“Poti – a port city in Georgia, located on the eastern Black Sea coast in the region of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti in the west of the country. Built near the site of the ancient Greek colony of Phasis and deriving its name from the same, the city has become a major port city and industrial center since the early 20th century.” (wikipedia)
It is a city where I spent my childhood. Adding the fact that the city with its lakes, seaside views and fishing culture is the little Scandinavia (the place where I’m so willing to move in the future) and some kind of special place for me. After all, 3,000 vikings arrived in Georgia in the 11th century at the mouth of the Rioni River, at Bashi, near Poti. Moreover, it has Twin city in Sweden – Östhammar (since 2007).
