As of Monday, mandatory all customers must wear mask, and DDM , store I work at, you still do not limit the amount of people who come into our little store, might be reported. Hey at least you care enough to cover your face. I hate watching the idiots that wear the mask and only cover their mouth. I mean common sense saying you breathe through your nose and your mouth. Do they think as long as I cover mouth it won't get in my body. I had some guy look at the clerk ugly because they didn't have their mask covering their nose and the clerk told him he needed to cover his face right or he needs to leave. It's getting crazy out there.

What you're seeing here is actually the opposite of what's being described. The Corona beer has been flying off the shelves so it's being restocked by the pallet. Notice further down that not everything is on a pallet, and those two empty pallets were probably more Corona.

We can judge all we want, but elementary human psychology tells us that fear changes the way that we see the world and react to things. In times of panic, we’re far more likely to conform and turn to herd-mentality so that we can feel safe.

If your friends, family, and neighbors are doing something, the odds are, we’ll be doing it as well. The best thing we can do is try to calm down and bring a bit of logic and common sense back into our lives.

Actually . . . it's possible she just pulled the mask down when she was away from anyone else, after coming out of a crowded area. I have a very hard time breathing through masks and end up lightheaded and gasping. When I am safely away from people, I do pull the mask away from my nose and/or mouth to get a couple of deep breaths so I don't pass out.

It's not THAT bad an idea. The buttons might be a bit more difficult to clean if you wanted to sanitize them - but in this case you'd just change the complete cover. If you really do that regularly, it might help a bit.

It’s a bad idea. It’s irrelevant and likely is more risky because of the perception of safety - as opposed to cleaning the darn buttons relentlessly. Touching a dirt plastic coating instead of a dirty button helps nothing.

When I was in quarantine, we covered the light switch because we were afraid to spray it down with Lysol and get it in the switch and possibly cause a fire. Since it was covered with plastic we could sanitize it and spray it without having to worry about damaging the electrical system.

It's to protect the mechanics. People are going around spraying things like this with sanitizers and it messes up the controls. Grocery stores had to put plastic over all their credit card machines at self check-out because of this reason.

Well, it’s okay to solve problems as they arise. Restrictive gear can make things uncomfortable and do damage. However, this is really stupid. Use gear effectively sonits not wasted, or leave it for the people that need t more or can do more good with them.

I do think it's important to feel physically comfortable when youre doing your job. Best practice would be if they could use ergonomics in their plans. They might want to rethink their solution or have a variety of options.

I don't know if it is because people don't understand how to wear them or that some people can't deal with having their mouth and nose covered at the same time. Yeah, cos I’m sure the kid being paid a s****y wage, being forced to go to work at the same time global news is urging people to stay at home as much as they can, probably working 12 hour + shift and the only protection they get from their managers is a pair of cheap gloves thrown at them at the start of the shift really cares by that point. And newsflash: if the gloves aren’t replaced after each transaction, there is no point in wearing them as they don’t offer any protection to the wearer or the people they are exchanging items/money with.

I am so glad that you didn't just attack and make fun of the kid. Pay by credit if you can, contact your credit companies for help. Epidemiologists and virologists agree that respiratory droplets pose the most danger, not indirect contact. That said, they also urge us to clean high frequency touch surfaces.

They offer some protection to the wearer as long as he doesn't touch them to his face. That would be hard over a 12 hour shift. My goal is to keep the virus out of my home and car. When I need to go out shopping, I put on a clean pair of cotton gloves right after I get out of the car. I take them off as soon as I get back in and I sanitize my hands. It's not perfect, but the gloves do provide a layer of protection used right.

I made a cashier change her gloves after the person in front of me had just paid with cash. With all the banging on about hand washing, I never saw a single thing about how dirty cash is, how many hands it's been through. This is what Safeway (grocery) cashiers do, handling every item. I tried to hold up items so the cashier could scan without touching, but she didn’t get it, or wasn’t willing to be bothered. Customer after customer. She wore gloves, unchanged, and the card reader/keypad was covered with Press and Seal -also touched by mank checking out over time. It’s frightening that there are people out there who are busy and uninformed or incurious who see the gloves and plastic and feel safe because of them. There you go.

I really wish there was a way to pinpoint what causes the disconnect for these people. How they don't see the difference between trying to protect the population from a pandemic and just taking rights away- I don't understand why so many people are so set on dying for their "right" to ignore medical advice and put others in danger. Like you said- they can still go out. We've not all been boarded up in our homes. It's crazy to me how hard people work to feel like they're being persecuted.

Omg, I had no idea there were people protesting against quarantining and isolation. Have these people lost brain cells or something. I am so glad I live in Australia where our government has put in strict measures early. We have had 6,458 confirmed cases Australia wide and my state has had zero new cases for the past 2 days. Isolation and quarantine are working. people like this are the ones that can undo all the hard work the majority of the world is doing to protect us.

I live in Ohio, our Governor also put in really aggressive measures on this and was one of the first US Governors to do that. The number of new cases of COVID-19 here is far below what many experts feared b/c of those measures and that most people are complying with them. Most Ohioans strongly agree w/ our Gov. for being so aggressive in doing that, but that's what these few misguided people (out of a state of millions of people) are protesting.

It is working, but some of the measures are very aggressive. There has to be balance. Take Victoria for example; banning golf, and not allowing a learner driver to practise driving with her mother, whom she lives with and didn't get out of the car the entire time, is insane. I was the first one to pull my kids from school and start socially isolating, but I also recognise that we have to be careful with our rights. People absolutely need to stay home where possible, but they also absolutely should have the right to step outside the home without fear of being fined.

I live where this is, and I've been employed by The Ohio State House. Fortunately it's fair to say these fools are distinctly in the minority. Our Gov., Mike DeWine (who was inside giving his usual, reasonable points about why his stay-at-home orders must go on - which prompted this protest), and other statewide officials (all Republicans) have been clashing w/ Trump b/c they've taken the whole situation so much more seriously than him, and to their credit, have taken bold measures to curb this thing, ahead of most other states and Trump. Right now DeWine's approval rating is through the roof in Ohio, b/c he'd pushed so hard to put in such aggressive measures on this. But, our state has about 11.75 million people, so you'll have some eccentrics and extremists. (Face palm while chuckling).

Your comfort is not more important than someone else’s health. If you need arts and crafts for your mental health, sorry it’s tough but get that s**t delivered. You want to maintain and fix your own, it’s great to be productive but don’t think that the people working in those stores aren’t terrified and resent your a*s. Need to know how to use these masks or any mask. I need to wear it at work, ( a healthcare worker) and wear glasses. Pinch the metal part over the nose, and put the glasses so the bottom rim of the glasses overlaps the rim of the mask.

There's so much wrong in this picture. Groceries on the right conveyer belt mean that the right register is opened. A customer at the left of the picture which means that the left register is also open. A pallet and a stool placed so people have to move to the left, getting nearer to people left of them. Baby's under 3 are not allowed to wear masks, as they would breath in too much of the used oxygen again and they don't have enough capacity in their lungs to deal with that. So they would die of carbondioxid poisoning. All kids over 3 and obviously adults can cope and are not in danger of that happening. As to the father in this picture, he is actually really responsible. That way he doesn't only protect everybody around him from his baby coughing but is also protecting his baby. That rain cover is actually all he can do. Nobody gets excited, when you see it strapped over a stroller. The baby can breath in there, nobody needs to worry

If it's over a stroller, the frame of the stroller keeps it away from the baby's nose and mouth. Put it directly on the child's body, and there's a chance that when the baby inhales, it could suck the plastic up to the nose/mouth and create a seal. In this exact scenario, where the dad is holding the baby in front of him, he'd certainly notice if the child started struggling for air, but if he puts him/her down for a moment, the suffocation risk goes way up. There's a reason every plastic bag in the US has a warning printed on it not to use it in a crib or give it to a child to play with.

From the picture it looks open at the bottom so the child can breathe. And masks doesn't really work for children that young. Even if you found a mask that small, they would probably rip it off. So this is probably not the worst way to defend a child when they need to go out.

He may be trying to protect himself, but he is actually more likely to get himself sick by doing that. People touch so many things when they're out and about, and a lot of the time they don't even realize it. These surfaces they are touching are often covered in germs, and by covering his mouth and nose with his hand he transferring those germs directly into his body. i.e. germs are on surface of object. Man touches object. Germs transfer to hands. Man covers face with hand. Germs transfer to face, nose and mouth. Germs are now in and on his body. He will now get sick.

He's an idiot, so yes. He's wearing a hoodie. He could wear it backwards, cut out a couple eye holes and be all set. Or he could just cut off the hood, pin some rubber bands to it and have a mask. The possibilities are many. The absolute worst thing you could do is exactly what he's doing. Everything he touches has the potential to infect someone now. If you don't see the problem with this, you are part of the problem.

Germs on the cart. He picks them up and transfers them to his unprotected face when he rubs his eyes, picks his nose, takes a smoke break. Or possibly gets germs inside his mask and then puts it on again. But to be fair, this is new for almost all of us.

Thanks. We need comments that educate. Also, the disinfectant can cause damage to the machine. I’ve been rethinking spraying down my car keys. I leave them in a ziploc bag, so I disinfect everything, my hands, then the bag before reaching for the keys but could still use them to unlock my car doors prior.

Sick and tired of people bitching about stores that are at least TRYING. The person that posted that photo has been touching their phone, carrying it around with them in public and then whipped it out to take a photo. Unless they wash their hands after EVERY time they use their phone in public then they are spreading germs too. Yet they have the nerve to b***h when someone is at least trying a solution..

I get this one. My pharmacy was doing this. It is Saran Press N Seal over the device. In between customers, they wiped the device down and changed the wrap at least once an hour. I thought it was a good idea.

Our local Trader Joe's has been limiting access to the store making people line up six feet apart outside the store. Two spots behind me is a guy saying "Well thank you F***ing Chinese! F***ing Commies. I hope the world goes after these guys and makes them pay! Now the rest of the world is sick because of them." I'm thinking "Because the lack of preparedness had nothing to do with it."
