like time. In her seventies, my grandmother was still solving math problems, reading books, and asking questions with the curiosity of a 5-year-old.”
“Learning isn't just essential; it's unavoidable,” the blogger continued. “Want it or not, we absorb, analyze, and use new information daily. We create and re-create our behavior patterns with every lesson or opinion we stumble upon. And that is how it should be.”
Broccoli Should Be Chopped After It's Boiled
It allows you to get attention by making a TikTok video about it.
Load More Replies...I oven roast my broccoli. Chop into florets, coat with olive oil, salt, pepper, any spices you want, and spread on a sheet pan, bake at 400°F for 25 minutes. Mmm crispy goodness!
Broccoli should neither be chopped before cooking nor steamed. Chop broccoli to the desired size and then microwave for 2 min and rearrange then microwave for another 2 minutes. It’s fast, retains all of the nutrients and is not soggy. Also, chopping 212 degree broccoli is going to burn your hands. This tip I learned from Alton Brown, so not just some dude on the nets.
Since broccoli is very easy to chop while uncooked, the only thing I see this doing is giving you a chance to burn your fingers, plus more time for the broccoli to get colder before people eat it.
One Plastic Bag Can Hold Two Full Cups Without Spilling
THIS is great for when I get the whole family drinks from somewhere that doesn't have drink carrier!
Load More Replies...Hydro flasks bottles are the best! They're made in the beautiful town of Bend Oregon.
Broccoli Should Be Rinsed From The Bottom
So am I. But please don't rinse me from the bottom, that's just mean 😂
Load More Replies...If your broccoli is a bit droopy, then cut off about an inch/2.5 cm from the end of the stem, and pop that end into a glass of cool water and leave for a hour or so, until the broccoli feels firm to the touch. It help to freshen the broccoli.
If there are any pandas out there reading this who are still in their twenties, Rachel has some wise words for you as well. “When you think life is too much (too demanding, too fast-paced, too confusing, too brutal, or too boring), take a deep breath and keep walking ahead,” she told Bored Panda. “Experience it all. Sooner or later, it will all make sense. Nothing you go through right now is random, and it prepares you for something greater coming your way. I know, such a cliche, but it is a cliche because it's true.”
And on a practical note, Rachel also added that it’s crucial to “learn how to manage your finances early on!”
Magnets Are Great Stud Finder
And in the absence of a magnet or stud finder knocking your knuckle across the wall until the pitch changes from hollow to solid works just fine
They find the nails in the studs, nit the studs themselves
Load More Replies...How are those shelves not on studs? One's got a bracket exactly on the stud he found; the lower looks like the bracket is about 16" away.
There's A Lock On The Mustard Cap
Penny Tet To Check Car Tires
Well I guess we are driving on bald tires in Canada. We don’t have pennies anymore : (
You also have to watch for sun damage/rot on the side walls of your tires. Wear your glasses for this one, if needed. Look for tiny webs of cracking. You may want to use a finer to push the sidewalls a bit to enhance the cracking. You can have just a few thousand miles on your tires and lots of tread, but if the tires are old and spend a lot of time in the sun they will rot.
And when it comes to what Rachel would tell her own 20-year-old self, she says, “I would ask her to hold her head higher, take deep breaths, and trust the process. No pain, confusion, or joyful moment lasts forever. Sooner or later, it all goes away and gets replaced with something new, most of the time - something better and unexpectedly wonderful.”

Ripping Tape And Saving Your Spot Is Possible In One Motion
Not sure I understand the saving your spot bit, ffs its painters tape, tear it off and go on. What he did just has the end all crumpled up.
It might work for other types of tape like packing tape that you can never find the end of.

Iphones Have A Symbol For Degrees On Their Keyboard
Every smartphone can do this. Its been part of the unicode set since 1987. My janky pager in the 90s could do it.

You Hold Your Cane On The Opposite Side Of Your Hurt Leg
But if you're using it for balance issues (no injuries), like I do, use your dominant hand to hold it. This gives you more control. Per my rheumatologist.
Exactly. Same type of doctor told me the same thing. I get dizzy spells, balance issues and pain issues. Because of combined issues, the doctor suggested using the right hand, since two issues require dominant hand and one issue requires opposite side.
Load More Replies...How do you figure? The cane is meant to reduce weight in your injured leg. Using it on the same side would cause shoulder and posture issues.
Load More Replies...I have 5 plates and 36 screws in my right knee and using my cane in my left hand doesn't help at all.
I have plates and screws in my left ankle. When walking with just 1 stick,I hold it in my left hand
Load More Replies...If you are on two crutches, and need to climb stairs you may want to put both under one arm and use the handrail with the other hand. Per my Dad who was climbing a steep set of stairs after breaking an ankle and fell and dislocated his shoulder because he was doing what they show you at the Dr office and not what I describe above
I feel bad for anyone who has to use crutches, I had them for 2 days before getting a knee scooter, and they are awful! But up stairs?!?!?!?!?!?
Load More Replies...I need a cane sometimes, and this is not correct. Perhaps it depends on the type of injury, or where it is. Mine is a trick ankle that will act up for a few days. I have tried both, and keeping it on the side with the injury so I'm pushing down with essentially a third leg, is the best. If it's on the other side, I lean that way and that makes it harder to walk and hurts my back.
Twisted my knee. Had to put the cane on the same side as injured knee otherwise I tried to put too much weight on the injured knee.
I really want to smack this guy, it's the stupid faces at the end, like he just invented electricity or something

Text Messages Can Be Edited
Of course they can - BEFORE YOU SEND THEM. Don't just type and press send for speed - I give you #covfefe.
Look again. He already sent it, then edited it after sending.
Load More Replies...iMessages. Not SMSs! iMessages are basically whatsapp integrated in apple ecosystem. SMSs are going through mobile provider and definitely CANNOT be edited (also these have green background, not blue like iMessages on the picture)
Yup. SMS is instant. Only web messages can be edited or unsent, as long as they haven't been read.
Load More Replies...If you send a text with a typo, you can go back an edit by holding a finger on it to bring up the option. You can also delete one, but it has a big old “this message has been edited” on it. And the recipient can still open it and read it.
Load More Replies...I use this for trolling my family. I send myself a text, then edit it so it looks like a text and a response. I use it to joke that my family members have texted me ridiculous things.
This only works with iPhones, and they will see your edit if they are paying attention. If you have and android and they try this, you will see a second message telling of the edit.
You Can Easily Scroll Between Apps On Your iPhone
Sure, those tribes in the amazon rain forest not contacted by the outside world.
Load More Replies...I don't know of an android phone that can't do this. I've been buying Samsung phones since the very first Note came out in 2011 with a large screen when Apple kept saying no one would want a phone the size of a brick or see any need for a screen larger than 3". All my phones since 2011 have had a quick way to see your entire catalog of installed apps.
I have an Android. I can do this too, but I don't because it's annoying and actually easier to open my app tabs and find the one I want because I can't be bothered to remember the order and I'd probably have to scroll several times.
Why are they using iphones? I've one cause employer gives then and i hate it. I think this is for the people who "hate when the bagger ties my bags!"
I can't tell from the pictures, but is he talking about when you tie a bag it the way (I don't know how to explain it!) where all you have to do is pull the end and it unties? Like not the traditional knot?
This is something people learn, usually by age 5 or so, by having shoelaces.
The Child Safety Caps Can Be Easily Removed For Adult Convenience
The most infuriating child-safe medicine jar I've had was with a screw cap, so you had to press and twist it. And that's still nothing, but the jar itself was a bit square and I couldn't open it with my injured hand, so I ended up smashing the lid with a hammer in a fit of rage.
And it's even worse when you're in pain and can't see straight.
Load More Replies...Oh no my kid just saw this because they were looking over my shoulder
I do this with my OTC pain killer. It's not easy. And I just move the cap from the old bottle to the new to avoid doing this again.

Cake Is Supposed To Be Cut From The Side To Eliminate Crumbs
Check out How To Cook That. Ann Reardon mostly does cake decorations, but she also does a bunch of debunking videos, and she covered this in a recent one. Yeah, it works, but there are downsides and really depends on what effect you are going for.
Okay, this guy is starting to p**s me off now. It took him 30 + years to figure out how to kinda use an allen wrench but now he's cutting cake from the side with a butter knife. The few crumbs saved do not justify the valuable cake-eating time lost to the stupid technique. Really, look at him cut the cake, that's ridiculous he's going to push the cake on the floor.
Parchment Paper Can Be Used In A Skillet For Easy Cleanup
Parchment paper is generally rated for around 425-450 F, depending on the brand. It should be fine.
Load More Replies...I always put parchment paper on public BBQs (Australia) because you never know how clean the plate is. Works great.
Wouldn't that get the pan damp from whatever food was in it, though? Seep-through? Like how the parchment paper gets after you use it for things that are less grease and more water?
The Tail On This Bow Is Supposed To Go Through The Bow
Capri Sun Fits In Lunchable Pack
What the fresh hell is this. I stayed calm at the microwaving of the plastic bag. Winced hard at the Reynolds wrap, but bit my tongue. I know parents are busy and don't have time and we're all using more plastics than we should, myself included -- but Lunchables and Capri Sun are a bridge too far for me. There, I said it. But TIL that both products have the same parent company, Kraft, so it would stand to reason that they would ingeniously have the juice fit inside the tray. Lastly, IF for kids (and not this grown dude), they are spending most of their lunchtime getting that bedeviling straw into the juice, bending the tip, breaking the straw in half, losing the suction, and hurriedly spraying the rest into their upturned maw. NOT, I would argue, artfully rearranging their bento display.
Does lunchable mean kids (people) really have this for lunch? I'm anything but a health freak but this is a bit too much, even for me. There's little to no nutrients in there.
Scarily, yes. I used to eat Lunchables for lunch in elementary school. Not every day, they're relatively expensive, but sometimes. I liked the pizza ones that come with little dough crackers, tomato sauce and cheese and you assemble your tiny cold pizzas yourself. But I also drank Little Hugs as a kid, and those are just a plastic barrel of sugared chemicals, so my taste was probably questionable.

This seems pretty brand specific. No pot noodles where I am come with cardboard sleeves.
There's a brand of Nissin noodles in the UK and Europe (maybe Japan too since Nissin is based there) that come with plastic lids that have tiny holes in them, which allows steam to escape whilst they cook, and make it easy to drain the excess water. :D then the pot and lid is recyclable!
Load More Replies...I just rest the utensil I'm going to eat it with on the lid for the 3 minutes. Easy peasy.
I use the mismatched plastic lids we all have thinking we'll eventually find it's matching tub
Ziploc Bags Are Microwave Safe
I completely refute this: my daughter microwaved mashed potatoes that were in a ziploc bag. When she removed it, the potato melted the plastic & landed on her foot. She got 2nd & 3rd degree burns. Put the bag into a bowl.
i started using plastic bags to heat up a lot of stuff and its all came out really a lot better
You can also scramble eggs in them for camping, each person can add whatever ingredients they like and you throw them out after putting them in the water you're boiling while camping. (This was a big 'hack' that seemed to be everywhere a few years ago... before microplastics were widely recognized.)

you generally use the long end in first for speed, as you can spin it between your fingers, and a lot of times there isn't room to spin all the way around if you start with the short end in. Either way, you finish with the short end in for leverage/torque
Load More Replies...Who says that is the top though? you can use allen keys from either end.
