Hi, I’m Alla and these illustrations are about me! I'm only 4ft 9in (1.5m) tall and this presents me with a few day-to-day challenges. I thought it would be fun to illustrate some of the difficulties I face in my everyday life. I hope you will enjoy them because the best things come in small packages!

I grab tongs from the cooking section. Use them to grab the unreachable, then put them back.
I have the opposite problem. My wife yells at me to slow down. It's really weird trying to walk at half speed.
Apparently this can cause some kind of physical harm. I made a bunch of footstools for ladies where I used to work, ordered by a nurse.
let me say that 5 min crafts suck, but i saw this one where someone used old pencils, sharpened them, glued them into something and painted them gold. boom you now have a stabbing crown
One thing I realized, as a person under 5', is that I'm elbow level in a mosh pit. Needless to say, my nose has been broken a few times. 😁
This is so not okay, I don't care if you're friends and do it, you're an a*****e.
If anyone does this to me again they are going to get a swift kick to the groin or an elbow to the ribs.
Yeah, but they hate it when I move suddenly and they're falling sideways or I elbow them right in the kidney
I do this to my boyfriend's shoulder since he is shorter than me (he doesn't mind)
I always get teased when i say I'll punch/hit them, you can't reach that high to hit me they said. Well, who said I'm hitting your face?
I do this to people I know are fine with it - and they are about the same height as me!
A lot of times I turn it around and I try using my tall friends as arm rests, I joke that I’m getting a free arm workout

Office chair proportions don't fit you either... Had a lot of trouble finding one short enough so I could have my feet on the ground, but not being a child chair.
Fashionable is only the half of it...children's clothes don't fit right on my adult, woman's body...they just don't...
And the cabinets over the refrigerator are officially declared "NO MAN'S LAND" because there just ain't no way... Of course, the dust on the top of the fridge tells its own story. Being un-tall is no joke.
Do you hide her presents on top of the fridge? (I knew a similarly heighted couple that did that. It was great. :) )

My tiny feet make it hard to buy shoes too! And I have to buy all my clothes in the juniors section or women's petite. When I find clothes that fit, I order multiples. It's tough being short. Until a few years ago everyone thought I was 12 when they first met me and I got thrown out of a liquor store on my 21st bday. I've had cops try to arrest me to take me to school or home. I've even been pulled over for being a kid driving. And creepers chased me around thinking I was a runaway. I actually began smoking at 11 to look older or at least my age. But I quit a year ago. I'm glad that no one thinks I'm a grade schooler anymore. Lol
I may not be short, but my hips didn't expand in puberty (afab) and you have no clue how hard it is to find adult shorts and underwear that fit... someone should totally make a brand that sells elegant and fashionable clothing for people with small proportions!
I have the opposite problem of not being able to find pants that can go over my hips and fit at my much smaller waist

Oh Alla thank you for writing this! I used to be 5'2" but now I'm 4'9" and everything you said is true! Hot tubs have molded-in seats that are so long my head goes underwater if I try to use them. Seat belts go across my neck instead of my chest. My feet don't touch the floor in any chair, including my wheelchair when I have to use it. You have my deepest sympathies! Maybe someday the world will account for us too 😭
You can get things that adjust the effective height of seatbelts, so they sit in the right place, rather than against your neck. I'm 5' 1" and have one in my car. They are intended for children, ut make a real difference to the comfort of small adults too.

My mom is 4'11" and I use her as an armrest all the time! I usually end up with her elbow in my ribs. Love my mommy!!
Incredibly relatable. They should do what I do and have a step stool in every room of the house 🤣

Thank you for making these! As a 4'10" woman, I feel like they were made just for me 🥰 However, there are some positives to being short and petite. I'm awesome at hide-and-seek, which means I'd be great at hiding from a home invader. Being petite also means I can get cheap clothes/shoes in the kids' department (although the style and fit isn't always great), my couches/beds will last longer because I'm not putting as much weight on them, and I have a smaller appetite so I spend less on food. Something that can be both positive and negative: people usually see me as non-threatening. Being short in a tall person's world isn't all bad 😸

My husband hates shopping with me, when we go our separate ways to different areas , he can never find me
When I was young and the tallest in my class (even counting the teachers) I used to envy those of smaller stature. I now see, that problems can occur to anyone who is not average, but then it was annoying, to not being able to buy jeans long enough by 8-9 cm, or a jacket with sleeves that didn't end above my wrists.
