On Monday, August 21, 2017, millions of people were staring at the same thing through doofy glasses, as they tried to catch a glimpse of the solar eclipse. Not only that, they also immortalized the awe-inspiring moment in photos, and Bored Panda has collected the best of them in case you missed the phenomenon or can't get enough of it.

A total solar eclipse covered a narrow portion of the United States from Salem, Oregon to Charleston, South Carolina. And a partial one was visible across the entire continent of North America, as well as in parts of South America, Africa, and Europe. This was the first time since 1918 when North America experienced the path of totality from coast to coast.

People parked in my lot with chairs, umbrellas, etc. I went out and announced that the eclipse had been cancelled, six people started to pack up and leave. One old woman said "Well, s**t! all the way from Cincinnati for nothing!" This is my most memorable moment of the eclipse.

Clouds actually serve as a natural filter and framing device for these events. I am thankful for the cloud that drifted in front just as totality occurred although coverage was only 81% from my lattitude.

Do you know if there is a difference in the geomagnitism of the sun's effect on the earth, as the moon begins to and eventually covers it?

Just the right amount of cloud cover can enhance the experience.

The clouds made a 'standard' eclipse shot special. Good job sticking it out!

I had a cloud get in my way JUST before totality, then left very shortly after it was over. I was ticked off.

Reminds me of Eclipse's movie poster, minus Kirsten Stewart, Robert Pattinson & Taylor Lautner.
