There are always people who think they deserve more than everybody else. They constantly ask for a discount, try to gorge on more freebies than they can carry, never tip, and always try to get things for free. And there’s a specially dedicated place for them called “Choosing Beggars,” a 2.2M-strong subreddit that collects the most hilariously embarrassing cases.

And you may think that Thanksgiving, a national holiday which essentially encapsulates the word and the meaning giving, would stop them. Well, not really. Apparently, the festivity may as well serve as a perfect opportunity to have all its perks without putting in all the effort or losing a dime.

So this time we collected some of the most crazy examples of beggars in action: Thanksgiving edition. After you’re done, be sure to check out our previous posts with people whose ego and entitlement is too big for this tiny world here, here and here.

Great. She can do the same for me when I need my 5 indoor kitties fed, watered and poopy-scooped twice a day for a week while I'm at my family reunion. Oh, wait. Where'd she go?

Invite Us To Your Thanksgiving! But Only If You Have These Things And We Will Only Bring Dessert. Tia

Invite Us To Your Thanksgiving! But Only If You Have These Things And We Will Only Bring Dessert. Tia

okimadeone Report

This Thanksgiving may have been the most expensive one for the host so far. How come? Well, it turns out that agricultural economists, farmers and grocery executives predicted that nearly every component of the traditional American Thanksgiving dinner, from the disposable aluminum turkey roasting pan to the coffee and pie, come at a higher price this year.

Interestingly, last year, the cost of a Thanksgiving dinner for 10 was the lowest it had been since 2010, the American Farm Bureau reported. So what on earth has happened? Turns out that last year, during the height of the pandemic, everyone was laying low with celebrations, and very few people were buying groceries for big gatherings. Grocery sellers were keeping the prices of the Thanksgiving staple—turkey—pretty low to attract the shoppers.

I don't think so. I put a free item on Craigslist, and got more than one call asking me if I wouldn't mind driving across town "as soon as possible" to deliver it. People just don't get it.

I used to give away my kid’s clothes online. Too many people demanded I bring it to them or take a picture of each piece to “decide” if they wanted it or not. I gave up and just give it to the thrift store now

I’m slightly torn about this one. I feel the person asking should have given a reason, and the stuffing bit has no excuse, but the post did say it was for someone ‘in need’. Someone who cannot afford a turkey would quite likely not be able to afford to cook it either, or have the required, working equipment.

The audacity to think that someone else should do all the work for you...we have a lot of lazy no-goods out there trying to mooch off of well meaning individuals.

That's when you reply "Sure, no problem!" Then continue to explain where to meet, maybe a Walmart parking lot becuz they are closed, and just happen to forget & not show up. The nerve of this post...

A lot of poor people (you know... people who need to be given a turkey for Thanksgiving) don't have ovens that can cook a turkey. Microwaves and toaster-overns don't cut it.

But after the global vaccination, the world has opened up and big gatherings resumed as if they had never stopped. So did the demand for turkey and other foods, whose prices have been soaring rapidly this past year.

The New York Times suggests that we shouldn’t look for a single culprit to explain the phenomenon. According to them, the nation’s food supply has been battered by a knotted supply chain, high transportation expenses, labor shortages, trade policies and bad weather. Inflation is at play, too.

I don't see a problem with this? If she's no takers, then no one with $15 is interested. But I bet there are people that can swing for that amount that can't or don't want to cook their own dinner. She's not expecting homeless people to buy it.

Numbers also speak for themselves. The Consumer Price Index for food was up 4.6 percent from a year ago in September, while the prices for meat, poultry, fish and eggs soared a whopping 10.5 percent. For those wondering what’s up with the sky-high turkey prices, it may have to do with the fact that the price of corn, which most commercial turkeys feed on, more than doubled in some parts of the country from July 2020 to July 2021.

The Department of Agriculture turkey report released on Friday has also stated that whole frozen birds already cost 25 cents/pound more than they did a year ago. With much bigger holiday celebrations than last year, the demand for festive foods is likely not going anywhere, so there’s a slim chance you’ll get your hands on a turkey bargain.

This person has a serious, serious attitude problem. It's very clear that her mantra is "see how hard things are" as she says in one of her msgs. She also expects other ppl serve her solutions to all her problems without any effort from herself at all.

I don't see anything wrong with this. If you don't ask, you don't get. She listed what she normally has, and there will be people out there who may want to provide or have spare.
