It’s Unbelievable How Much This ‘Scary’ Dog Changed In 8 Months After Being Rescued From The Streets
They called him Frodo. Maybe because the shaggy remains of his coat looked a little like the curly hair of Lord of the Rings character Frodo Baggins. But for a while, however, the miserable stray doggie was more like the repulsive Gollum rather than the alter ego of Elijah Wood.
Last May, someone saw a starving pup wandering around in Croatia. The tiny creature was covered with mange, and his eyes were under attack by infection. According to some, Frodo looked scary like the devil. Nonetheless, he needed help and was soon taken to veteran animal rescuer Klaudija Sigurnjak.
“I was stunned,” Klaudija told The Dodo. “I could hardly believe it was really a dog. I immediately set about rescuing him.” After winning Frodo’s trust with food, Sigurnjak gave all the care the puppy needed to start his life anew. At first, however, it seemed like an impossible task. “He was full of fleas and ticks, and starved to the bone. We were not sure whether or not he’d survive.”
But even though nobody could save Frodo’s right eye, he proved to be the toughest fighter. Together with his fur, Frodo has regrown his spirit as well. “His transformation was phenomenal,” Sigurnjak said. “We never dreamt that he would be so beautiful.” After his amazing recovery, Frodo was put up for adoption, and quickly found his new family.

Frodo didn’t deserve any of the bad things that happened to him. All animals are cute and should be loved. ALL of them!!
Look at the gorgeous fur he's got now and how confident he looks! God bless all the people who helped him recover :D
I was like "Oh my gosh! What an ugly poor dog! I WANT IT" :D I just was sure, that if taken care of he would become the adorable smooshy thing that we got to see in the following pics :))
There will be more dogs that need your help. You will find yours.
Load More Replies...My Denny, from Romania. Not in quite such a sorry state as this wee gremlin but not good either! He was a scared, bitey wee person. Now he is the sweetest, most cuddly little man you could imagine. Rescue is wonderful <3 Denny-resc...ac9055.jpg
Thank you very much for helping Denny! You are an angel!
Load More Replies...Damn I like these stories. They are a ray of badly needed sunshine that we all especially need these days. ( I know it's a cliche but...........)
Check out that magnificent tail! I couldn't even tell he was a shih tzu (mix?) in the beginning. He's a tough little guy who found some outstanding friends along the way. If Klaudija hadn't come to the rescue...let's just say I'm so grateful that she did. Rescuers rock. They work so hard with so little recognition and get kicked around a lot along the way. I think they're some of the best people on the planet! :) I am so grateful for everyone who helped all the animals I've adopted.
His new owners' daughter was actually on Lip Sync Battle Shorties. Just watched her dominate the stage 💗💗💗 (Yeah, I'm 13 and still watch Nickelodeon, why do you care?)
You’re not really supposed to tell people your age online... And besides, Nick sucks now. The loud house, Alvin and the chipmunks, LSBS, especially JoJo Siwa. They all bring nick down. They should get rid of every show except Spongbob replays and get quality content.

I'm in love with the picture of him as a little pirate. What a great story. Thanks for sharing it. 😍
You have so much to enjoy and to be and do. Your part in the story of life will go on, little Frodo!
Aw. <3 I'm surprised even a wild stray can be reformed with some love and care. :)
He wasn't scary. He looked badass, even though he was sick and needed help. And he proved to be a tough, badass fighter indeed! Frodo wins!
He just had messed up furr and a missing eye :T thats sad .But the after pics are cute ^^
One thing I never understood was why there are always stories of rescued dogs and how much attention was given to them yet there are tons of dogs put to sleep in shelters. Wouldn't the money spent on this extra care to rescue dogs be used at the shelters to save more dogs? Perhaps it's the color of money? I just don't know where these people get those funds and why not maximize the effectiveness of funds.
Huh? Rescue dogs ARE shelter dogs, so I'm not sure what you're saying... you mean, why do they focus on certain animals? They bring attention to the neediest cases to increase their chances of adoption, but that doesn't have to take time or money away from the others. Also, sometimes people sponsor animals, and donate the funds for their care and treatments specifically.
