I was amused when they showed a picture of a hospital with normal parking and no outside activity as an indicator that it was fake. What did you think the covid patients drove themselves to the hospital, or that the would change PPE outside or something? The insides were war zones, that doesn't emote like osmosis through the walls....

I was working in health and social care and was flabbergasted that some colleagues thought it was a hoax even though we lost quite a few elderly and weaker clients.

My friend in New York City lost over twenty of his friends in six months from the first wave of COVID. Maybe rural people did not see it as being so contagious they did not have the population density to cause a rapid spread.

Not supporting policies that caused their own form of harm is not the same as not believing in the virus. Sweden - for example - made practical, considered choices that left far more freedoms in place without devastating their society and social contract. Even once many decisions were demonstrably bad, authorities doubled down on them …. Trust shattered.

This is internet hyperbole. Somehow "people don't believe the hype about Covid" was turned into "people don't believe the virus is real". Guess what? A lot of the hype WAS fake. Remember when we were told to disinfect deliveries and groceries and wioe down work spaces twice daily? Yeah, it's been admitted that that was a placebo. Something to keep the masses busy and thinking they were "doing something". It even has a name - "Hygiene Theater".

But to be honest I'm more concern about the larger group climate inactive people, (the mayority) people who believe climate change is real, but do not do anything about it, either because they don't believe is "that bad" or because they believe their efforts to be futile.

What exactly is amazing? the fact that we expect quality? the fact that developer's are exploited? the fact that there is no quality? also I don't think this is exclusively a big industry issue, Indy devs also produce lazy, uncreative stuff, by numbers I would say indy devs make more garbage, not that is fair to compare. But I think the issue is that creating truly new, truly committed work in the entertainment industries is just hard and rare, 95% of everything made is derivative and half assed.
