LMAO - as a huge fantasy fan (Tolkien was my first, of course!), and a lifelong cat parent, I can attest to the validity of this one. EVERY cat I've ever shared my home with has, at least once a day or more, either sat on the book, or - as in this case - on my face so that I can't see the book!!

Although this is really cute, sadly, it's also really dangerous. If you had to brake suddenly, he would go flying right into the windsheild - not to mention, if anything startles him and he suddenly grabs your head with his claws, that could CAUSE an accident. Please keep your pets in a carrier or at least secured in the rear seat with the seatbelt and their own leash/collar. It's best for them, for you, and for everyone else on the road as well.

Love this one... My Tiger (I've got two, but Tiger is the boy, and the biggest, while also being the most lovey-dovey to me, and absolutely terrified of anyone else) will do this anytime I'm holding a book, tablet, phone, etc. Usually he does it when I'm sitting in my recliner, because he wants me to move my arm out of the way... so that he can curl up with his rump on the arm of the recliner, and his head and front paws using my left breast for a pillow. He does this EVERY day. It's his favorite place to sleep. To be honest, I think if I were to let him crawl inside my shirt, he would do that too. He is the most clingy, affectionate cat I have ever had - but only with me. Anyone else that comes to the house - even my son who was living with me for the first 2 years of Tiger's life - is avoided like the plague. He will run under the nearest piece of furniture the second they come to the door (before I even open it), and won't come out until he's sure they're gone for good.

I'd put a little carpeted ledge up there for him. He's going to keep doing that, and eventually (law of averages) he will slip, find himself getting wet, and shred your legs trying to find an escape from the water. Definitely get him his own shelf, with plenty of wood & carpet to cling to... for your own safety, lol.

Well, one reason they love our laptops is the heat they generate. But the other reason is that once again, you're allowing something to distract you from giving them your undivided attention 24/7 - because even if they are asleep, or completely ignoring you, you are supposed to be so enthralled by them that nothing else ever attracts your interest. ;)

It's the heat they generate, first of all. But also, as you will soon learn, when you're a cat parent, ANYTHING that detracts your attention from them (even if they're asleep or ignoring you) is forbidden. You are required to be completely focused on them 24/7... is the unwritten law of cat parenthood. But it's SOOO worth it!!

Beautiful cat w/amazing, gorgeous eyes. I wonder - is he also "kneading" your chest/stomach as he bites the shirt? Very often this is nursing behavior that is carried into adulthood by cats that get separated from their mother's too early... so they never outgrow the need to feel like they are suckling. They will usually pull a piece of cloth into their mouths to suck on while kneading the surface below the cloth (skin, bedding, whatever) to simulate that feeling from their kittenhood. It means he's feeling insecure, or lonely - and it means he loves you as a parent, so enjoy your kitty massage and be sure to pet him and provide him with loving reassurance too. :) <3

I gave up on trying to close the bathroom door a long time ago. One day I just asked my husband if he minded, and he said "I don't care - heck, I stopped closing the door about 6 months ago because whenever I did, the cats would be constantly pulling or sticking their paws under, trying to open it, and it was very distracting to what I was trying to get done with." So in the battle for the bathroom, the cats won both rounds. Now that I'm a widow, closing the door really doesn't occur to me, unless I have company, which is rare. I enjoy their company though... far more than the real reason I'm in there, lol.

Cat-Parent Safety Tip: Always keep an emergency flare and oxygen mask handy, in case of excessively long cat naps preventing normal breathing!! Also, you may want to pre-record your call for help to the police or a neighbor, because "MMPPHH!! I'b bin mofferd nphi mmphi ggnnatph!!" isn't likely to be understood by anyone.

LOL - My Tiger does this whether I'm working or not. The minute I sit down, he jumps into my lap, then wraps himself around my left arm and snuggles his head into the soft spot between my shoulder and my chest. He wraps his paws around my arm just like that too - so that I can't move the arm in any way without his knowing it. I'm still trying to determine if this is love or if he's the most possessive cat I've ever met, lol.
