Dan Piraro’s comics named ‘Bizarro’ are quite popular, especially if you’ve read certain newspapers before. The artist’s comics are released daily, so pretty much 365 days a year, non-stop. Dan’s comics are featured in more than 300 newspapers, and many of us probably grew up reading them, as his art style might just be ingrained in our memory. It’s fair to say that the artist’s work brings a sense of nostalgia now.

In the last interview with Bored Panda, Dan didn't shy away to tell us a little bit about the main goal of his one-paneled comics as he mentioned hoping to make a living out of it.
"I got into cartooning in hopes of finding a way to make a living that didn’t make me want to jump out of a window. My cartoons are meant to make people laugh and occasionally make them think."

"I have been doing some form of art virtually every day since before I can remember. Even as a 3-year-old, art was my favorite thing to do. I also played sports, explored outdoors, etc., but art was always my go-to if given a choice. Now in my 60s, I still do it every day, whether I’m being paid for it or not." Dan said to us when asked about how he got into the art in the first place.

I hunted it down in an image search and there's nothing. You can't really make out the specifics, but it's just made to look like a newspaper. Seemingly random censorship. Weird.

Dan's comics usually cover a lot of topics, but we wanted to know if perhaps he had a few he was particularly fond of or some that provided him with a lot of ideas.
"If I can create a joke that can be drawn, any topic is fair game unless it is vulgar, discriminatory, or violent. I have some favorite topics that I return to over and again, however: cowboys and the Old West, psychology, pets, heaven, and hell, evolution."

When asked about his drawing style, whether it was cartoony, realistic, or something else entirely, the artist told us that, "My drawing style is fairly realistic for a cartoon and my humor style is strange. That makes me a surrealist humorist, I suppose."

If you look at the signature, there's a little number that says how many secret symbols are hidden in the comic. You can find a list of all the symbols on the Bizarre website

These are Bizarro comics. There are items hidden in each comic. By the signature it tells you how many to look for. Items hidden may include a smoker's pipe, upside down bird, K2, flying saucer, pink bunny, eyeball, pie, 02 or Olive Oyl count as the same, loafer shoe, arrow, crown, fish, dynamite. I think that's it so 13 possible items. But by the signature of the cartoon and the date originally published it will tell you how many to look for

That Fish is not being eaten... he is a parasite fish that eats the tongue of the larger fish, grouper I believe, and attaches itself and becomes the live tongue replacement the fish. So... he became something larger then himself.

Not the original pilgrims, but I think most depictions of the Salem witch trials had people in similar wear. I think burning at the stake was not actually common there either, but it's still a common imagery
