Our lives are changing and we’re finding out that adapting to the “new normal” is harder than it looks on paper. While most of us occasionally slip up, there are some people who have completely left rational thought by the roadside the moment the quarantine came into effect.
Internet users can’t help but poke fun at how some people are clueless about how viruses work, so Bored Panda has collected some of the funniest photos of people doing dumb things during the pandemic. For instance, in China, there have been reported cases of people hunting down pet cats and dogs due to misinformation about how the virus works. Meanwhile in Malaysia, some citizens were busy spreading rumors that coronavirus patients turned into zombies.

McDonald’s in China apologized after one of the restaurant’s branches in Guangzhou stopped black people from going inside. The company temporarily closed down the restaurant when it found out about the notice. Online rumors about the coronavirus circulating in Guangzhou led to hundreds of Africans being evicted from apartments and hotels just last week.

Actually . . . it's possible she just pulled the mask down when she was away from anyone else, after coming out of a crowded area. I have a very hard time breathing through masks and end up lightheaded and gasping. When I am safely away from people, I do pull the mask away from my nose and/or mouth to get a couple of deep breaths so I don't pass out.

Yeah, cos I’m sure the kid being paid a s****y wage, being forced to go to work at the same time global news is urging people to stay at home as much as they can, probably working 12 hour + shift and the only protection they get from their managers is a pair of cheap gloves thrown at them at the start of the shift really cares by that point. And newsflash: if the gloves aren’t replaced after each transaction, there is no point in wearing them as they don’t offer any protection to the wearer or the people they are exchanging items/money with.

I stopped at #2, people are attacking the Governor of Michigan for putting in stricter measures to protect Michigan citizens, but that photo was proven to be old. Ol' Teddy Cruz deleted his tweet about that photo with his tail tucked between his legs. How about BP put a photo up of the Michigan stay-at-home protesters who blocked streets to Sparrow Hospital.

Dumbest thing I've seen was the t-shirt on a family member at the hospital just today: "HOAX19". They sniggered an dsneered and laughed openly at the questions and the mask and gloves and soap and water, mimed wiping their butt before putting their hand on a door, and that, btw, was before they got past the *lobby*. Security ejected them. Person then raised a huge fuss about his "rights". Yeah, well, we hav ea right to *live*, thanks... Oy.

I can not say this enough: COVID19 is real and it is very serious. Please stop joking around and having to hang out with your friends and just stay home. We will get through this a lot faster if people would just do what is asked of them by health professionals. Unless you have to be out, just stay in your house.

Being in the medical field I want to agree with your comment, but then again must say this: most of my family & friends have very few masks or gloves to use. We are all reusing what little we have, sanitizing masks & gloves so we can re-wear them. Which may be the case for some of the folks in these picss. But, idiots who aren't wearing them properly, their noses, mouths not even covered by their masks! Now that is a waste.

Experts have stated that the point of wearing masks is to keep the wearer from SPREADING the disease, not getting it. Covering your nose with anything less than an N95 mask doesn't do anything. Most of those shown with noses uncovered are wearing surgical or dust masks but by covering their mouths they are keeping others safe. btw- a Lancet study showed that asymptomatic carriers can be contagious by up to 8 weeks.

The most important rule to follow to prevent the spread of this (or any just about any other) disease is to isolate yourself. If you're sick, stay at home - not one single person out there wants your pestilence no matter what the payoff. Conversely, if you're not sick and for whatever reason you don't want to risk infection, stay at home - your mileage may very, but contagious individuals tend not to just wander in your door. Maybe now people will start acting courteously when they have a cold or flu and stay the hell away from me.

People seem to think gloves are either magic or somehow kill the virus on contact. They don't, they're just an extra skin that pick up the virus in exactly the same way as your own skin.

Exactly! Sanitize gloves immediately, even while wearing them, before touching other items! Use any qualified hand sanitizer, hell, use bleach! Kill the germs on the gloves, and I hope everyone knows how to safely remove the gloves, otherwise no sense wearing them.

Most people can’t get access to proper PPE right now, making some attempt to restrict access to their mouth and nose might be the best they can do because they have no option but to keep going to work. Especially in America where basic worker protections and welfare provisions are non existent and you can get sacked for trying to organise.

Regarding the masks not covering the nose - when I'm talking for a while, the mask tends to slip down under the nose, and I have to readjust it. I was just talking about it with a colleague who has the same problem. That could be the case with some of the people in these pictures. Of course, it's hard to tell from a still image whether that's the case or they're actually just wearing the masks improperly.

So.. if there was still ANY doubt. Humans are the problem. I don't mean that like "we are the virus" (even though we are) bu I mean, the reason the virus spreads like crazy, is because humans can't even do the simplest thing right.

Regarding the masks not covering the nose - when I'm talking for a while, the mask tends to slip down under the nose, and I have to readjust it. I was just talking about it with a colleague who has the same problem. That could be the case with some of the people in these pictures. Of course, it's hard to tell from a still image whether that's the case or they're actually just wearing the masks improperly.

I actually can see the dumbasses in my grade doing this, and thinking they are "cool" for having friends over while calling it "quarantine".

All I keep thinking while scrolling through this, is "Were all gonna die", closely followed by, "Maybe we deserve this virus".
