Been traveling to Southern California with my best friend for a couple of years now. She lives there and I’m from Arizona. I’m not a professional photographer but I like to shoot often, and some of these are actually from my phone. I have a love for the color that SoCal has to offer. It's amazing. Share if you like.

If you took this in So Cal, then then this shot is NOT from that movie. (Probably some other tho.) Lost Boys was shot is Santa Cruz, which is Nor Cal. Bout 30 mins from San Jose/Silicon Valley. (That assumes traffic)

Hudson's Bluff Sea Cave, Rancho Palos Verdes, California ...Sadly, the cave interiors were filmed on Stage 12 at Warner Brothers Burbank Studios in Burbank, California. Still, the view of the cliffs makes a perfect shot to capture the beauty and mystery of The Lost Boys' Santa Carla... https://screenrant.com/the-lost-boys-filming-locations-explained/#:~:text=Hudson's%20Bluff%20Sea%20Cave%2C%20Rancho%20Palos%20Verdes%2C%20California&text=Sadly%2C%20the%20cave%20interiors%20were,The%20Lost%20Boys'%20Santa%20Carla.

That's the Korean Bell of Friendship, and it's at Angels Gate Park. "The bell does not have a clapper; instead, it is sounded by striking it with a large wooden log." Looks like it was out of commission for a while to be restored, due to rust and graffiti.

I covered my 1987 red Toyota Corolla FX-16 with bumper stickers, just like this! Yes, I'm originally from Los Angeles, but was living in Texas at the time. Somehow the hippie vibe doesn't come through with a Corolla, though.

When my girls were young, we lived at the beach for summer. (They did guards camp) And the whole neighborhood goes out to the bluff after dinner to watch the sunset. (Assuming there’s no fog. Cause July/August can be California’s true winter) So we’ve seen the flash a bunch, but I’m impressed you caught it with your camera. I’ve never managed that one.

Oceanside has come a loooong way. I moved there in 1999 and it was just young Marines and cheap car dealerships. Fun fact, the last scene from the movie Bring it On was filmed here right next to this pier 😊

This is at the "head" of the Oceanside pier, the longest wooden pier on West Coast. About 2 blocks to the right of this picture on Pacific St is the Top Gun house.

What's sad about it? Almost everything you use on a daily basis is made with oil. Plus people need jobs.

if you hang around Huntington Beach after sunset, the oil rigs look like offshore lit up Christmas trees. It's kind of pretty

I use a Google Pixel 3. (Pixel 6 is current model) Take alot of pictures. Use the filters in Google Photo App. But dont overuse, lots of people do this. Enhance slightly only the good pics. Thats why you take alot and then choose the best one. Do not try to save a bad picture with alot of editing or cropping. Use a little tripod, or hold your camera bery still in low light settings like this photo. Use angles, to highlight architecture. It will create depth. And the most important to me is.... use the "Rule of thirds" to compose your picture. https://www.slrlounge.com/glossary/rule-of-thirds-definition/#:~:text=Description%3A%20In%20photography%2C%20the%20rule,one%20of%20the%20lines%20itself. Thanks!

Rich, you truly have an eye for great photos. Considering that some of these were taken with your cell phone makes if even more impressive.
